Easy Red 2 is such an overlooked absolute classic! A dream come true for all of us wishing to one day see ww2 battles with full single player support, that won't at all feel like typical battlefield style match, but rather an actuall battle in progression. Brilliant game!
We didn't know how good we had it with all those good games in the past. Still remember playing Medal of Honor on the PS1 as a child. That game made me a man, an 8 year old man.
Ain't we all deep down 8 year old men Paga? Makes me sad medal of honor is just gone now, was really tempted to replay front line making this video haha
Playing through Medal of Honor: Pacific. Never played as a kid. Only beat the first one and that was it until Call of Duty One. Oh and Battlefield 1942 at cyber cafes. You'd pay five dollars or w/e and you'd get 30-60min of play time at a station. If you didn't have a gaming pc, it was heaven. Was happy my Emachine could run Red Alert 2.
There isn't a burnout of WWII games, there's a distinct lack of good ones. People didn't like BF5 because it was a WWII game, they didn't like it because it was a bastardized take on the subject matter as a means to push a message. It's good to see games like this coming out.
This is a well put together video and I like how you went in depths explaining why Easy Red 2 is one of the best WWII shooters by comparing it to the old and modern day titles. You did a really goos job
I've been addicted to Enlisted, but this game could cure me of that. My favourite classic WW2 game was MOHAA, but I put the most hours into WWII Online.
First saw this on Steam a couple weeks ago, I haven't picked it up yet, but yes, this game does appear to be the spiritual successor to all those early 2000 WW2 shooters. With there also being a mission editor, I knew this game would be a winner. Glad to see your review. Hopefully this helps the game grow and the community to grow
Great and well put together video. Thank you for checking out and making a video for this humble game. As and old school gamer who played all battlefield games online and then got tired of how stressful online environment has become and wants to relax playing offline or in coop with friends, I'm really glad to have this little gem on my steam library. Don't forget to check out the upcoming Normandy DLC.
This game's mission editor is amazing, I love making maps with landing craft and parachute insertions. I really hope more people pick it up and make more workshop content, for how easy it is to make content for this game im surprised there isn't much of it uploaded right now
Call of duty 2. The first modern game I ever played, the reason my name is what it is, and probably one of the best ww2 campaigns I have played. Easy red 2 does not come anywhere close in my mind. However it does remind me a lot of starwars battlefront 1 and 2. Huge AI battles across massive maps, weapon selection based on class, vehicles that are fragile but can change the tide of a battle, some of the most brutal fast paced battles, detail without the absurd complexity of modern titles. As good as CoD2 was, battlefront 2 was a third of my childhood and to have a ww2 themed version of that is just awesome.
I've put a ton of time into this game, I honestly love it. I can totally see how other people might dislike it, but it fits perfectly into the niche of a game I always dreamed of as a kid - WWII FPS where the emphasis is on large scale operations, even if it doesn't look good or have the best gunplay etc.
Great review of the game, really like that you decided to show old shooters so for people who haven't played them they could still see how this game is an homage to them, personally i have 1200 hours in the game and it's probably my favorite game ever
Medal of Honor Frontline was the first game I ever played. It’s a certified hood classic 👌 I will always hold it in high regard because it introduced me to WW2 history and historical weapons as whole.
I don't understand how this game is dead.. I just bought it with all the DLCs for under 20 bucks.. It's genuinely great. The tank driving is fun, aerial combat is fun, flamethrowing on iwo jima is fun. We need more players!
Day of Infamy is another game like Battlefield 1942, but sadly didn't last long since it lost support and no more updates. Now with Easy Red 2 out, it will interesting to see how the devs can make the game even better than Battlefield 1942 and Day of Infamy combined, it will take time to see how the game will continue to develop though. Gotta keep my fingers crossed until then.🤞
Its been out for 3 years it gets updated regularly and the dev is extremely communicative there is a new dlc coming out adding the Invasion of Normandy
Damn you didn't need to hit me in the feels so hard... I was a kid when my brother came home with a brand new gpu (I suppose it was a Geforce 3 or 4, I must ask him), so we could try the Battlefield 1942 demo (Wake Island ftw), because our old videocard couldn't handle it, sky was purple and poligons were blue... We were blown away by the fact you could fly a plane in first person and shoot ground troops, who were actual players/bots iplaying the match... I absolutely need to try this Red 2!
I been playing a lot of this game lately. My only complaints are friendly AI driving the vehicles, it’s pretty horrendous. Other than that though I absolutely recommend.
Thanks for this video. Gonna give it a try since it is currently on sale in Steam. Are the servers still available or do we have option to play via LAN? This would be nice to play with my kids.
Thanks for this , I just heard about it on Reddit. You just described why I loved just 30 min ago playing it!!! Bought another copy for my switch, sadly lacking in a great new shooter. Plays great on my Xbox sx. Peace and love
i already played two of them except battlefield 1942. But most of all medal of honor frontline is pretty memorable for singleplayer, because that game is unique that combine some puzzles and action war. I remembered when i was kid, when you need to completed some objective i have to brought some translate book or ask to my mom about some english dictionary hahaha. It because my country not use english for main langguage and i am stil about 7 or 8 years old that time and have limited english dictionary. Also medal of honor rising sun is also prety decent like medal of honor frontline, and don't forget medal of honor vanguard that prety similiar like medal of honor airbone. To bad this franchise is almost done or dead, beside this franchise is also is make call of duty exist until now.
Ardennes DLC with French nation got recently released Considering that France is practically never shown in WWII shooters (except resistance) I see this game as the most diverse WWII game
Hell Let Loose is no slouch either. It has its problems like any game but still mostly the most immersive WW2 multiplayer experience I’ve ever… experienced lol. The only real setback the game has is the fact the game will only ever be as enjoyable as the people you play it with. If you’re playing with randos that do not use their mics then it’s a real slog of a game. On the other hand it’s a phenomenally immersive experience. I do wish the game had destructible environments though, that seems like a bit of a missed opportunity tbh.
Man i redownload medal of honor frontline and felt like a kid again, pc ps2 emulator, the graphic is meh but i still enjoy it, revisiting the childhood of doing nothing and no stress, also did beat nfs underground 2 also, the child in me is smiling
Burnout from world war 2 settings. Very accurate. They never give us other wars often. Give us world war 1, more Vietnam, desert storm, Iraq, Afghanistan- we have Medal of Honor for the last one, but that game shot itself in the foot when warfighter tried to do its own thing instead of staying grounded like the last game was. He’ll give us the pacific setting of world war 2 even. We always get Europe instead. There’s only 2 that I can think of based on the war with Japan. Rising sun and that other Medal of Honor game on pc
I love the concept but it didnt do ot for me. Its just not immersive like most ww2 shooters and just feels like a sandbox dumped with jalf decent AI and i can get involved.
tbh I didn't even know battlefield 1942 was on console....ooof I played it on my step dads pc and then the pc he got for the kids lol its what developed my idea of an ideal massive battle game and I got to play multiplayer too :D and vietnam was probably the best in my opinion the rest were pretty much trash
Normandy dlc comes out today as well, further expanding the game!
this is what got me looking for reviews =)
Which game?
@@gamevidz8763 Did you miss the title of the video? Easy Red 2
Brothers in Arms was another great, mostly forgotten WW2 gem.. 1st person shooter meets RTS-lite, squad commands, flanking etc.. well worth a play
Easy Red 2 is such an overlooked absolute classic!

