We bought a 2022 TB290 on steel tracks and It's impressed me in every aspect of our use. I've ran excavator mulchers and dedicated machines on our ROW clearing contracts for over 25+ years. By far my favorite excavator under 100hp and under 20000lbs. We got 41" Loftness battle axe that pairs well with ours. Absolutely love it.
Is amazing how those minis can do . We just bought a bobcat e85 is not new but we can start with that and then if we get more jobs start buying more minis.
Video got me excited. Our new 306 Cat is still 2 months out but is coming with a Rotobec rotating grapple. Went rigid mount, hoping I won’t regret that.
Looks like a pretty sweet machine. I'm actually "renting" my cousin's Cat 306 right now. I have limited experience with mini-excavators but this Cat is very impressive so far.
I've 7700 hours on mine , the usual maintenance done over time. I was digging all weekend and I couldn't help but think she's the best machine I've ever bought .
I've got a wacker neuson 6003 6 ton machine. I get 103 litres a minute at the boom. It runs a yanmar motor as well, they are rock solid. It came with a 25 mil case drain from factory, every machine should. Awesome video.
We run a fleet of Takeuchi machines at work, excavators and skid steers. The biggest being the TB1140 series 2 and the smallest being a TB153FR. They are sweet smooth machines punch well above their classes and general build quality is way better to. We had Kubota and komatsu before and found the Kubotas were rather cheap compared to the Takeuchi in terms of build quality and size of things like cylinder size amount of steel in the joints etc. We do a variety of work with them, everything from clearing to excavation as well as road and bridge works. We have about 21000 hours collectively across our machines and no major failures. Actually the only failures we've had are on the TL10 and that was the radiator fan and water pump on the Kubota engine.
I have the same machine. Pretty happy with it. Only issues was a few blown hoses and one track broke. Of course it was all "wear items" so with only 600 hrs I wasn't happy about that but the machine does run great and performs well.
Honestly man after having a yanmar engine you will learn how much quieter and nicer they are over the kubota. When Texas had the almighty freeze last year my Takeuchi track loader (Kubota engine), and Branson Tractor (Mitsubishi engine) would not start, but my TB240 with the yanmar fired right up in -2 degrees. Both good engines but yanmar is way more fine tuned.
So pumped you got the 290,we have an older tb070,17,000 lb,rubber track ,blade, thumb on foot pedal, plumbed for extra beyond thumb, dual lift pistons, great, great machine!!! Had it 12 yrs now,I've run alot of kubotas, more than most but I love out tb070,she not going anywhere
I've had a TB285 since 2012 and still love it. I have a Ryan's fixed rotating grapple saw and stump grinder (obviously separate attachments) that you might be interested in viewing. I'm new to commenting on RUclips so I don't know if it's politically correct to say this, but if you go to Colby Land Works and the TB285 playlist you can see some very crude videos. I also changed out the high flow auxiliary spool a couple of years ago and documented the results. Now get 37 gpm out at the end of the stick.
Bought a 2021 tb290 last March (2021) love it, I Do retaining wall work, the reason I bought the 290 over the 08-80 was lifting capacity tested on site the 290 was just smother and lifted more at full reach...
@@VBELTandSON then they must contact a dealer in the Netherlands because we have plates of 20, 30 and 40 cm thick and that is between 250 and 500 kg extra weight on the back of the butt
Wow, Morgan, 12 now, and I think you are going to love spending time in that nice cab! Are you keeping the Kubota as a backup and to drop at sites so you can work more than one place at a time?
Bob cats have cooling issues and hydraulic flow issues. Local ish bobcat dealer is fully stocked with all models. Which is weird considering no other brands have anything available. No one buys them much around here anymore
We have two Takeuchi Mini Excavators 1- TB40, 1-TB60, TL-8 TrackLoader, a New Track Loader Bobcat which I tried to sell back to Carleton Equipment where we Bought it mainly because it can’t Touch the TL-8 let alone the TL-10 for which it’s equal size too.
seen this on other brands with dpf re gen units if you do not run them at or over a set engine rpm they will give you re gen troubles one that comes to mind is the tym tractor if you do not run them at around 1625 rpm the will not re gen correct and will go to limp mode
Hey Sam....I have ur identical trailer and it needs to be around 9 when very heavy to stop well. I'm running a 14 ram 3500 dually. Did u say 4.5 stops your trailer well?!
Nice machine.... I looked at that machine awhile back. I've got the kubota kx057-4 now and thinking of getting something larger. But small enough for residential work. You did a video at your friends house on the cat 310..I can't even find one to look at. I'm sure the 290 will be a nice addition to your family of machines.
You will like the Takeuchi they are very reliable and they tend to hold their value. We have the little TB016 which we purchased to use in the confined property plots here in the UK and that has dug many footings without any real problems. It has certainly paid for itself and continues to do so.
@@VBELTandSON It wouldn't be a deal killer for me, with how the brands compete on shiny options its just surprising to me. From what I can tell the Takeuchi are well ahead of the others on hydraulic flow, sadly for me the dealer support just isn't available where I live or they would be on the short list.

