Amazing rendering skills❤
All that amazing work, but you missed the shadow of the actual person who is walking ;)
What the hell is BCE,you nut?
Most people hate on ubisoft, because a lot of their games are sometimes very close to an exellent game, but they ruin it with the story writing.
If our surroundings looked like this I'm sure less of us would be on the phone. Lol
I dreamed of this way of recreatinng history when I was a kid and now it's a reality.
Me too, I always tried to imagine that life and now I got it!
This is a fantasy, notice in the history books the life expectancy of ordinary citizens.
Greetings fellow romántic.
@@MarISh572and you too ...
I lived this reality as a kid because I was playing in genuine Greek and Roman ruins (in real life in the 1980s).
Mad respect to the guy who went back and recorded this. Good look.

@@xrayban2 🙄Do you realize this is a video game? It doesn't have (or need) to be anything other than what it is. A game.
And yet you're on your phone
No shit
You mean like phone cells in the game? Yes, because the Inventer of the ancient greek phone, Alexandros Grammozis Bellis, was born just in 368 bc ...
Man, talk about the good life. Chilling in sandals and togas, beautiful art and architecture, urban but still earthy, balmy Mediterranean weather, soaking up the sun, taking a dip now and then, good Greek food, some wine and lute music *sigh*
Invaded by the despotic Persians and barbarian northerners every now and then. Diseases and slavery for a large section. Even most free men were largely hand to mouth peasants
It was a great civilisation that produced some immortal titans but you can't ignore the slavery and constant warfare. It was hard, unless you were born into wealth.

I would need my sunblock.
Classic recreations like this featuring togas everywhere always make me wonder what people actually wore during the cold months.
Words cannot describe how incredible this is.. as if you traveled in time.. the CGI is so advanced, it's practically reality!!
It's a game called "assassin's creed odyssey" set in Greece, there are other games like this set in different countries,my 3 favourites are this one, assassin's creed origins (set in ancient Egypt) and assassin's creed Valhalla (set in viking times)

Honestly, the Discovery Mode is an overlooked gem in the Assassin’s Creed games. It is the best way to wind down or relax, while getting lots of historical facts.
This is brilliant. Not only are NPC's juat casualling, but you got the workers and praisers and performers on point too. Absolutely magnificent. I feel as if I have a real idea of how things used to be. Thanks a lot.

First thing I notice is how quiet it is and the absence of cars. Not sure if we can build a city like that again, but it's definitely worth a try.
There eas a Twilight Zone episode where a criminal was transported from 1860; to 1960. It was the noise that drove him crazy But today 1960 would seem quiet.

Watching AC Odyssey videos just takes me back to 3 years ago when I played that game. The map, the scenery, the soundtrack, man.... Time flies, I'm glad for this upload, makes me appreciate dem good ol' times.
Haha you make me feel old when 3 years ago was the good old days!
This inspired me to be Greek all day today!!!
Today I am going to order Gyros on door dash. 🇬🇷
I walked around modern Athens, visiting the Acropolis and the Agora. I often wondered how the ancient Greeks lived.
Damn, what I would give to go back in time and experience what Life was like in these ancient civilizations, including Athens, Egypt, Indus Valley, Mesopotamia, Maya, Aztec, Olmec, Inca, etc.
The World History is always a fascinating topic.
Have an exit plan for when someone decides you'll do as a slave or sacrifice. Wasn't all sunshine and ice cream in those days.
I saw an archaeology doc on Ancient Rome and Greece recently, and the archaeologists hollered at some of the games out now and how well-informed their digital reconstructions of ancient cities were. I’m not sure if this was one of the games they mentioned (not a gamer so pretty ignorant on this topic), but it seems really well done!
I recall they made a big effort, though I wonder how they kept those temple pools so clean.
My ancient neighbor ❤ love you from Iran.
Absolutely beautiful! Better than watching a Hollywood movie.
Thanks to the cameraman that went back in time to record all of this footage
You are welcome. I hope to do better at Caesar's assassination.

