Richie, You out did yourself with this video. VERY INFORMATIVE, VERY COMPREHENSIVE, REFEENCE GUIDE on the different types of RC vehicles for a veteran like myself and the novice RC enthusiast. Great Job! Outstanding!! Keep these type of videos coming. Well Done!!! I thought the video would be to long to keep my interest but I was captivated for the entire video. Keep it up. More please and thanks for providing and filling a void that others haven't been able to do the way you do it. Thanks again.

Don’t ask me why I watch all these “beginner” RC videos, when I’m not a beginner...maybe because there’re from my favorite RC YTers? Great video Richie, I’ll keep this one in mind for reference to any beginners looking for something like this.

Very good tutorial Richie! You covered it all and did an excellent job doing so! And it’s so important that you concluded with the same most important question you started with… “where are you going to drive your new Rc Car?” That is the first and most important thing to know before buying. Hats off to you! That was awesome!

Excellent informative Video but you skipped a bit on Rock crawlers and my option and Trail Walking, concentrating on the 'boy racers'. I only use Nimh Batteries (my choice) and pairing them with a brushed motor a good idea. I have just bought a Axial SCX6 Honcho and am scrabbling around trying to find a NiHM Battery. Thanks from UK.

My next buy will be a short course truck. the slash 4x4 ultimate is very tempting. Even if a bit more expensive, it's already fitted with most upgrades, so the end truck is probably cheaper this way than if you upgrade yourself. The other one I'm looking at but it's a bit big and expensive is the traxxas udr. That thing is awesome.
I have mini z to drift inside, it's a great car a bit expensive retail price but I didn't need to buy too many upgrades apart from a set of wheels with different offsets and some tires. So altogether the final build is still controlled and acceptable
I have the c10 scx24 to crawl on my mini course but I also take it along outside when I go crawling. The scx24 ends up being quite costly on upgrades and I still want and need to upgrade the esc and motor.... It really went out of hand and to think this mini truck will be worth around 550 dollars in the end... It's just not right
Im a bit tired of the 144001 because it always needs maintenance and breaks shafts and even if parts are cheap I don't use it so much anymore and with all the upgrades I've thrown in and I've converted it to a road buggy only running street tires. It's more of a shelf queen than anything now really...
I love my sg 1603. Super fun and cheap, nearly unbreakable, it's a great car just for me or to lend to friends and kids who have no experience. I totally trust it and recommend it, and just seeing the grin on their faces after the first minute proves it's fun for anyone. I would buy a second one just to be able to race it and it would be even more fun. I think the brushed version is more than enough, even though maybe the brushless version would maybe be better where I live and not heat as much. I need to order the new street tires which have come out. Totally recommended.
My trx4 sport is a fun trailer but upgrading it to make it crawl better is starting to be expensive. Just changing the wheels tires and foams sums up to half the price of the new car.... Changing the motor is not the most expensive though and the standard brushed motor it comes with is not that bad and behaves better now with the hobbywing 1080. I'll still need to change the body to make it perform better, something like a PL cliffhanger I guess
Last I have this love and hate relationship with my arrma typhon 3s. It's fun and fast but I'm really not convinced with the motor mount. At the same time it's meant to ease the maintenance, it's a weak point and calls for even more maintenance and I'll probably need to upgrade to an expensive m2c. Plus the shocks and turnbuckles always bend and also need to be upgraded to big bores and the stock servo only lasted 4 battery packs and the upgrade wasn't the cheapest because you also need to buy the extra servo arm from arrma to have the correct tooth count to use other brands of servos like my savox. I wouldn't buy it again and it would be the first car I'm ready to get rid off.
So in the end and back to my first point I think the slash 4x4 is the way to go for me

My vote for your buggy buy: 1/8 Scale Kyosho Inferno Neo 3.0. Or a Mugen. Or a Tekno. Each have been highly competitive for racing, and 1/8 buggies are a blast to watch and drive. They're IndyCars for dirt!!
Edit: And yes, the Traxxas trade-up program was fantastic for my Slash.
My only car as a kid was a Traxxas Rustler brushed. Besides having weak front A-Arms, the thing was fantastic for wherever I took it to run. Here's to stadium trucks!

Hmm, Nitro huh. Losi 8ight will probably be your best bet and it is definitely one of the top nitros out the. The Traxxas T-Maxx isnt bad either but nowhere near the build quality of a 8ight. HPI savage isnt bad either.

Picked up granite blx thinking itd blow oldschool kaiju out the water... WRONG ... I find myself wishing i grabbed a shredder 4s. Granite is just ... Kind of cookie cutter .. meaning u could put all the performance parts on your own chassis from wherever.. and probably be better off. The kaiju build quality is bettter than a traxxas bandit as well as the blx granite imo. All have garbage servos but the kaiju at least has some heft to it. I get heavier means problems usually, but to think that that bandit wouldnt take flight at 70mph is laughable. The plastic is crap EVERYTHING on it was crap... Except the motor. 😢🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
