- Saint James the Ascetic (or Faster) was an ascetic monk who reached great heights of spiritual virtue, even becoming a wonderworking.
However, those at greater heights have longer falls and after succumbing to terrible sins, James was on the brink of despair, but his life shows that we should always have hope we can be forgiven, so long as we repent.

The more lives of saints I hear, the more I wish there were lots of movies based on them. These lives would make for powerful films. Imagine how far these powerful stories could spread to the general public in the form of popular movies, inspiring repentance and new or renewed faith in God if, instead of the MCU, we had a constant stream of the lives of saints! If I had the skills and resources, I would do it myself. Alas, I do not.
I wonder... what is it about Hollywood that precludes them from telling these beautiful stories of our Christian Saints 🤔
@@bonniegadsden9097 Yeah, I do wonder. I'm tapping my nose as I ponder the answer.
Agree, the lives of the Saints in film or Netflix form would be quite instructive and edifying to us faithful! “Man of God” was quite good, incidentally. ☦️🙏🏻
Man of God- watch that..also watch Padre Pio
@@bankaihadouken1180Padre Pio is amazing, and I love how down to earth he was. I was raised by the public school system and media and all the Freemasonic antiCatholic rhetoric and historical lies. Then ended up becoming Christian and landed with Old Calendar Greeks who think Catholics have no grace. But Padre Pio had much medical documentation. His fevers on Fridays would break the thermometer and doctors said nobody should be able to survive that much blood loss, especially from his side. And he knew people's sins, clairvoyant, and brought many back to God. There was no airy fairy spirituality with him, he was so down to earth. A man told him he was having a spiritual crisis and he said "What spiritual crisis?! You're cheating on your wife and an adulterer and a pig!" He was also very strict about modesty. The Vatican 2 stuff is like a different religion from that of Padre Pio.
This was amazing brother. Thank you so much☦️
Where can I find this icon?
thanks :)
Saints like this give me hope.
an amazingly poignant story. thank you for the video, i do hope you'll make many more!
Thank you!
The current plan is a weekly video every Thursday, so many more to come!
v interesting parallel to Frank Attwood altho the model here as with David seems to be ,,, from Up high ,,,fall from grace via fornication and murder ,,, self punishment ,,, God sees and delivers mercy
A truly helpful example. Helps me broaden my understanding of the limitlessness of God’s mercy, as he went from positive extreme to negative extreme - and still was forgiven.
Inspiring story
very nice and enjoyed storytelling
Thank you mr Grav for another beautiful vid :)
Good video, your voice is quite relaxing
What a great channel, keep up the work.
Thank you! Will do
I liked the parallel to King David. Great job, man!
Thank you!
Good 👍 makes me feel a lot better about my own sinn
I heard a familiar story from a Islamic video a month ago, it makes me wonder if the story from the Islamic video I watch is related to saint James 🤔. Related to temptation things and killed a woman.
May God forgive us in our sins
Wow, great video Grav. Thanks.
