- - 3 bars of unsalted butter, 225 grams each
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/4 cup fresh milk
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 6 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Tips:
1. Vegetable shortening helps the mixture establish in hot temperature.
2. Heavy cream this will help the icing more stable and thick.
I can use this for 2 pcs 8x3 cake and 24 pcs cupcakes. You can divide the recipe into 2 if you find it overwhelming

I've been learning about butyercream lately for baking cakes and I've found everyone who does wedding cakes in hot and humid weather uses Italian Meringue Buttercream. It's made with a sugar syrup and whipped egg whites and butter.
Similar to the one I use. 1.5 cups butter. 1 cup shortening. Whip on high for 7 mins. Add 8 cups icing sugar, 1 tsp salt and a large pour of vanilla. Couple tbsp. Yes tbsp! Whip again on high for 7 more mins. Chefs kiss.

Crisco or Walmart's Vegetable Shortening in hot humid weather doesn't hold up BUT Walmart's other shortening and Sweetex are great.....thanks for the video.

Buttercup lng po and it absolutely worked. Actually kahit anong butter ang naghehelp maging silky sya is ung help ng heavy cream and kaya po sya nagiging stable is dhl naman po sa vegetable shortening any brand will do as long as tasteless and odorless

It it happens to you and u dont want to do this recipe, just buttercream lng, then add lng ng pateaspoon teaspoon ng freshmilk until u reach the consistency u want.. :)

You do realize that heavy cream means whipping cream, right? The little carton that you pour into a bowl and whip until it becomes whipping cream? THAT is actually heavy cream.
Just a couple of comments...while this looks nice and creamy, it looked REALLY soft. It did hold up pretty well but looked like it was starting to slide a touch. I will try this but do not know if I would say it is completely stable for that long. I think I would prefer it refrigerated, especially with that much milk and cream, and don't think I'd want to just let it sit in the sun, for the very same reason. Lastly...I am sorry but your music sounds like a porn film!! Doesn't help with the whistling at the end! If I were you, I would find something a bit different!
