@ While you are at it, I'd love a bit more in-depth explanation of your setup/routing and workflow... I guess a studio session Livestream or just non-stop recording uploaded to youtube would also do the job :D Anyway, amazing sound! Keep it coming, super inspirational... Actually, one question: If you had to choose only one drum-machine/sampler to do all your drums which would it be? I'm kind of limited on funds & space so I'm trying to stay versatile while forcing myself into a nice workflow... using Ableton to make drums never really satisfies me and testing the Analog Rythm was way more fun and creative... currently looking at the drumbrute impact (so cheap & nice sound), Digitakt (sampler, so very versatile + use as midi sequencer?) or TR-8s (love the concept of faders + sampler + actual drum maschine)... any thoughts? :D

WASP Gaming for explanations, you could check the video description, i go pretty much into details ;) Not so many tracks for this jam : you can hear what drumimpact is playing at the begining as i unmute every channel one after the other. Then i put this loop into space echo and timeline delays. Once it's done, i use the jomox filter and start triggering the vc340 with the OT to put all that loop into the vocoder. Tempest is coming with kickdrum and snare with reverb. AR plays claps + delays and 16 hhat. P12 is doing deep chord and high reso hits. P6 is playing lfo high noisy metal stabs. Everything is triggered by the OT. And last but not least, vermona sequence, morphing manualy. About drummachine, my choice would be Tempest for all its versatility and creativity but it's not a sampler. However, i could bring it everywhere and make a track with it. Drumimpact is very nice, i really love the randomizer. The sound is also great. Overall, it's better to try before buy ;)
@ tempest or vermona drm 1? wich sounds better to you?
5 лет назад+2
danny brabaender i've never had a drm1 but from what i heard, it sounds great. Tempest is my fav gear so far for its versatility and creativity. I could take it everywhere as standalone and make a track with it 🙂
GROOVY Greetings

Thx for your feedbacks, everytime great to read ☺️
wonderful tunes and warm, deep atmo. super groovy, constant footswing. myself beeing a great basic channel fan, i appreciate and enjoy your music very much. delighted to see you using the drumbrutImpact, which i love for its raw sounds and super easy interface and yeah, the randomizer ;-) love and respect for this (again) outstanding liverecording. greetings from germany.

herbert druschke thx for the great feedback. I'm delighted that you've enjoyed the ride. You summed everything right for the DrumbruteImpact. It's pretty new in my set up and i'll will explore it more. Very fun gear to play with. 👌
awesome work - instantly added this to our "music we love" playlist!

Human Motives thx mate ! I've seen you've got some Ann Annie in there. I've met him at the Thomann synth event in Germany this year, super nice music and super nice guy 😉

So inspiring, all your sets. Can't stop watching them. The Timeline and Bigsky seem to have a solid place in all your setups. Can you explain a little bit how you use them? What role the play in the end mix...
4 года назад+3
Buddy Stanley Thx for you words. A delay and a reverb are the minimum fx to have in my setup for the music i want to produce. So i use the space echo for its tape texture, sometime with the timeline all together for special delay fx. Reverb & delays are used as send fx in the mixer, so i can add what i want in the mix thru each channel of the mixer. Hope it helps 😉

When this was starting, I wasn't sure, but once you got into it, this really sounded good. Thanks for recording and sharing

