I'm more than likely to purchase this gimbal but what gets me is that no smart-phone gimbal company has put a cold shoe mount on top of the clamp yet! I think that would be an ideal spot to have one for a external mic, LED cube light, or any attachment that would enhance the video. Solid video btw. Thanks!
Nice review and guide how to's on Hohem isteady x.. If my android phone has version 5.0 Bluetooth would it work with the Isteady X? if you we're to choose on a budget gimbal between hohem isteady X and dji osmo mobile 2, which one will you choose?
I am thinking of returning my osmo 3 for this one. I just bought it I am having fun so I know I need a gimbal for my videos. I like how compact this one is and how this one and would work using a shuremv88. Does this one do object tracking?
Salvador Rios Jr. I use the Shure MV88 with my iPhone 7 Plus and this great new gimbal, something I couldn’t do with my DJI Osmo 3. Handles weight flawlessly!
Bought one months ago now the record button refuses to work when connected to the app, i'm using a Samsung Note 10+..Same record button issue with the DJI Osmo mobile 3 aswell, only gimble i own which works well with it's designated app and works as it should is the Zhiyun Smooth Q2.
Nice video. But I have a doubt. Why the recorded video which you played having some kind of stuttering/ frame drop. Is that the way it records the movement.?
I want to get the isteady as i am on a tight budget as i want to start making videos but i notice it doesn't have a mic jack and i have a phone huawei p30 lite which i've been told by some people that the sound is a bit muffled so what mic would you recommend bearing in mind that am a beginner and am on a tight budget and also would i need to get anything extra to to add to the isteady to be able to to connect the mic to it?
I'd recommend combing gimbal shooting with the "ninja walk" - footage is not as smooth when you walk normally. In your video I can see every step you take.

@@solidsportsfans it went ok, at first i had problems connecting the gimbal to my phone, but finally sorted the issue by making my phone in settings forget all other bluetooth devices which was a pain. Using the gimbal it was ok, does a good job and did a time lapse shoot which was fun. The gimbal does a decent job with stabalization but what people need to underatand is to get best results you have to do the Ninja walk, which if lots of people around can look strange and be abit embarrasing.

I just bought one, and it makes a loud motor noise when it moves to the right. This is not adequate even for a gimbal.
Just curious but I wonder what the optimal weight is for performance? Using a 180g phone versus the maximum load capacity for example?

This is super helpful! One question: If I add a wide angle lens to my iphone 8, will the added weight stop the Hohem from working?

The video filmed through the app will automatically go to my gallery and then I can send it to my pc or is this process more difficult or different?
Can I use the joystick to direct the video downward? Like I want to film myself drawing?
can you shoot in horizontal and vertical positions/mode or can you only shoot horizontal? this wasn't covered.

No. I love the DJI Osmo. This is a cheaper option for some people.
