Next time you do Her hair... take the section that you are going to straighten, and lightly mist it with a spray bottle with water in it and use argon oil and put it on that section then spray with heat protectant. Her hair will shine and the steam will make the hair softer.
I deep conditioned with various mask but only once a week. I just change the hair mask every week, like a coconut hair mask one week, then a argan oil one next week. Sometimes I make my own with avocado, honey, and egg. I trimmed my hair but only 2 times a yr. I also drank hair vitamin pills. I don't wash my hair everyday but only once a wk, unless something gross gets on it. I use sulfate and silicon free shampoo and conditioner that has jamaican black castor oil on it from shea moisture. I use to have very short hair, like boyshort hair almost 8 urs ago and it was dyed. Now all that hair is gone and has grown that long.

I don't mean to be negative in any kind of way and it did come out absolutely beautiful but my advice is don't let her straighten it often 😭 my sister straightened mine for first time when I was young, and because everyone complimented it it made me feel prettier (untrue I look the same straight or curly) but I continued to straighten it EVERYDAY because I hated being deiffernt from everyone else anyways the point I was trying to make is even once in a while causes so much damage your actually changing the bonds in your hair cuticle altering the your natural curl pattern

You should have had a air conditioner of a fan on low so that her hair wouldn't frizz up hair that has never been flatironed herds this because even if the air is t humid it can still get moisture from the air and from the sweat on the scalp
Clearly you don’t know how to handle curly hair because the ends of you hair are the oldest and weakest so going from the bottom means you have to go over the ends repeatedly braking them off and she was also holding the comb backwards when she was doing the chase method

you should start at the roots first, if you detangle the hair prior to straightening then there wouldn't be tangles at the end.
