Thanks for putting this up. 30 years ago I was a cyclist. This was a most inspiring video I watched in the day.
This has the most poetic descent EVER shown on film! Motorcycles are wonderful devices, automobiles are crafty ones, yet nothing compares to a person controlling the descent on a bicycle!
Did you like it?
Al right, agreed. Still, given I still don't dare go that fast in dry weather, it was terribly beautiful to watch. Thanks for dropping by!
My goodness! They were pushing such massive gears on those climbs!!
Love the documentary with the descent down the mountain.... Fuente....RIP
This was the golden age of cycling when steel frames ruled and the sole of the bike was all campagnolo, we have gone to the dark side
i feel yeah!
SO the dark side.................................. And today's youth have NO idea of just how dark.......... Plastic and Shitmano.
SO the Dark Side these days...........................
Apart from the fact that everyone was doping all the time...
Funny that you mention as 1973 was the first year Shimano started sponsoring European riders (notably Freddy Maertens and part of the Flandria team). I had an early 600 groupset and it was definitively very good...I'd say in line with the Campagnolo of the same year but less fragile and smoother in movements.
This so reminds me of F1 of the same period...awesome documentary!
Yea, something quite raw, down to earth and manly about that era
Great documentary. Seeing this on Brit TV at the beginning of 1977 I was inspired to take up 'proper' road racing after messing around in a few time trials. It's safe to say the ambition wasn't realised at anywhere close to the levels on display here, but TGSOE was still a real inspiration.
Nevermind just noticed this was a part 05 haha. I was linked so I didn't realize. Thanks for the upload!
The downhill looks more "suicidal" than "sentimental" as the title says! LOL Great vid.
5:50-7:55 beautiful
De muito bom gosto!
Such a beautiful upload. Is the full documentary on RUclips? It really does encapsulate the beauty of cycling, the unique, inimitable beauty of the Giro. Cheers.
great singing
I'm proud to be a belgian!
The wonderful days of road cycling before the arrival of the Dura Ace gruppo.
Wonderful spectacle !
Golden age of teal heroes
2020
Lmao the pre-Lance era, when pros had ride up steep climbs at 50 rpm
Real Men !!
Jesus - horrible weather, no helmet, questionable brakes and skinny-as-hell tyres - it’s mad!
Joachim Macdonald questionable breaks. The campagnolo súper récord breaks.Clement critérium tyres. Not bad, trust me
Rütiguer I’m sure the tyres are great, but like - it doesn’t matter how good your tyres are, if their 20 mil and it’s pissing it down, that’s gonna be sketchy!
Does anyone know the song playing during the descent? I have tried to find it for a while ! thx
just shazamed it: It's Lucio Battisti "Umanamente Uomo: Il Sogno"
@@robertuskoppies444 Yeah!!! Well done sir! Thanks!
little advertising on the jerseys
3:05 you wont see a rider kicking his forks to adjust the spacing nowadays.
this statement stands diaz
Please! Stretching the forks!
Battisti:)
