Great video ! Surprised to see such small stingless bees (compared to our european bees) producing so much in Australia ! Thanks again.

Hi Tim. Your videos are great. I always like to see. A question: in multiplications do you never look for real cells or virgin queens? Regards from Brasil.

The hive at that time died and i end up cleaning everything and splitting the first hive in 2 again.
I have no idea why the hive died but as i live in suburbia, i split the hives back after 8 month and it was all healthy and ready to split.
I Noticed that in suburbia the bees collect an abundance of nectar due to the flowers around the houses

    Hi Tim
I have 2 hives one is almost 2 years old and the second is about 15 month old
I have not split them yet should i split them at that age?
The second hive for the last 6 days i noticed that there is no bees sitting at the entrance hole and it seems that there is no activity at the entrance i hope that this hive is not dead i am planning to open it this weekend to check it
If it is dead and empty, can i split the other hive and put it on the dead one with keeping everything inside such as eggs and honey and let the newly split bees continue the work? Or i have to clean the dead hive from everything and let the newly split bees rebuild everything from scratch?
    Regards and thanks Alain

The comment was 6 years ago so I take it u probably already did the thing. No do not put a old hive with a new how if it’s mouldy infected.