3:26 “That was the last time I saw him” killed me
7:30 As a Easyred2 player and map maker I welcome you with open hands
MoH protagonist John Honor is an underrated joke.
I got this with DLCs for fifteen bucks, one of the best steals I had for a while, this game is surprisingly immersive and accurate.

Hidden and dangerous 2 from the mafia game devs (2k czech) is another classic piece.
Rainbow Six meets WWII. Amazing game.
always appreciate an honest, in depth game review.

i'm here when this guy at 300subscribers, see you guys on 1 Mil. Tremendous video quality!
Just bought this game last night gives me alot of fun fuel that other big titles don't
Hit me right in the nostalgia button! Great watch!
I hereby certify Easy Red 2 as a hood classic.

I don't know how you are so low on subscriber, this video is pure quality. Keep it up
Amazing video, i might start watching you more often.

Ooooh my memories ... As a clan we played CoD almost 4 years. Best ever..
Medal of Honor Frontline was the first game I ever played. It’s a certified hood classic 👌
I will always hold it in high regard because it introduced me to WW2 history and historical weapons as whole.
Duuude what you said about Pavlov was spot on! And I haven't even seen Enemy At The Gates! I just know exactly what you mean!
Rollercoaster of emotions through the entire video
I don't understand how this game is dead.. I just bought it with all the DLCs for under 20 bucks.. It's genuinely great. The tank driving is fun, aerial combat is fun, flamethrowing on iwo jima is fun. We need more players!
I agree it’s a fantastic game I been playing it when it first came out and have loads of hours cause it’s such a fun casual game
It's not dead. It's just everyone usually play single player missions or workshop missions.
ai audio has changged youtube forever
A lovely video. I enjoyed watching it!
You have made a great video review about Easy Red 2! I was kinda not sure if I would play it but after watching this video? I'm going to!
I miss the lab party days… that pizza, Mountain Dew, and playing all night were some good times ☺️ I hope those old friends are all doing well.

