I'd say it's a close tie between Mauvier and Marni I love Mauvier design and character alot he's such a great one and Marni is great her design is very cute and I love how her personality is the opposite it's so good.
If I think about it, I actually like Sombron because he is a Fell god, and to be honest, i like how his design looks like as similar to monster hunter dragon boss, yes I know I am a little bit off topic, but still in comparison I like Sombron's design!
Considering how tame Mauvier and Zephia were, I was expecting Marni to just be okay at most But not only is her stat spread very well optimized, not only does she have three Superboons, she can support, she has built in Miracle, she has flat DR, and she just gets extra stuff like Hexblade and flier effectiveness If she's pining for praise she's certainly getting some
I wouldnt really call Mauvier "tame", he came out while the Bonus meta was at its Peak; had nicely distributed stats, granted 2 really scarce statuses at the time; and scaled based on Bonuses like the Chroms (altho he had a limit sadly). But yeah Marni is on a league of her own lmfao
@@reishiki8682 Taking into account she has free miracle and post battle healing, her would be killer needs NFU and Fatal Smoke 4 to do so. Only times Marnie has died while going in Arena is after AT MINIMUM 3 BATTLES
She's already a +10 merge project for me. Her weapon is super good with support for allies and has Miracle, Flat DR, and 7hp restore, she is incredibly good defensive wise, and she's currently the highest scoring f2p arena unit. Sign me up!
Thank you so much for this guide PM1 I was looking forward to it as I love Marni and she's such a great f2p hero with her great weapon I'm so excited to build her and ur builds guide is just what I need!! :D What made me appreciate Marni even more as a character is her backstory it really reasoante with me especially now since not so long ago I lost my mother during heart surgery recovery and now I really feel how Marni felt she didn't get the mother love so she constantly seeks for it and now that's my mother is gone I feel the void she does.

Watch him get something to reference the fact that he had Celica in that one map. Just like How they gave Marni Miracle. He will likely have warping(aka the emblem Celica effect in his tome)
I like Marni as a character, so I’m happy that she got great treatment as a free unit, and one that scores really high, and I hope Madeline will get the same treatment in the future. Also Since Marni has the miracle because of Emblem Roy, I hope Diamant gets that as well whether it be his legendary version, or if he ever gets his Engaged Roy form added into the game.

Having a unit that just straight up NEEDS NFU to kill is wild. I could be wrong, but this feels like the only unit so far to require a specific skill, it's crazy. And after a unit like Marni, I am willing to bet that the 3H GHB next month will be basic Axe Infantry Raphael or Thales, the slow, Res-high infantry red tome #47. 😅
I have a feeling that Griss is going to be a colorless Tome user since it would mean every four hounds member covers a color type, which would be awesome since he would be the first colorless grail tome user. Hopefully IS would be generous with effects as well.

I have Rearmed Ophelia with ruptured sky, Flare, atk/res finish, magical NFU 4, Special Spiral, Null-C disrupt 4, and Time Pulse 4 so any time user can get great skills. I also have a Rearmed Lumera with Laguz Friend 4, Fortifications, Reopening, and Breath of life 4 which has been amazing for my omnitanks. And Rearmed Lucina with No Quarter, Atk/Spd Clash & Excel, Panic Smoke 4, and Incite Atk/Spd for my speedy cavalry units.
I really hoping Duo Fjorm will rerun on a NHR banner. Already sparked and won't gamble for another copy with Emblem Banner so soon. My best case scenario is spend a forma soul for B!Edelgard in November.
a Fun Fact: with the Dragon Flower Difference Gilliam also has 50 base Def and his statline is almost the same as Marni just changing 3 Spd for 3 Res (But she has a superboon and 3 on the weapon so she has more at the end)

Definitely gonna be building her as Far Save. With Lapis, Panette and Mauvier my core Engage units are melee defensive anyway, but what my Engage roster definitely lacks is a Far Save. Thankfully she has tools to do so, and eventually I'm planning to make her a Near Save as well for sure. Happy day.

