The only issue I have with this is the concept is the same as giving away free drug to make that person hooked up on it.
The main issue with Regal Aya is that people used to but prime vault or prime access to get the items free themselves of grinding AND get some plat as well.
With new system you have more choices but at a cost of not receiving any plat and just mere Endo (which is easily farmable even compared to relic openings).
So the main issue is that same prices but no plat given to buyers which means in the long run it COULD lead to a shortage of plat and either is countered by -50% or -75% discounts or the prices of ALL items will go up.
One thing everyone keeps forgetting: Prime warframes and weapons can be farmed anyways, very easily at that with the prime resurgence. Which means the only REAL reason to use Regal Aya is for prime armor and prime sigils and stuff. Cosmetics, mostly. Which means that no one needs to actually the items in the game apart from cosmetics (and the distilling extractor).
This is a surprisingly good idea! I hope they implement something similar to this.
The event was setup so it would be an easy transition to mobile gaming. Yeah getting something for free cool, but nothing is free in life.

what's unreasonable is the fact that buying regal aya instead of prime vaults is literally robbing your own wallet my dude.

Great point of view and I totally agree. As being a long time player of warframe I have all the prime frames and most of the weapons but seeing the chance to pick up prime armor sets has me excited. You're right one of the main reasons I stop playing certain games is because they started focusing on the money grabs instead of gameplay. Warframe collects money to better enhance the game play experience and the daily login rewards are a nice bonus, as are the lotus alerts, twitch drops and holiday events. 2 free premium tokens would be nice but I've played games that treated the player base worse. Love your videos
Interesting idea Reaper, I don't see DE changing prices and/or adding plat to the prime packs after their response 2 days ago so this is the most probable "cool gest" they could do for the players to calm them down.
I disagree with giving free regal aya for one reason , PA accessories were cash only and should stay cash only . Giving some regel aya for free would be unfair for all people who paid money in the first place .
What DE needs to do is reduce regal aya price or add in some platinum .
Even with 2 free regal Aya. The thing that makes everyone mad who was planning on buying them calculated the value lost of not getting the platinum. If they increased how much regal Aya you got per pack or cut the packs price down to match the value lost of not including plat then more people will be paying.
I also understand that as the years go by prime access will be getting more expensive and these packs probably reflect that. But DE should do it in small amounts not a massive value lost in one go. Like subtract 40 plat or so from the cheapest option and so on.
I'm ok paying money for these things because I spend an equivalent amount of time in the game chatting and playing. But as a business you can't shock your customer base with a massive price hike or value lost. Has to be done over a period of time

Had one of the best currency plans.....Those days are gone. I paid hard cash for my plat. Not everyone has time to sit in trade chat for hours. We have Jobs and Lives.

My theory:
The prime cosmetics have been a cosmetic reward for supporting DE. it's akin to a supporter's pack. That is why we can't buy it for plat.
Technically DE doesn't lose money by using plat, that plat has been paid for by someone, but its about players being able to show off they've directly supported the Developers.

The problem with how Trade Chat is set up is it's an absolute flustercuck of a mess. Trading needs some method of streamlining for example a Trade Board from Path of Exile or dedicated channels for what you are trying to sell e.g. Liches/Rivens/Primes/Mods/Relics/Mics Parts/Misc Items.

Plat thats tradable (and is effectively 99.99% of plat in the player economy) is unspent cash already deposited in DE (or tencents) wallets (the only time players trading something for plat isnt effectively players just trading items is when the plat is bought from DE and when a player spends that plat on DEs in game shop). Removing it from the player economy is effectively a purchase of equivalent plat OR BETTER as long as the game isnt dead because of the effect plat deflation/reduction of circulating currency has on the players themselves.

The problem is that cosmetics just cost too much now, 20 bucks for an armor when I could’ve gotten 2 accessories + 200 play for the same price? Crap
I like your idea but honestly its still a cash grab, even considering how beneficial aya's revenue would be to the company for a time, players supporting this event with money are going to make more events like this come up more often because of its short term benefit to DE. Itll just become a cycle we as its player base have to deal with.

I respectfully disagree. I don't see it as a cash grab. The only reason to buy Regal Aya is for the vaulted cosmetics. The other option is to keep the current system...you still have to pay money for the cosmetics. The difference being the absence of boosters and plat with the purchase, but I think that is accounted for in the pricing (please correct me if I'm wrong), since Prime Access is $80 and Prime Accessories Pack is $60...on PS4 at least.

TBH it's true that regal aya is kinda useless in getting g bundles but with prime accessories is the right thing cause it costs way less if you just want prime access stuff and maybe yes it's a good idea to give 2 for free but thing is it'll be unfair for those who actually spent money to get those prime accessories in first place. Though won't deny the regal aya bundles are shit now.
Thats also better than the 50 plat for new accounts. Still doesnt compare to the much worse deal of not getting any plat when buying the RA no matter which pack you compare them to.

cause with prime acces you get alot more than just the frame and weapons. like 3-5k platinum. buying regal aya and getting the bundles get you some endo. the platinum from the prime acces is almost enought to buy every prime that will be in the entire event. DE is basicly just trying to shoot us in the wallet.

Regal aya and aya are different and you will not be able to get regal aya just by paying the game

Regal Aya price can be converted to have the same price as the prime access packs
plat can be obtained via trading. regal aya can only be obtained by spending money, and so can accessories.
if platinum was used, all F2Ps can obtain prime accessories and something originally meant to be exclusive for prime vault / access buyers is now available for free to everyone else.
its not just a method of gaining money for DE IF you wanna obtain optional cosmetics, but its also a way of protecting former vault / access buyers.

Yes. Only relics seems to be able to purchase from the aya. For stuff like armor sets and Distilling Extractor Prime need a premium currency called regal aya which needs to be purchased using real money.

Lol. You make it sound like nobody is buying new plat, Prime Access and/or other packs with plat in them and DE isn't making money on plat. Spoiler: They are and they do.
Kinda, the point is that there's already a huge amount of plat in the player's wallets, most of the vets are hoarding +10k unused plat. However most of the people aren't vets and newbies are probably buying plat whenever they get a discount.
I think Reaper has done a good point from the perspective of DE, if they can simply create a new premium currency and get away with it, with more benefits, they'll do it.

Veterans also buy Prime Access etc. (there’s plat in those packs if you didn’t know). And not everyone that has played for years are rich. I have, and I’m definitely not.

So the point is that the “new premium currency” is an unnecessary, anti Tenno and ridiculous move no matter how you look at it. Unless money is the only thing you care about. But DE isn’t supposed to be EA, so it’s hopefully not.
EDIT: Also, I didn’t say that this person/RUclipsr MEANT that they didn’t make “plenty” of money on plat already. I just said they made it SOUND like it. My point is that there’s not really any excuse for the new currency and especially not as to how it’s structured as a whole.