Pete Brown thx ! The begining isn't the sexiest part but more like a "tuto", just to show how i use the rhythm from DrumbruteImpact to make a groove thru the vocoder ;)
This is so beautiful and so Vosne. Thanks so much. It's interesting to see you use the Drumbrute Impact, especially because i really took notice of the perfect kicks you made with (I think) the Tempest in some of your other videos. I wonder why you chose the Impact over the larger version of the Drumbrute, and how you like the kicks in particular.
5 лет назад+1
Thx for your kind words ! Actually i could test the DrumImpact at the TSR19, showcase between music brands and youtubers/musicians organised by Thoman in march. Arturia kindly provided me one as i really enjoyed the sound (maybe more modern than the Brute), the easy & straight workflow, distortion & shuffle and most of it... the randomizer. So, so cool stuff to create variations in your pattern. As far as i know, no other drummachine does that !
@ what is a kind of final compression do you use? and if you Mackie stereo output going to pc audio interface, how it routed to Revox? its sounding realy BIG
5 лет назад
Eber Ling thx 😊 actually i have 2 rme, fireface is for the laptop and i kept my old multiface for the desktop. So the mackie goes back to the fireface inputs and fireface outputs goes first to the Thermionic Culture Vulture vaccums warm-up then to the Revox. Then revox goes to the multiface inputs for a live recording from the desktop (to avoid fluttering from the tape and shiffting with the video)
@ thank you for showing your Setup, VØSNE! really intelligent kind of music you make...hour after hour in my ears all your sets...at work and in the car. and never boring
5 лет назад+1
Eber Ling i forgot to tell you that i use tc powercore md3 compressor for final mastering. 😌
He did it again!!! Wwoooow. thank you! always a pleasure to have a glimpse:) i‘m everytime wondering how you create these deep and mighty kicks?! Is is tempest again?
5 лет назад
yes it is ;) i used drumbrute to create a groove with hhat and bass then i used tempest for the main kickdrum & snares
cool setup - very good sound!! thanks for sharing! just curios....what kind of stativ for your synths do you have? i like the small holders for the effekts - i have the jaspers.....thank you for you information. kind regards
I'm sorry... Can I listen this and play Elite:Dangerous space sim game on my stream ? I am ready to mention you and give a link to your page . Thanks for You soundworks!

Awesome as usual, pure inspiration! How do you organize them all in terms of midi? Pretty sure it's not a daisy-chain, some midi-boxes involved?
5 лет назад
yasha k thx for the feedback :) Midi clock master is snd-acme 4 (you can see it on the right of the top view, just under the mackie). It launch laptop, tempest, AR + Drumimpact & OT. From OT, it's a classic chain for all the hardware synths. From Tempest, i use midi to sync the strymon.
Hi vincent! I was wondering what audio interface/card do you use? or what's your setup for the live sesions in terms of conections! great job man, loving your music
5 лет назад
Camilo Perez thx Camilo. I'm using RME fireface. For this live i used Tempest for all the rhythm section (kick, hhat, clap rimshot and tom), elektron octatrack for midi sequencing and audio loop, arturia DrumbruteImpact for the groove section + the behringer vc340 + jomox T- resonator for some filtered vocoder sounds. Then added some prophet 6 and prophet 12 for backgrounds and fx. And vermona for the melo sequence. Reverb + delays are strymon and space echo. For lives, i use tempest + laptop + an other synth (bassline 3 or vermona)
Hey V0sne, on your tempest would recommend using a 8 trs -> 16 mono snake and splitting out all 12 tracks? I noticed your splitting a few out into the mixed.. I was thinking of doing the same.. nice work btw
5 лет назад+1
yep i send 1 stereo + 1 mono to the mixer to have aux fx on these tracks. could be bassline, percussions, hhat or cymb, etc... I send 3 other mono straight into soundcard (Kickdrum, clap and hhat)
wow. that sounds so great! how do you sync all together?
5 лет назад
danny brabaender i use snd acme-4 as midi clock master. It launch laptop, tempest, octatrack and analog rytm + drumimpact. The synth are triggered by octactrack. You could check the video description for more details 😊
Q: given that you are using a DAW, how are you using the octatrack in this setup? Thx
5 лет назад
Thomas Moerman yes, using Ableton as daw. Just playing 2 samples from the original track: vocals and some dub chords. I use the controler for volume and filter. OT is triggering all midi of vermona p6, p12 & vc340. You can check the video's description for more details 😉
The octatrack would have been enough for this..nice jam though
4 года назад
By "only the OT", you mean no laptop ? Only 1 voice sample is played from Ableton. Sure, i could have played it from the OT but this is how my setup works. I'm not a "no daw" head, everything has its specificity ;)
Highly appreciate the fact you describe your setup routing and performance workflow. Dude you’re so inspiring!! ❤️
Buddy Stanley thx 🙏🙏
Would love to see a livestream of you doing a studio session.
Koss Billingham i have to figure how to make it work 😂
