- I show how to clean a Dyson vacuum blockage. This is a Dyson 65 animal.
Unplug your Dyson, and check the ends of the hoses. I show how to disconnect the hose and tube below the ball. I show how to take apart the brush bar to remove any obstructions.

I was really about to give up on my vacuum after if hadn’t worked for months. A dirty carpet floor with 3 toddlers + a broken vacuum never equals anything good. By chance I decided to look on RUclips for one last glimmer of hope. This video helped me even though we had a different brand Dyson!

So far so good with this vacuum. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
For the second time in the years since I bought a refab Dyson Ball Total Clean, this video has given me exactly the guidance I needed. Removing the hose from the body was precisely what I needed to do to access this clog, which is a step some other videos stopped short of.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had just done what I thought was a thorough cleaning of my Dyson and a few weeks later it stopped working. Main motor wouldn’t work, but bar would spin. I had a clog in that tube that goes around the back of the ball - didn’t even know it was there until you pointed it out. Super grateful - thanks!!

Kudos to dyson for designing the best vacuum on the planet, and thank you for the video. I thought mine was on the way out and sure enough it was even easier than your video. The dyson multifloor doesn't even have a set screw it just slides out. Love it!
Just restored vacuum to the upper portion of the Dyson today. Also, just followed the rest of the steps to clean out the bottom portion, which probably will make the bottom suction work that much better too. Thanks for making a succinct video about how to do this. As reading a manual is needlessly wordy, and mind-numbingly boring. Reading a manual is also more time consuming, and a succinct video like this makes the difference between something getting done, and not getting done, in a world where we're all pressed for time. Thanks. Also thanks to Dyson for making a vacuum that is so easy to disassemble and clean.

This was a big help, found the clog in my daughter's vacuum. It took 10 minutes to fix, the hard part was getting the nickel out that was wedged in the tube. She's happy, thanks.

I do clean it regularly and the filters, but it couldn't handle the amount of hair i was picking up. I have a newer model, but this video was helpful on troublshooting where the blockage was located. Turns out I had vacuumed up a plastic ziptie China puts on all their packaging and it caused blockage. I had to try 3x to unclog it. It was plugged from the brush all the way to the connecter to the hose that runs underneath the ball area. I used a sink drain snake to push it all the way through. Boy that was frustrating, but I now consider it my accomplishment of the day to have it working again!

Unbelievable, Thank You!!!! Although it was rotating, the brush mode just wasn't picking up. So I followed the steps, put it back together and it now works like New! Perhaps taking it apart and putting it together again aligned something that was out of align. Doesn't matter.......it works!

Thank you sooooo much! I don't know if you know this, but the "text-less" instruction book shows you how to take the power head OFF, but does not show you how to put it back on. I've been without a vac for about 3 months and using my back-up Kirby which really needed to be serviced (and then stopped working). I was using my Dyson cordless to try to pick up all the animal fur two cats (one a super-shedder) and a Springer Spaniel during fall shedding season, can lay down. I was down to one more try before I took it in to a professional. Thanks. This video saved me a lot of $

Thank You so much for this video. Literally just got through getting a blockage out of the long hose once I was able to detach it from the machine. I was so sick that I was going to have to get this repaired or trash it, when my daughter suggested RUclips. I have this exact vacuum and as soon as I came across how to remove the long hard plastic hose, I proceeded to put water down the hose and it was not coming through to the end. Then I knew the blockage was in this hose and no where else. Got a long rod stuck it down the tube and pushed and out popped the spray cap to a bottle and vacuum was a good as new. Thank You so much for the detailed explanation and various places to look for blockage.....

Thanks so much. I was convinced I couldn't remove the tube from my Dyson. (my old model had more obvious connections) The tab on mine was silver (slightly different model) tiny little cap wedged in the tube, and I was able to pop it out with the handle of a wooden spoon.
