I'm from India and I don't have any shame in admitting when it comes to rock, India is way behind Pakistan. And this band, Call is my all time fav..this just rocks u
Jillawatan means "exiled from the motherland" and the Call is one of the origanl rock bands in Pakistan. Been a great great fan of the vocalist "Junaid" he's amazing and you guys are absolutely love. Thanks for amazing reactions.
Jilawatan is translated as "Exiled". Talks about his heart and soul whining to get buried in his own land,wants it to be his final resting place.Calling on his land to grant him his wish . Second stanza is kinda like "I have made a vow and promise to myself to die in my land,now would stay in my land, try to adorn and build it till the day I am no more & wishing for this to help heal his wounds.
Who else remember this band from childhood back up to 10 years ago. ..

This is a reality show like X factor where bands compete to get the title of best band of Pakistan.
All performances are live in front of live audience. This band is Call one of the most iconic bands of Pakistan! This is thier comeback performance. The singer is Junaid Khan he is one if the best vocalists and TV actors of Pakistan. You should check out thier songs like 'pukaar', 'sab bhula ke'.

Wow, this is the first time I heard CALL singing live. What a level of music, very strong, excellent example of rock. This is probably the best music I have heard from any band of Pakistan. I am just talking about MUSIC here, not considering lyrics or quality of vocals but just the music itself has killed everything.

This band played live in Oslo in august, and totally killed it, where this version of the song was played for 15 minutes or so, and likke u said, you dont want this to end ever!!
You have been doing some covers of Nescafe Basement, and the guy on the guitar in this video, Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, he is the rock god in Pakistan, and also the music producer/Director of Nescafe Basement.

Hira Sameer - oh Yes They do perform together. They Got together a year back or so, and have been doing live gigs in Pakistan. Have Done several. They were amazing in Oslo. It was a Dream come true for me, seeing them, meeting them. Got to even see them Jam for the concert, which was prolly the best musical thing I have ever witnessed

You've actually heard nearly all of these guys before. The lead singer, Junaid, was in coke studio last season (Main Raasta). The lead guitar, Xulfi, is the one who produced all 4 seasons of Nescafe Basement (Sweet Child of Mine, Larger than Life). Some of the band, including rhythm guitar, violin and drums joined the band from Basement as well.
It was a treat watching u guys react to this. What an amazing performance by this Pakistani band. Goosebumps
Pakistan Zindabad, Call ft. Drummers of Pakistan.... this is what you need to hear... right up your alley with hard core rock and a true reflection of Pakistan's talent....... recommendation level 11 out of 10......

1. One of the oldest Pakistani rock bands.
2. Junaid (vocalist), He's that same guy who sang in Coke Studio with Momina Mustehsan. (Main Rasta - reviewed last year)
3. Xulfi (Guitarist), Music Director/Producer of Nescafe Basement.
4. Bilawal Lahooti (Drums) & Sharoon Leo (Violin) are from Nescafe Basement.
This band was reunited last year after a long long time!!

Coke Studio mostly works on older or classical songs with new music composition where there are mostly recognized singers while Pepsi battle of the bands is like BGT or AGT Auditions....... and "JILAWATAN" means when you throw somebody out of his own country.

You guys should also check out the band 'Roots' that participated in Pepsi Battle of Bands. People didn't like them much because it was not the conventional Pakistani music type. But perhaps you will like them.