@@wharrrrrrg Yes, I saw the trailer for the new DLC. Looks awesome!👍🏼
Day of Infamy looks more like Day of Defeat Source than Battlefield
@@illHumiliation Or a WWII version of Counter Strike.
Good video man. I love the edits. Keeps the video entertaining
you deserve a lot more subscribers.
Once our boy Marco gets modding implemented this games gonna soar
very good review
nice review, gonna check this one out!

Yeah... Im very sure theyre reworking the AI after the TPS reanimations
Those were the days, days will never truly see
Appreciate the work you put into the Video 👍
really nice review!
Playing 1942 at the px "communication center" while training at Ft Sam Houston... good times.
Duuuude, custom maps? I used to play _Far Cry 2_ for hours a day, especially the map editor. Those were good times.
Easy Red 2 is my favourite ww2 game, hands down. Heard they might expand to the xbox platform next.
Thanks for this video. Gonna give it a try since it is currently on sale in Steam. Are the servers still available or do we have option to play via LAN? This would be nice to play with my kids.
Hey Sai, glad you are going to give this game a try with your kids, setting up multiplayer is very easy and straight forward. Enjoy!
Great now I'm all nostalgic. The production quality on this video 😮 Easy Red 2 should recognize you--just bought it because of this.
Well welcome to the game called easy read to a World War II strategy games A new DLC is coming out on June 6 it’s colder the battle of Normandy
Day of Defeat late 90`s in a network/games shop that had 2 dark rooms with 12 or 16 pc's
Thanks for this , I just heard about it on Reddit. You just described why I loved just 30 min ago playing it!!! Bought another copy for my switch, sadly lacking in a great new shooter. Plays great on my Xbox sx. Peace and love
Ram ranch during fighting in world war 2 is crazy💀
Brothers in Arms is included too
one of these days someone will do red orchestra 3
Hopefully, red orchestra could of easily added to this video, such an awesome game
I might get this game one day for my Switch.
3:36 John honor? I thought my guy was called Jimmy Patterson.

He is currently working on the Chinese aspect of the war
Just picked this up with all the dlc for $13
That call of duty sounds a fun game. They should of stuck around, im sure it would still be popular today.
Have you tried the developers pegasus bridge? New normandy dlc is really great, especially for workshop creators
I haven't yet, that sounds promising!
Good luck with your channel
You are right. Bad Company 2 is the best Battlefield and Vietnam has the most interesting setting for a Battlefield game.
the easyest red
The Big Book of British Smiles
Don't feel bad about diving straight into the ground. Many pilots in WWII did the exact same thing.
It was Jim Patterson, not John Honor.
John otter? lol. It was Jimmy Patterson in MOHF
So like I'm 7 minutes into this video when does the review actually start?
It doesn't actually start, sorry bud
For its time? Frontline is timeless in my book.

Easy red 2 looks great. Wish this was on console
The game gonna come to xbox, not sure about playstation.
it's on Nintendo switch
red orchestra 2 remake is needed
This is definitely an AI degenerated video, no way a human wrote and spoke this
Rare AI videos being right
This is a fun game, singleplayer focused one at that
This game reminds me of Insurgency playing against the Bots...which is cool ....no hackers
8:34 those defenses you put in the water are backwards.
This entire video feels like it was written in AI. Surely no one decides to write a script with absolutely zero personality.

Jimmy Patterson you mean and frontline didn’t age well? Wtf you talking about
Will it come to consoles?
Yep
Will take a while
Sad to see complete lack of focus on the Eastern Front.
I mean there were a DLC, Stalingrad
A big middle finger to the late Battlefield and Call of Duty games.
A F U to EA Games and Activision.
6:34 and still hasn’t talked about the actual game he’s reviewing
oomg i loved Pavlov
New video anytime soon?
You should check out hell let loose (even tho the state the game is in is uhhh not the best)
Is this AI narrator

An AI voiceover, seriously? Lame.
That’s not the case for Nintendo switch
You know what DOESN'T make for a great game review? Spending 40% of the video talking about other games.
Please tell me this isn’t in PC. Tired of these amazing shooters being on PC like Rising Storm. They belong on console god damn it !
Just play on any computer dude,my crappy laptop some how run it fine.
Edit:the game gonna come to xbox, not sure about playstation thought.
It is PC, but it is available on Switch and will be releasing on Console