I don’t think I’ll be building her personally cause I already got too many grail projects I need to do 😫 With how they’ve been treating the Hounds and all of them being pretty good in their own right, I’m so excited for Griss when he comes I’m expecting him to fully be an Atk Res oriented mage, but maybe they’ll pull something like Validar and make him slow with mixed bulk. And this may be a pipe dream request but I’d love if he was a colorless mage. He’d be our first F2P grail colorless mage and it would be great
Marni's PRF seemed amazing, esp for f2p, but I was on the fence of whether or not I wanted to build her as I'm pretty stingy w/my resources But after watching this vid and realizing just how great she really is, I am sold. So thanks for the fantastic vid as always, and for helping me to make my decision!
A great grail unit! And I love her design. Pretty cool. I also don't think Reopening is a bad B on her, seeing as we are already getting counters against defensive specials. I do not think we will be seeing counters against flat damage reduction any time soon and the damage reduction you get from Armored Blaze can be enough...except for Micaiah.
I feel like it's been a while since we've had an armored unit, let alone a free one, designed to be a straight-up tank the way Marni is. She may not have some of the more useful offensive abilities like DR-piercing or true damage, but that doesn't matter if she simply can't die very easily.
Very curious to see how she does against Ike and Felix, Gatrie has been my homie these past couple of weeks for just saying "no" to both of those guys in AR
She shouldn't be having much trouble with Shield Fighter. I fear for the AoE Felix matchup though. Will need Heidrun by her side. Even in Arena, Weaving Fighter is gonna be stopping annoying Celica Ring Felix who doesn't have NFU in his kit. She has the Miracle as a nice failsafe.
How can I pull on any of these new banners when IS isn't giving me enough orbs? You once mentioned on an older video that emblem heroes are must pulls for f2p accounts and an emblem banner is coming soon so what do if I've farmed all the orbs available?
Pick and choose 1-2 banners each month. Not everything is worth summoning on, no matter how shiny it is. Most units get hard countered pretty soon, more often that not. For building up free units, rely on your extra fodder/divine codes. Only go overboard if they are your BIG favorites!
Boy, that Stronghold and Reopening build looks scary to face against! This is such a good merge project! Would it be bad to use BOL4 instead of save skills? That makes her even more defence oriented and supportive...
BoL4 can work if you run her with Brave Soren and make her near save that way but otherwise, it's better to get the BoL support from other ally while running Save on her :)
Engage always seems to slap so it seems, Marni certainly deserves praise after this hell yeah, now to collect the skills necessary for making her a godslayer

Wait, I do have a spare W!Byleth and enough codes for the Y!Hector manual so I can actually go for that Arena build. I don't have a +10 armor yet because I'm not competitive, but I play Arena for fun and the weekly four orbs of tiers 18-20, and this Marni girl does look fun for general use as well. Still I feel like I should wait until I see what I get from B!Edelgard's HoF rerun because I have her at +5 and I might try to finish her if I get her an awesome ultra premium kit.
As of the last few months, is 1 mobility that much of an issue considering every Edelgard has Celica emblem and B!Felix exists with the same ring? All my last runs I have my units barely moving until the enemy is in range for me to snipe 😅

@Pheonixmaster1 Why not give her the full Brave Alfonse build? Fortifications Reopening Breath of Life 4? Sure, Stronghold would protect her from Panic and stat change, but i feel Fortifications could bring a nice support to other characters in Arena for example. Also Breath of Life 4 for even more HP
I wouldn't recommend Fortifications on her since you need to initiate combat first to make use of it. Unless you run her with Lumera or something, Fortifications is not very practical on armors that have non-existent player phase imo. Breath of Life 4 is definitely something you can run on her but she likes running Save skills and taking advantage of BoL from an ally ideally!
@@Pheonixmaster1 for AR/O she could be used as a warp beacon utilizing miracle to get low without dying, if you get her extra movement/pivot/heidrun. And then Fortifications would work well.
Thank god i have Winter Byleth manual and young Hector code for her I love her very much in the game But i wished they gave her hurricane axe and not just the adaptive damage as reference
My only issue is that they always give these good grail units really good weapons when they also have really good fodder. Marni has Atk/Def Prime, Panette has Panic Smoke 3, Glen has Flier Guidance and Wyvern Flight, Fallen Lloyd has Repel, Young Frederick has Atk/Def Clash, etc etc. They make it so hard to build them up when they're also the limited F2P option for certain fodder. I don't really have any armor projects to make, so I might merge her up, but I'm already trying to merge Panette as well, so I'm kinda torn with who I wanna build up first.
It doesn't fully stop it because Breath of Life 4 has Deep Wounds negation and the amount of healing you get from BoL is already absurd even if it's cut in half.
I've always been more in favor of G4 > SG just because armor units suffer from mobility far more than flying units, but it really depends on team comp and what you find more viable in your own personal preference.
@@Pheonixmaster1 irony as I'm complete opposite, since I've started around the time Ascended Idunn and Fjorm came out, I slap on the seal for movement to have both a near and far save at all times, though each has fallen off as they can't take a hit, imagine armors not being able to.... armor? I guess? it's crazy how inf have become the new armored units while armored units have love in small bursts. Sailor moo...... er... ice tribe Fjorm lived for 1 whole banner, then Fogado came along.... I feel like InSys just can't make up their mind whether to love or hate them. It's like they say "here you go, nice shiny new Fjorm with tier 4 hardy fighter known as shield fighter finally after all these years of patiently waiting for it". Literally next banner, "Psyche!!!! got ya, now here's the new unit that ignores being able to proc defensive specials and they have color advantage over the unit we gave you last banner, pay us more money you worthless plebs" and crap on our dreams. 😅 At least that's how I feel even though I'm not a Fjorm fan, but armored units in general.
You forgot another reason to invest, she's cute. Honestly I'm gonna build her up because she just looks so cute, love her cute twin drills and her artwork just looks all around adorable. I know nothing about her since I didn't play Engage yet too but I'm looking forward to building her up.

