  • "To Tell the Truth" was the very popular nighttime CBS series that ran from 1956 to 1967. This episode happened in the latter part of its run, airing on December 12, 1966. It's memorable for the appearance of Barney Hill, the first American (along with his wife, Betty) to publicly make claims of alien abduction. Theirs is a very good case, bolstered by evidence. Plus the fact that as an interracial couple in the 1960s they really had no incentive to want to go public with such a story. Only after their story had been leaked to the press did they confirm and expand on it. Barney died of a cerebral hemorrhage only a few years after this taping, on February 25, 1969, at age 46. Betty Hill died of cancer on October 17, 2004, at age 85, never having remarried.

    Holy crap! I saw this the first time it was on in 1966!!! I was 7! I haven’t seen this since then. I remember all of those old timey celebrities, and Tom Posten’ s remark about the binoculars. I was already waay into UFOs and aliens!

      It is sad. But Barney's memory lives on, as he is very much loved worldwide by the UFO community for sure.

    Barney died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Along with his ulcer, the experience affected him deeply.

    How interesting to see how serious it was treated back then. Thanks for posting Bryce and nice meeting you recently at IUFOC. Still waiting for my daughter to have time to sit down and watch the entire Dark Skies 30 episodes that I got from you at that convention. You did a great presentation as well and enjoyed by everyone! Look forward to seeing more great work from you esp. now that Disclosure has "slowly" begun via TTSA.

      FUCK you are all retarded....same time as the flinstones came out!!! Betty and BARNEY Rubble??!!!! idiots!.....social experiment of Black men and white women.....its a way of distracting from the truth...getting blacks and whites to breed together in the 1960s while focusing on "aliens" and not the fact that this was taboo....everyone talked about the UFO and not the race issue...hahahahah humans are so simple

    This was before all of silly faking of things like now. I have the book and watched the movie made about this sighting. I believe they both saw something amazing and I believe what they said.

    Like the fact some of the panel said they read the story but seemed not to recognize the guy who's face was plastered in so many magazines and newspapers.. But then seemed to "guess" who it was. Also the hills always claimed they did not wish any publicity of this event but constantly jumped at the chance to have any publicity like this show all the time.. what a total joke of it all.

    Thanks for posting, I was looking for this episode. By the way, the panelist didn't say these "short" humanoids were "5'8 or 5"9", he said they were "5'9 or 5'10". The panelist must have been brought up in a lanky neighbourhood!

      @@BryceZabel the hill incident was very popular because it seemed factual-the hills seemed like a believable couple who seemed to actually experience something very strange-lots of people back then, as is obvious by the panelists genuine interest, were indeed fascinated by the encounter

    Woah. Betty asked to bring back a book of sorts, but they couldn't read it. What happened to that unreadable 'book'??? I never heard about them taking anything, over except the knowledge of the star chart

    • @MrRaulstrnad
      @MrRaulstrnad 2 года назад +1

      betty asked the alien leader for some proof that she could show people the incident actually took place , the alien leader supposedly gave her book with strange writing that she could take with her, the alien leader then supposedly changed his mind saying that the crew didnt like the idea so he took the book back impostor number 2 obviously was briefed by the producers about the book incident but he got confused and said that betty and him actually had the book but couldnt read it if one believes the factuality of the hill incident-yes, the leader gave betty a book she could use as proof but then he immediately took it back so the hills ended up empty handed

      The memory of the book was recalled by Betty under hypnotic regression, and she recalled that the book was offered by one alien then taken off her as she left the craft with it. They never brought the book home, but the contents and glyphs contained in it were recalled under hypnotic regression. I’m pretty sure that was the story of the book. The star chart memory was later verified though by astronomers (via a school teacher doing a model of it), to be about zeta reticuli

      5'8.5 is the global average height for men. Shortness is relative to the height of the people in your part of the world. For example, I'm a 5'8.5 male, too, but I live in Wales, and most men here are in that range - see more guys below that height than above it.
