@@Rubelessin California you’re only allowed to have 10 round magazines. Plus he said it himself. He ducked behind cover and checked his firearm and only had two rounds left. He said he wished he another magazine on him at that time. Did you watch the video?

@@Rubelessit’s California. They have a magazine restriction of ten round maximum. If you try to order a firearm online, you cannot buy one with more than a ten round capacity magazine if you live in CA. Doesn’t matter that you can buy the same firearm in NV, AZ and other states with standard capacity magazines (most micro and sub compact firearms have 10-15 round magazine capacity). That’s why commenters are saying CA and their magazine capacity restriction could have resulted in him being at a big disadvantage against the criminals.

@HWG-wm8ld robbers get to pick when and where. So that's ridiculous to believe you'll be prepared at all moments and at all times. You would be most likely be doing normal regular things like listening to music. Some people look at their phones etc. It's really hard to say.
Also when there's adrenaline you don't even account for. It would be difficult to line up the slight picture if someone is 3 to 5 feet from you blasting away. You think you would stay calm for that second or 2 to line up the sights on a moving target?
Adrenaline would also make it difficult to reload your hand gun of your hands are shaking.
It's not the same as on a flat range in a well lit area while calm. It's difficult as is with a handgun. Not sure about you but, to even get sub MOA with a handgun takes alot of practice. Some people may get a decent groupings but, now add moving targets and adrenaline. Your hands would be shaking. That small change would throw your shots off.
I dry fire at home and even slight change in how I pull the trigger would throw the shot way off. Trigger control at least for me is something I need to work since I can't get consistent shots off. Thinking in a self defense scenario, no one what's a bullet to hit an innocent person.

I loved Vince's comment about people saying "getting robbed is like hitting the lotto". To people that genuinely believe that, I say the lottery is a choice. You choose to gamble your money for the chance to win more. Existing in the world and not having a choice whether you are a victim or not is very different than making a conscious choice. The dad didn't have a choice in this case on being a victim of a criminal or not. His choice was made for him in that regard and he chose not to act like what the criminals thought he was.
We know patterns and trends of how criminals target victims but we don't know why in the moment a criminal chooses a victim and the victim doesn't know that. All the victim can do is be prepared. Vince gets that and everything he has said is spot on. Bravo to him and all the best to him and his family!