I wouldn't recommend it. While Shield Fighter is absurd, one copy of Duo Fjorm is extremely helpful and Marni is still a force to be reckoned with other skills like Reopening, Weaving Fighter & Venfeful. Even Hardy Fighter would work on her.
I've really not been enjoying arena with all the Felix running around and jumping me turn 1 so if Marni can manage to wall him somehow then you bet I'll be fitting her into the core somehow.
Hello there! Welcome! :D You get her by completing her Grand Hero Battle map in "Special Maps" section in "Battle". Her battle starts roughly in 12 hours from now :) Then you can merge her to +10 merge after 2 months in Grail shop by going to "Allies" > "Use Heroic Grails" Hope this helps!
Tomorrow, on the battle menu in the top right in "Special Maps" she should be the first option, you will need to defeat her and will get her 3* in the Hard fight, 4* in in the Lunatic fight, and another 4* PLUS 2k feathers in the Infernal fight. You will need to use 20k feathers to upgrade her from 4* -> 5* to accesses her premium weapon.

I’m expecting him to fully be an Atk Res oriented mage, but maybe they’ll pull something like Validar and make him slow with mixed bulk.
And this may be a pipe dream request but I’d love if he was a colorless mage. He’d be our first F2P grail colorless mage and it would be great

Marni's PRF seemed amazing, esp for f2p, but I was on the fence of whether or not I wanted to build her as I'm pretty stingy w/my resources But after watching this vid and realizing just how great she really is, I am sold. So thanks for the fantastic vid as always, and for helping me to make my decision!

A great grail unit! And I love her design. Pretty cool. I also don't think Reopening is a bad B on her, seeing as we are already getting counters against defensive specials. I do not think we will be seeing counters against flat damage reduction any time soon and the damage reduction you get from Armored Blaze can be enough...except for Micaiah.

I feel like it's been a while since we've had an armored unit, let alone a free one, designed to be a straight-up tank the way Marni is. She may not have some of the more useful offensive abilities like DR-piercing or true damage, but that doesn't matter if she simply can't die very easily.
Very curious to see how she does against Ike and Felix, Gatrie has been my homie these past couple of weeks for just saying "no" to both of those guys in AR
She shouldn't be having much trouble with Shield Fighter. I fear for the AoE Felix matchup though. Will need Heidrun by her side. Even in Arena, Weaving Fighter is gonna be stopping annoying Celica Ring Felix who doesn't have NFU in his kit. She has the Miracle as a nice failsafe.

How can I pull on any of these new banners when IS isn't giving me enough orbs? You once mentioned on an older video that emblem heroes are must pulls for f2p accounts and an emblem banner is coming soon so what do if I've farmed all the orbs available?
Pick and choose 1-2 banners each month. Not everything is worth summoning on, no matter how shiny it is. Most units get hard countered pretty soon, more often that not. For building up free units, rely on your extra fodder/divine codes. Only go overboard if they are your BIG favorites!
Boy, that Stronghold and Reopening build looks scary to face against! This is such a good merge project! Would it be bad to use BOL4 instead of save skills? That makes her even more defence oriented and supportive...
BoL4 can work if you run her with Brave Soren and make her near save that way but otherwise, it's better to get the BoL support from other ally while running Save on her :)

Wait, I do have a spare W!Byleth and enough codes for the Y!Hector manual so I can actually go for that Arena build. I don't have a +10 armor yet because I'm not competitive, but I play Arena for fun and the weekly four orbs of tiers 18-20, and this Marni girl does look fun for general use as well. Still I feel like I should wait until I see what I get from B!Edelgard's HoF rerun because I have her at +5 and I might try to finish her if I get her an awesome ultra premium kit.

