A lot of you guys ask me this question a lot and so I just thought I'd make a kind of guessing game out of it and tally it up. I tried my best not to miss or forget any but I am human. The girls' lip-syncing habits are not as simple as this video implies but I wasn't going to attempt to explain it in paragraphs on the screen so don't take these as a hard and fast rule. Some verses and adlibs were attempted live as well as being lipped so it depends on the tour date. That said, this is a pretty good indication of what the lipping situation was on the LM5 tour. And also, this isn't a debate. I watched every single tour date to learn what was lipped and what was live and then on top of that I went back and verified all of these clips to be lipped vocals while putting together this video. I didn't include it if I couldn't determine whether it was live or lipped. You don't have to like it or believe me but it's not a debate I'm going to have in the comment section.

People need to realise that lip syncing doesn’t mean the girls can’t sing or are not good. If they sing these notes live every night they would have severe vocal damage. We all know they are incredible live singers but sometimes it’s not always feasible
I used to be upset at the idea that they would lip sync but now I realised that they need to protect their vocal cords. I think it's also fair to lip sync some bits with the amount of dancing they do. Thank you for putting this together, it must have taken you ages 💜
And also this is probably hours of concert and for few days, they also dance, no matter how strong your stamina, performing non-stop like that will be exhausting so it's understandable to lipsync
Yes. I realized that it probably would take Olympic level stamina and endurance to sing live for 2 hours straight (that’s a minimum) and dance on stage and be expected to keep the crowd hyped! The girls deserve what’s best for them!
you know they're most of the time not lip-syncing studio version, but pre-recorded version, so from other concert or they record it before show, that's why you can hear them breathe, because they recorded it before.

For me were girls's lip-sync habits always very funny and weird. It's really funny how Perrie went for that G5 in Woman's World (6:38) but then lipped just a basic B4 in Reggaeton Lento. I As i want them to sing live the most how's possible, i absolutely agree how much they lip-syncing on their tours. They have a lot hard vocals and sing them every night would only mean damage their voices (Perrie from Get Weird Tour can tell) Also lip-syncing lines have a sense when they're dancing, like for example i can't really imagine anybody to sing Wasabi live with that choreo and not be out of breath whole time, or Power, Salute and Woman Like Me... you know i get this. But i think girls would be able to sing live more if they had better tour schedule, did you ever saw their schedule? They very often have 3 nights in row, then 1 day (max 2 days) rest and then again 2 or 3 nights in a row, this is absolutely exhausting (especially vocally). I think there should be bigger pauses between dates, for example if they performing Monday, next show should be Wednesday or Thursday and next show Saturday or Sunday. I think there should always be 2 days pause between dates. Look at for example Ariana Grande's schedule, it's much better. if she's performing 3rd April for example, next show is 5th or 6th April and next show after that is 8th or 9th April, it's much better, because she has always day off, so she can rest her voice for next show. This is something that Little Mix needs. I'm sure if they had bigger pauses between days they would not had to lip-syncing that much. With this schedule they have, i'm actually happy they're lip-syncing, if not after like 8-10 shows would be their voices gone. I really don't believe in Confetti Tour that much even though they'll be perfectly rested, because they'll have 28 shows in just 36 days, that's too much to handle. I really hope for change.
it seems like the girls have been vocally straining since glory days era (especially during capital summertime ball where you can hear them struggle live in nmss and power)… so it comes as no surprise that they gotta rely on lipsyncing to not damage their vocal cords anymore hopefully by confetti tour they are well rested and prepared to sing healthily again 🙏

(they’ve had a lot of vocal rest since the last tour but they still have so many arenas tour dates… i wish they did bigger venues so they wouldn’t get so sick all the time and maybe they’ll have time to go outside the uk…) i know some people are not happy with this video lol but don’t worry about it
Changes are they don’t get sick from singing. They take care of their voices in a very different way than we do with a bunch of different things. Most likely it’s also because of the traveling and the going around all the time. Different bacteria’s and stuff.
I don’t think venue size reduces their chances of getting sick that much. There are simply too many people and too many chances of getting exposed to germs. Although COVID protocols like mask wearing and hand sanitizing might reduce some chances of spreading germs. All love to them!

