Me too, 166mhz Pentium, and Commanche i was lucky to have soundcard and speakers so many times i finished the game. And at same time i played Armored Fist 2 also great game

Definitely, While doing this model and researching Commanche i come to conclusion that it was to it was to advanced. Even now there is nothing serious to challenge Apache. Russian Havoc come to mind maybe.
Yes, i agree :) when doing research for this project , the conclusion that i made is that its to advanced there is nothing really like this , there is hardly anything to challenge apache.

This helo if it wasnt canceled would have a totally different role than apache, it would be used for a low altitude deep infiltration so it can get intelligence and pass it over, additionally it obviously carries a fair amount of armament so if its engaged it can defend itself against both air and ground forces, and also enough so it can potentially engage some top important target that may have been picked up during that reconnaissance.. The reason this was canceled was because a) there were already better and cheaper alternative projects for this role, like the UAVs and other stealth aircraft, b) it already costed way more money for an unfinished project and it would cost even god knows how much more if it continued, and money is a much bigger factor than anything else really and c) yet again the money problem where production cost of these toys would be astronomical considering its a helicopter type which you dont really need.. I agree tho its sad, the design is super cool, the technology as you mentioned was also top notch for that time and it truly would fit among the most advanced military hardware that both countries posses RN, it would be amazing to see this beatiful piece of "art" on the shows and such
Oh God! It is THAT mind-blowing presentation from Comanche 3! All spirit of stealth-chopper flight from 90-s rised high in my memory. Although this animation is not so accurate in following the original soundtrack and some effects of model, even the opening frames themselves gives huge goosebumps! Glory to Sikorsky Aircraft and its marvelous creations, and thank you RaPtOr9600 for all that precious memories and happines you brought to us with your CGI masterpice.

While creating project i at least 50 times played the whole clip and never got tirred od it. i first watched this on my P 133 mhz and even on early stage of creating model, when gathering information and blueprints on Commanche i know that i need somehow to include this narration.

Very strange decision, after so many years of development to cancel it. My opinion is that they think that Apache is more cost effective. That is what i concluded during my research of the Comanche.