As of the last few months, is 1 mobility that much of an issue considering every Edelgard has Celica emblem and B!Felix exists with the same ring? All my last runs I have my units barely moving until the enemy is in range for me to snipe 😅
I'm obligated to build her because I have both Zephia and Mauvier at +10, but even if I didn't I'd build her anyway just by how good she is. I hate to say this, but I think Brave Edie out of a job now.

Sure, Stronghold would protect her from Panic and stat change, but i feel Fortifications could bring a nice support to other characters in Arena for example. Also Breath of Life 4 for even more HP
I wouldn't recommend Fortifications on her since you need to initiate combat first to make use of it. Unless you run her with Lumera or something, Fortifications is not very practical on armors that have non-existent player phase imo. Breath of Life 4 is definitely something you can run on her but she likes running Save skills and taking advantage of BoL from an ally ideally!
@@Pheonixmaster1 for AR/O she could be used as a warp beacon utilizing miracle to get low without dying, if you get her extra movement/pivot/heidrun. And then Fortifications would work well.

But i wished they gave her hurricane axe and not just the adaptive damage as reference
My only issue is that they always give these good grail units really good weapons when they also have really good fodder. Marni has Atk/Def Prime, Panette has Panic Smoke 3, Glen has Flier Guidance and Wyvern Flight, Fallen Lloyd has Repel, Young Frederick has Atk/Def Clash, etc etc. They make it so hard to build them up when they're also the limited F2P option for certain fodder. I don't really have any armor projects to make, so I might merge her up, but I'm already trying to merge Panette as well, so I'm kinda torn with who I wanna build up first.

Fatal Smoke 4 doesn't stop the healing of Breath of Life 4?
It doesn't fully stop it because Breath of Life 4 has Deep Wounds negation and the amount of healing you get from BoL is already absurd even if it's cut in half.
I've always been more in favor of G4 > SG just because armor units suffer from mobility far more than flying units, but it really depends on team comp and what you find more viable in your own personal preference.
Indeed, it's just that...I thought I would never use an Armor in my arena core due to how painful they are 😔
@@Pheonixmaster1 irony as I'm complete opposite, since I've started around the time Ascended Idunn and Fjorm came out, I slap on the seal for movement to have both a near and far save at all times, though each has fallen off as they can't take a hit, imagine armors not being able to.... armor? I guess? it's crazy how inf have become the new armored units while armored units have love in small bursts. Sailor moo...... er... ice tribe Fjorm lived for 1 whole banner, then Fogado came along.... I feel like InSys just can't make up their mind whether to love or hate them. It's like they say "here you go, nice shiny new Fjorm with tier 4 hardy fighter known as shield fighter finally after all these years of patiently waiting for it".
Literally next banner, "Psyche!!!! got ya, now here's the new unit that ignores being able to proc defensive specials and they have color advantage over the unit we gave you last banner, pay us more money you worthless plebs" and crap on our dreams. 😅 At least that's how I feel even though I'm not a Fjorm fan, but armored units in general.

I wouldn't recommend it. While Shield Fighter is absurd, one copy of Duo Fjorm is extremely helpful and Marni is still a force to be reckoned with other skills like Reopening, Weaving Fighter & Venfeful. Even Hardy Fighter would work on her.

I am a semi-whale, but I will seriously consider investing in Marni as a Near Savior. She complements Duo Fjorm very well.
I like Marni, but I prefer Panette who I think is a little more versatile, so I'll stick with her as my new grail project.
I've really not been enjoying arena with all the Felix running around and jumping me turn 1 so if Marni can manage to wall him somehow then you bet I'll be fitting her into the core somehow.

You get her by completing her Grand Hero Battle map in "Special Maps" section in "Battle".
Her battle starts roughly in 12 hours from now :)
Then you can merge her to +10 merge after 2 months in Grail shop by going to "Allies" > "Use Heroic Grails"

Tomorrow, on the battle menu in the top right in "Special Maps" she should be the first option, you will need to defeat her and will get her 3* in the Hard fight, 4* in in the Lunatic fight, and another 4* PLUS 2k feathers in the Infernal fight. You will need to use 20k feathers to upgrade her from 4* -> 5* to accesses her premium weapon.

Def/Res is the best combo for her including in Arena.
Back to back amazing f2p axe engage units...now that's a nice problem to have!