People don’t understand that jade sing a LOT of the adlibs and a bunch of the main harmonies. She also is the one taking the most risk in doing those adlibs next to Leigh Ann.(perrie does do most of the main high belts but those are mostly in her wheel house of vocals so I get her syncing for vocal Health too) but taking vocal risk on adlibs every show over and over is a lot on a voice so I get her lip syncing to protect herself
She does. It's actually quite obvious so I'm surprised that you didn't notice (Perrie "sang" her high note in Power while moving as if her life depended on it; it's impossible to sing that high with such intense movements without going off-key)

Thanks! This type of video is actually really hard and time consuming to do because of the research that goes into it. I watch every single tour date and compare the tracks back to back in order to figure out what's lipped and what's live. DNA and salute I likely won't do because there aren't enough videos of each date and the quality is usually pretty bad which makes it harder for me. GWT and GDT I would love to do but are really difficult because they were long tours and had afternoon and evening shows. I'm currently working on the SHT cause it's short and had a small-ish setlist and only did one show a day. I'm not sure honestly whether I'll post it because the reception of this video wasn't that fun but I am researching it right now.
I noticed that when they are lipping songs that have heavy choreo or such dancing, they move a lot but the quality of the sound remains stable. Makes sense I guess... Also, some lipped vocals defo sound like from a megaphone. 🤧
By listening to all 40 tour dates and comparing the tracks and hearing that the vocal is identical. Note changes or pauses just means it's pre-recorded instead of the studio track. You can pre-record literally anything
Most of these notes/parts they are lip-syncing are pre-recorded, so you hear note changes but at least they are trying and doing their best to not cancel their shows specially when they are sick like Jade. Sometimes you just have to lip-sync, specially on tours since you are singing high notes every single day and you can literally lose your voice perminently if not taking care of. But the fact that they pre-record the vocals so us mixers does not listen to basically the studio version is already good enough for when you have to rest or when you are sick.
They did a lot of lipsync maybe because they were being filmed for the lm5 dvd? And beside, i think thats okay because they dance around too its probably for their pitches' health. Anyways this is not a hate comment ❤

How are you certain that they're lip syncing. They normally sing the verses and sync the chorus(if all of them are singing it) other than that normally it's live.. apart from the one who left. Can always tell with her as she couldn't hold the mic right lol
I'm certain cause it's an identical track. Nothing more damning than an identical vocal night after night. Considering that this is a 90 minute concert you're right the verses are normally live, these ones aren't though (some of them were attempted live as well being lipped but were lipped the majority of the tour). Also the one who left sucks at lip syncing but while in the band she did it the least along with Perrie. Misinformation is annoying. Edit: And to your other comment. Yes, I'm well aware of how they train to build their stamina. Doesn't change what they decided to lip on tour.
You might've watched only one date of these performances, I suppose, because you can clearly hear the same tracks, specially for the high notes. Perrie and Leigh started to used their pre-recorded base for No More Sad Song in the Fusion Festival, and have been using it since then. It is almost impossible to such high notes sound exactly the same every single day.

Actually, told you soo is lip sync, just compare all of the attempts, sounds exactly the same, even the vibrato... but that doesn't mean that she can't do it

In no way could this video be career ending for them, no matter who finds it. Leigh is the worst vocalist in the group, I'm sure if you look at more dates she'll end up winning. Leigh is an amazing vocalist. And I looked at all 40 dates of the tour which you’d know if you read the pinned comment. She’s not even close to beating Jade who doubled her lipped tracks at the start of tour after she got sick and then only took them out for the last 4 tour dates. She lipped the majority of these more times than she didn’t but there were live attempts. Regardless of that though, don’t come for Leigh just because you’re biased towards Jade.
Jade doesn't even have the most solos wtf, they pretty much all have the same amount so that's just a lame excuse. And there's no "worst vocalist" in LM, all 3 have their strengths and weaknesses.

