This spontaneous, unplanned video from my first day travelling from the busy city of Tokyo to more calm, peaceful surroundings in Kanazawa turned into being one of which I'm the most proud of. First, I hope you like this style of editing and recording because I believe that's how I'll continue as I personally enjoy it - but most importantly, heard my words and received an important message. I was so scared to stop exercising but letting it happen in the natural events of things made it so much easier than I ever thought possible - and yes, I've been VERY resistant on giving it up. But it made sense at this point. I encourage every, single one of you who struggles to let go of exercising (from an addictive perspective) and letting yourself rest. It'll do wonders for you mind and body, I promise xx
so sooo proud of your decision!! 🫶🤍 i think it’s a pivotal and inspiring moment for all of us watching your healing journey.. really, truly amazing!! also the style of editing is really aesthetic in my opinion, love ittt! major travel envy bc kanazawa looks so serene and totally the place to be 🌱hope you’re well!

I cannot express how much I agree, because I stopped exercising about three month ago due to me starting uni, and having to focus a lot on my reading, and while it was very hard at the beginning it is not in mind at all, like I still go out with friends to do play football or tennis or small things like that, but I don't actively go to the gym or workout. It has also allowed to have more time to focus on my RUclips vlogs, and I can see how much I have improved already
I really liked what you said about naturally not wanting to exercise etc. It's amazing what wonders a change of scenery can do for you. You look like your really enjoying your travels and having a great time. Really happy for you and thanks for bringing us with you!
Physically moving away form the place that led me back into old patterns was what I needed! I felt like it cleared my mind in such an important way. It made me realise a lot of things which I needed. Thanks for your support! I'm so grateful for everything you guys bring me in return!
I agree. I quit the gym 9 months ago, lost some muscle but I feel more natural, more content with my body. It has probably also to do with the constant comparing to others bodies via social media and at the gym itself.
It’s true that social media has a huge influence on how we view exercise and unfortunately compare ourselves to one and other. Im glad you’re at a great place in terms of that! I myself realised that what I want to do more of is running - that’s what I miss and want to get into. Not the gym as much.
I've been going through this very process of cutting out compulsive movement just as of this week as well!! It is very very tough but in practice it gets slightly easier. Thank you for always being a positive voice and inspiration
Aaah I'm so proud of you! Well done for putting in the effort! It's a huge step on it's own to make the decision to try and change. Thank you for watching
I relate so much to this I just went to Japan this summer to visit my family and since coming back I haven’t felt the need to exercise excessively or do so to earn a snack. Although still far from perfect i feel I have improved my hunger cues and breaking from my mindset of demonising snacks or hunger in general since I had such a nice time there and saw how much care my Japanese family spent into making food which always tastes so heartwarming. The country’s scenery and just everything there was almost like a kind reset for me to take time for myself :)
That's incredible! I'm so so SO happy for you. Making the progress you're talking about is such a huge achievement on it's own. Be proud of what you've accomplished! I have to admit, Japan does it for me too. It's like the whole vibe and atmosphere is just healing

I think it's so freeing to hear you talk about the same struggles a lot of us go through. I recently started med school and found it hard at first to juggle the lack of time with my obsession to exercise as a way to keep my body in check, especially since there's a lot of focus put on body weight and health in med school, and i'm slowly trying to let go of that to find a middle ground. So i just wanted to say i find your words very conforting and keep taking care of yourself to be happy! Much love xx
I can relate to your situation as well! I really struggled with the longer periods of classes, sit-down worth etc. was I was studying as I was younger. But I’m glad im able to help you relax your mind more! Hugs xx
I am so happy for you that you made that decision! That's such a big step in recovery and I am so proud of you! ❤ At the beginning of my ed recovery my therapist told me to stop all exercise and first it felt so hard and I really didn't want to stop. But it got so much easier over time and the best thing is that I now no longer think about exercise as a way to burn off calories or that I need to train in order to eat something. Stopping exercise was really one of the best decisions I made. Exercise is always there. You can always pick it up again but when you in recovery it really is the best thing to quit and live without exercise.
It's definitely important to cut out for a period of time until your body is properly restored and functioning at It's optimal! There's a time and place for everything and it can be incorporated in a healthy way xx
Such an important massage in this video! Thank you. I experienced the same symptoms in the last two weeks. I forced myself to stop exercising the last wekk and my need to exercise went back! It‘s very nice to also focus on other things than sports:) i wish you the best, you got this!

