Quick video on replacing your factory car stereo and changing out the stereo for a aftermarket deck in a mazda 2 2012. i hope this helps you wire it and also remove the trim panels to install the new head unit or video deck, this will also work for a double din install

Thanks for doing this video. Just did a swap with a double din for my daughters Mazda2 and this helped immensely. One thing for other viewers is the hazard/air bag indicator holder clips at the very top were VERY brittle and pretty much broke immediately as I pulled out. Assuming it's because they get so much sun/heat at the top of the dash or I did it wrong, but anyway, be careful at that point. I'm hoping I can source just that bracket but had to zap strap the Metra adapter kit at the top for now. Other than that, was probably one of the easiest installs I've ever done.

Thanks for posting this. I have a 2012 Mazda 2 Touring and my radio has a groundwire short so I have to replace it. This was very helpful for what to expect.
Did your radio cause a parasitic drain? That’s what is happening with my 2. I pulled the fuse that connects the radio and found the drain stopped.

Go to crutchfield and input your cars info and they will show you what fits and what you need to get.
Try Amazon type in the year type and look if it is compatible it will let you know in a message it will fit or not a fit .

If the original sound system doesnt work anymore, can you still install a new stereo that will work? I know Mazda 2 has had lots of problems with them eventually not working.
Is it possible to tighten the screws just to disassemble the glove box?
just, disassemble only the trim of the gearbox To expose the screws
i dont know how to pull out the center trim.. you skip it
Hey I did exactly like the video everything was fine and easy my only problem is that the plastic piece just on top of the glovebox I’m not able to get it back in there’s like a small half round circle on the bottom right and it looks like I should put it in first but it wont go in at all what should i do?
Try holding the club box lower so that way it’s almost aimed at the floor. There’s kind of a sweet spot to click in a lot of the times

Local car audio shop can get it from Amazon possibly look up part number on metra online
