I just did this last Sunday on my new Forester Wilderness. The mount they sell at the dealerships is kinda flimsy, but it has a couple of options for mounting, including the screws shown in this video. I used the flat tip screws with the included rubber sleeves. They require you to drill small pilot holes, then holes the size of the rubber sleeves. The nut is mounted at the back of the sleeve, and the further you screw in, the sides of the sleeve expand out like a wall anchor. Very secure fit.
@@dang-h7682 Yep, I'm going from FL to MN, and now need a front plate. I'm so scared I'll mess it up to screw it in myself! I have to take it in for it's first oil change before I move - so I'll see how much they will charge me to do it at the same time. You pay $30+K for a new car - I couldn't believe there's no front bracket in place already!! Just the way it is!
I've seen some real butcher jobs on all subaru models....Thankfully Pa doesn't require the front mount plate. I don't know why Subaru puts two other holes in the front fascia of the crosstrek so I bought two painted plugs to plug those ugly holes as well...
@@alexpmo My dealer is a good hour from my current home (in FL). I've had my last car (Pontiac Vibe) for 16yr, and wanted to get a new Subaru before I moved to MN (leaving the end of July). I discovered MN requires front and back plates. I was shocked I didn't have a bracket in the front!!! I have to take my car in for it's first oil change before I leave - so I will see how much they'd charge to put the bracket on at the same time. I saw the price of the brackets on there website, but hope they don't charge too much to put one on. Sort of aggravating to be honest, but it's not the end of the world in the big picture of life. I'm just nervous to do it myself and mess it up. 🙄 Thanks for sharing the video!! 👍
Dealer should never screw into the gawd damn paint. Leave it up to the buyer to decide this. Every new car I have to find one in transit and demand no front plate.

If I'm buying a new car the dealer is doing this. No way a customer should have to do this.
You might want to reconsider ???
You can ask them to. But you seriously can’t grab a screwdriver? 😂
Not every state requires front license plates. If you buy from one that doesn’t and move to one that does it will be your responsibility

Would you be able to do a video comapring interior sizes between models? Crosstrek to Forester, Forester to Outback and ect.
Thank you Alex... made this an easy task
My car never came with this bracket. Is this recommended?
Is there a certain tag bracket I should buy? Or where I should buy it?
I bought the relocation kit for my 23 special edition crosstrek
I’m not drilling anything into my brand new Subaru. I’ll use the tow hook to mount a license plate bracket.
Thanks Alex

Personally i would like an option if customers want dealerships to do it for them or not cuz tbh i don’t want holes on my bumper
That's the way we do it. We don't put holes in the bumper unless someone needs the front plate or just wants the front vanity plate.

Do you have a part # so I can order one?
Just look on your dealers website and enter your car info. It will tell you which part is compatible with what car.
You didn’t show anything lol
I know!!! I was waiting to see someone actually do it!! 🤣
Do Subaru's come with rainbow 🌈 sticker
Yes they do, It's required by Subaru law.
No help. My Legacy has no dimples.