The fact is, they’ve had to sing that line to record it anyway, so lip-synched or not it’s still their voice. Don’t get all the fuss.
Some of them do not sound lip synched though.
But people give Jesy a hard time for lip-syncing, even though Little Mix did it for long enough. But I guess mixers here are nicer

Most of these notes/parts they are lip-syncing are pre-recorded, so you hear note changes but at least they are trying and doing their best to not cancel their shows specially when they are sick like Jade. Sometimes you just have to lip-sync, specially on tours since you are singing high notes every single day and you can literally lose your voice perminently if not taking care of. But the fact that they pre-record the vocals so us mixers does not listen to basically the studio version is already good enough for when you have to rest or when you are sick.

Identical track. I watched all 40 tour dates which is how I know. They use pre-recorded vocals instead of studio ones so it sounds more realistic.

They only filmed two tour dates for the lm5 dvd but they usually lip to avoid vocal strain or because of dancing.

How are you certain that they're lip syncing. They normally sing the verses and sync the chorus(if all of them are singing it) other than that normally it's live.. apart from the one who left. Can always tell with her as she couldn't hold the mic right lol
I'm certain cause it's an identical track. Nothing more damning than an identical vocal night after night. Considering that this is a 90 minute concert you're right the verses are normally live, these ones aren't though (some of them were attempted live as well being lipped but were lipped the majority of the tour). Also the one who left sucks at lip syncing but while in the band she did it the least along with Perrie. Misinformation is annoying.
Edit: And to your other comment. Yes, I'm well aware of how they train to build their stamina. Doesn't change what they decided to lip on tour.
You might've watched only one date of these performances, I suppose, because you can clearly hear the same tracks, specially for the high notes. Perrie and Leigh started to used their pre-recorded base for No More Sad Song in the Fusion Festival, and have been using it since then. It is almost impossible to such high notes sound exactly the same every single day.

But ever since jade responded to my comment years ago like we were besties, she has a special place in my heart. Anyways. She is a very talented vocalist I love her tone. But I do be noticing she be the main one when she can't sing 100 percent letting the crowd sing for her. Like there are so many instances on video where she's letting the crowd sing most of her solos. And it makes me wonder why does she struggle so much vocally more than the other girls. Like I know during glory days time she also had vocal issue right? And then lm5. I'm wondering if it's a technical thing she hasn't mastered yet. I’m a little bummed by how much was apparently lipped while essentially standing still by all of them but again, the culmination of it all I guess. I get winded doing a few flights of stairs so who am I to talk lol

That told you so high note sounded the same on every tour date. Jade has never been that consistent when it comes to her upper belts.

In no way could this video be career ending for them, no matter who finds it. The fandom needs to learn to get over this shaming of them when they lip sync as if it's a sin and yeah, I'm going to support them the way I want to and that includes the occasional lip sync video because I don't think it's shameful and I'm not going to be pressured into pretending they don't lip sync for the sake of appearances.

Leigh is the worst vocalist in the group, I'm sure if you look at more dates she'll end up winning. Jade just has the most solo parts, of course she's gonna "lip more"...the vocal track isn't there because they randomly decided to stop singing..pre recorded tracks are happening at every show with a good amount of dancing
Leigh is an amazing vocalist. And I looked at all 40 dates of the tour which you’d know if you read the pinned comment. She’s not even close to beating Jade who doubled her lipped tracks at the start of tour after she got sick and then only took them out for the last 4 tour dates. She lipped the majority of these more times than she didn’t but there were live attempts. Regardless of that though, don’t come for Leigh just because you’re biased towards Jade.

Jade doesn't even have the most solos wtf, they pretty much all have the same amount so that's just a lame excuse. And there's no "worst vocalist" in LM, all 3 have their strengths and weaknesses.