This was a great time to explore going without exercise as things are going well abd you have support and love… exercise can become an unhealthy addiction for someone with body image issues and/or eating disorders… because it truly does make us feel better as serotonin levels rise… anxiety decreases and it suppresses appetite… (it doesn’t surprise me you are hungrier now), because of cultural values people who exercise are often complemented for it (and who doesn’t like that) but it can be counterproductive to recovery from eating disorders as it can be used to keep from gaining weight, it puts focus on the body and the thought of not exercising often causes anxiety or even panic… I’m so proud of you for doing this… this is a huge step for you… keep in mind that exercising is also a coping mechanism for you… and if something isn’t going well you may turn to it … that’s not necessarily bad/wrong, just be mindful and keep the amount you’re doing in check… it’s helpful to have someone you trust help with this as it isn’t easy 🩷
First part of your comment, you're absolutely right! I Resonate so much with what you're explaining. Thank you for putting it into words! Secondly, thank you so much. will you be stopping exercise for the long-term? very proud of you for taking such a difficult yet rewarding step!! how have you felt since recording this video if you have continued to abstain from movement?
Thank you! I’m surprised to say it was easier than expected but I’m pretty sure it’s because it happened in such a ‘natural’ way. I’ve slowly started to pick up my running again at a very easy, sustainable effort right now. I’ve only done a few runs because I genuinely felt good and wanting to get back into it (it’s my favourite sport) but I definitely take it much slower and easier than I used to! It definitely feels like the right way to slowly get back into it in a new way :) However, I don’t plan to return to the gym anytime soon because it’s too early in the process :)
Such a nice and positive video! I also love how reflected you are on yourself ❤ I just have a question because you were saying you still "need to gain more weight". In the last or the video before (I don't exactly remember) you said you have reached normal weight. And I'm just asking this because I have an eating disorder myself and my doctor wants me to gain weight, even though I have a bmi of 19, what is considered healthy in medicine. So I just wanted to know, why exactly you need to gain more weight- have you lost weight again when you kind of slipped into old habits or do you want to be a little more up in normal weight? I hope you get what I mean, my english is not the best 😅
BMI is not an indicator of health. it was created to define the weight of the average man in society. The person who created it was not a doctor or even work in the medical field. There might be some health indicators your doctor is looking at which is why they want you to regain more so you need to be making sure your doctor is keeping you up to date about your progress and discussing what your next steps are.
Hi dear! First of all I’m so glad you found the video useful and inspirational to your own recovery. A BMI is a rough statement doctors use to put us into certain categories so it’s a general rule of thumb I’d say. But returning to your question - I have reached a normal weight in the ‘lower’ end meaning that I could stay like this technically but I know it’s so much healthier for my body, mind and long term health to gain a lot more so that’s what I’ve decided to! I haven’t relapsed, lost weight or anything at all but I just still need to remind myself to keep going!
@@katharinaschneiderrthat is so amazing! I feel for about 90% of people, the low end of the “healthy BMI” is way too low…most people still do not look well/healthy at the low end! And I read a study that 75% of women with a BMI between 18.5 and 19.9 do NOT get a period. So I feel like that is a huge indicator that those “healthy” guidelines are nowhere near healthy!
I agree. In Denmark, when you get admitted to eating disorder recovery units, they base the help you get on your BMI (aka categorise you into certain *health* boxes based) which in my opinion and from what I’ve experienced definitely didn’t help my own recovery. That’s also one of the main reasons why I quit the hospital and decided to take on recovery on my own because I’d only get help if I stayed at a low weight.. messed up!
I work full time at a restaurant 5-6 days a week when I don’t travel. I even made a video talking about it which you can watch here! ruclips.net/video/6MguJrxzwsE/видео.htmlsi=lj3BST8tb1oIRDQO

That’s also one of the main reasons why I quit the hospital and decided to take on recovery on my own because I’d only get help if I stayed at a low weight.. messed up!
Du er den sejeste sødeste dig

It’s daifuku! Mochi is the rice dough in which the ice cream is wrapped around, making it a daifuku!
how do you afford to travel so much?
I work full time at a restaurant 5-6 days a week when I don’t travel. I even made a video talking about it which you can watch here! ruclips.net/video/6MguJrxzwsE/видео.htmlsi=lj3BST8tb1oIRDQO