Takeuchi created the mini excavator

Vbelt and son balling out. Just dropped over a quarter mil on trucks and equipment. 🤘🏻
Any plans on putting some forestry guarding on it? Screens, side guards
We just got a link belt 80 and love it but that tak looks pretty smooth and strong. Cat wanted an arm and a leg for their machine lol
You pay a bunch for just the name with cat
Good looking machine. Was hoping to see some video of the old 3500 towing it also. Hopefully we can get some in the future.

Little wheel loader we have has a 3 cylinder yanmar. Sucker is the worst cold blooded thing ever. Lol shakes the whole machine at idle lol
@@VBELTandSON brother that’s good to know, I was watching some of your vids on that little blue machine and was thinking about buying one!!!!

Congrats on the new machine! Looking forward to more videos with it
New rig day, jealous!
Congrats.
Is that the new tacheuchi quick attach. If so how do you like it. Looking at a 260 now
You have you have extra counterweight plates for a tb290 that you have to screw under the engine
Dealer didn’t have anything like that. Only thing they found was a bigger counter weight
@@VBELTandSON then they must contact a dealer in the Netherlands because we have plates of 20, 30 and 40 cm thick and that is between 250 and 500 kg extra weight on the back of the butt
Awesome new office.
Wonder whether there’s Hitachi model exactly like that.
I’m not sure. Not many hitachi machines in my area
Nice!!!, How much did that!, Set you back$$??. Cool vid too.
I like your trailer, whats the gvwr on it? im looking to buy a tb290 but need to know wht size trailer I shoul buy to move it with
30k trailer. Just about right for the 290. Works great. Still room to grow also
What size and trailer you pulling that with?
Congratulations on the new unit .It sure is a beauty !
Congrats Sam, I think you're going to appreciate the 290 over the 080, not bashing Kubota, I own a couple myself but the 290 is a hoss.
Wow, Morgan, 12 now, and I think you are going to love spending time in that nice cab! Are you keeping the Kubota as a backup and to drop at sites so you can work more than one place at a time?

All important question #1... what does boom think of it?...
Great video Sam
Congratulations! Those are some nice smooth machines
Take a look at the Yanmar at all?
Not really no dealer support
What’s going to happen to the 080
Keeping it

Did you see if under the counter weight had any taped holes that a slab of steel could be bolted to?
Congratulations Sam ! That’s a really nice machine 💪🏻🙌🏻
Surprised the one way bypass valve is manual on this machine the new Hitachi, and Kubota are all electric, and I'm pretty sure the cat is as well.

How do you like the stump grinder? Getting rid of the kabota? Nice machine !!!!! And it's not over weight unless a ticket involved.....lol
Heck yea bro congrats
nice new machine
what made you go with the tak instead of another kubota?
Congratulations!
I'm happy for you... sort of... lol
how much was it?
Nice machine Sam! I have the tiny version of that. Why do you care about counter weight when you have the blade to put down to keep it from rocking?
Counter weight is nice to keep the machine more stable no matter what way you’re pointed
I have that exact machine but with just over 5k hours.still has the same great power
Nice ! good for you
Will attachments interchange with the Kubota?
Nice machine! Time to line up next to Tavit’s 310!
Sam get information , thanks. What’s the ballpark range just for the machine?
Nice unit 👍
Hell Ya Brother!
I liked seeing the little guy in the reflection in the glass!
Very cool! It looks very well built, even extra large gusseting in the channel stock! Looked like Calahan liked it too!! 8) --gary

Looking forward to seeing videos with the new machine!
TB 290 is actually 18500 lbs not 21k
Hate when the sticker isn’t accurate
