change your compression settings before sending it. you are encoding in h.264 which means you are compressing before sending. but that tells us nothing about the video bitrate or what software you are using to compress, if not the camera itself. if you are not using software figure out if its your camera compression. when you compress if you dont have an option like "keep same as source" you will need to find advanced options or get better software. if u are using constant bitrate make sure the bitrate is ~40 Mbps across the board. variable bitrate (VBR) compresses blacks/flat colours where it can, not that this will affect overall sharpness much because your footage is relatively well lit. that colour patchyness on your sweater/wall is compression artifacts. if using variable select a range of ~20Mbps(min)-40Mbps(max). even if the file is big and takes longer to send, at least it will minimise reduntant compression once it finally gets to youtube. again check your software/camera to see where the problem lies. it doesnt take a genius. experiment until you get the lowest bitrate without the video looking like poo. this will obviously reduce overhead and improve upload times. keeping the same as source/increasing bitrate through software will be useless if your camera is compressing - i think the camera is the culprit considering you have no idea why its happening. if you cant edit advanced settings on the camera, turn compression off and use software like wondershare or movavi on your pc. (take these recommendations with a grain of salt as they 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞! i do not use dedicated compression software as i work with raw footage until rendering.) I assume you are sending the files through a secure cloud drive such as google or onedrive? dont use generic sites that are for sending video files as they will likely compress to save bandwidth on their end unless stated otherwise.
