This one always seemed like such an improvement over the Ikari games in the arcade. I just remember it feeling smoother and more responsive. And the NES conversion was definitely better than the first Ikari Warriors game on that machine.
@@solarflare9078 My comment was poorly worded. I meant that the arcade game Heavy Barrel was an improvement over the arcade Ikari games, and that this NES conversion was better than the NES Ikari games. Re-reading the comment I can understand the confusion.
This version is much quieter than the English version. Imagine every enemy you killed screaming loudly and it turns into a cacophony of endless screaming, since everyone spawns in large groups every couple of seconds, to the point it drowns out the music.
I was thinking the same thing. The HEAVYYYYY BARRELLLL! Was pretty awesome. And you couldn’t hear most arcade music in the arcades anyway. Better to at least pick out some sounds than have them all drowned out.
I will definitely be taking notes in this video. I plan to be at this game in a short time hopefully one day. Was wondering if you have any advice to beat this game either by score or time.

Yeah. The story continues in Midnight Resistance, another arcade game which is also made by Data East. The crime boss King Crimson kidnaps his family and the player is once again goes on a mission.
The story continues in "Midnight Resistance". The laugh at the end was made by King Crimson who kidnapped his family.

I wonder what makes you feel that way. Ikari Warriors ran at 60 FPS while this ran at 20 FPS, sometimes 15 FPS

Underrated comment.

That was cute.
This is the version I used to see in China back in 1980s
Chip & Dale 3
Yes exacte
Impressive speed! It's not so heavy, when you get used to it. (Is this actually the prequel of Midnight Resistance?)
Sure takes a ton of practice though. I prefer the NES controls.
Yes, it is. MR boss, King Crimson kidnaps his family at the end and the player goes on a rescue mission.
That ending...
My god..

What does he say when he assembles the heavy barrel
15:15 He just says "Hea(v)yyyy Barrel!"
Bloody Wolf is the second sequel. One of the bosses literally uses Heavy Barrel on you.
Wasn't that Midnight Resistance?
15:42 Dr. Eggman Robotnick?? What are you doing here? And what's so funny...
In the English version, he says "You die" until he runs away from you.
Quarter eater. Lol
Outstanding effort. Great game. Lovely sountrack.
