thxs for posting, the musical result is really interesting, but I have to admit, what really kept me watching, was the performance in itself, the utilization of the gear for creating this sounds.
This is such beautiful new electronic music based on early pioneering experimentation plus more recent technology, the best of both worlds, as Luc Ferrari continues to forge new paths through infinite territory. Owes much to John Cage and a bit of Merzbow even. Nice. Super. Delicious. Inspires me to keep pushing.
Luc Ferrari doesn't say "indirect" which means nothing in that context. In french he says "en direct" which means "live", meaning that Otomo does today live, on stage, what they were doing 50 years ago in the studio.