Refreshing to see people on the street who aren't staring down at their phones.
Or at your soll? ... Ect

"No scrolling while horse riding!"
Can you imagine what the world would be like if we still build our cities as beautiful as this?
Love it. The fact that life has become so hard that we now watch a simulation of Ancient Greece to relax shows how bad things are getting.
“Life has become so hard”
Life has never been safer or easier though.

I certainly appreciate ALL of your recreations, especially that of Greece.
My favorite time is the Roman Empire, have you made any of those?
Checking your videos I didn't see many.
If you did one at the Coliseum and recreated fights, or any of the days at the Forum or even when they had victorious marching armies after a war would be phenomenal.

No grafiti, no trash, no leafblowers, no cars, no airplanes, no hip hop, …just the sound of birds, nature and human conversation ❤
i bet there were kids somewhere banging drums. probably lots more music going on
@@citoyenjoseph… But it wasn’t amplified. Especially love the “no hip hop” part. 2500 years later and we’re the savages.
@@JeddieT wasn't amplified? They had an amphitheater. Ever hear of that? They understood the concept of amplification and used it.
It must have been a beautiful place back then but there definitely was ancient graffiti, trash, and lots of animal waste in the streets.
@@citoyenjoseph …This is true, but I think you’re missing the point. In those days (like today) you went to the amphitheater specifically to hear music, see plays, etc. because they _wanted_ to. The OP’s point is there was no loud, unwanted, and unavoidable amplified noise - like hip hop - blasting in your face as you walk down the street.
Who cares if your intent is to seek out amplified music in a specific place like an amphitheater or concert hall. Today, like it or not, people overtly intrude on others in public spaces with their annoying and amplified noise (sorry, I mean hip hop).
I love exploring AC Odyssey in discovery mode and first person view because you can really see all the minute details in things such as the friezes on temple walls, stitching in grain sacks and even the fur on wolves without fear of your life!
Amazing Odyssey is an amazing game and Greece is so beautiful
THE VERY BEST I HAVE EVER SEE ON RUclips!
Big thank you and congratulation to the Crative Team! The perfect “walking tour” back through so many centuries back. Never the past has been so near to the present! So many scenes, landscapes, where even slums look attractive. So many various, archetypical Greek characters in their everyday roles. (What is lacking here though, there are old people, who are not too “pretty sight” for such a spectacle.) The combination of visuals and soundbites is PERFECT. We are almost constantly accompanied with squawking of an eagle, the impersonation of Zeus. I don’t know to which extent this Creation was based on true blueprints and archeologically based reconstructions, but In my humble opinion this Walking Tour deserves a considerable grant from Greek Ministry of Culture. I know that I have been there=here, and I will watch it many, many times, also with my friends. BIG thank you again for such feast for mind and senses.
Imagine people 1000 years from now looking at what our society looked like. Full of power lines, McDonald’s, gas stations
… and cars cars cars.
Fortunately not everyone living in US
And the computer you use to write non-sense?
It's such a beautiful thing that you keep doing these videos!
It is breathtaking how classic architecture gives a feeling of magnificence while still making the human feel relevant and the center of it. Something that you cannot experience in modern cities like Miami, which weatherwise should be the closest thing to a golden-age Athens.

The Athenians wore purple himatias, multicolored
tunics, wore high hairstyles, fastened them with gold hairpins and
hung with gold jewelry." It is difficult to imagine that this description
refers to men's clothing, but nevertheless it is true. The free Greeks
treated the decoration of their hairstyles with great care, since they most often
went bareheaded. Hair loss or even shortening
has long been considered a disgrace. Men's long hair was curled and arranged
on their heads with no less ingenuity than women, and even dyed'
In general, the Athenian dandies had a rich imagination. It was possible to
meet women who wore sandals decorated with gold and
silver. But a truly treasure trove of taste and imagination was hidden by a woman's antique costume. And although women's clothing, as well as men's, consisted of
a chiton and a himatium, the variety of their forms leaves far behind all
the finds of men's costume.
The female Doric chiton is no longer just a shirt, but a shirt with a lapel.
And it is thanks to this seemingly insignificant detail that women
's clothing has received such a wealth of forms. The chiton with the lapel was
a rectangular piece of fabric longer than a man's height by 60-70
centimeters, sewn in a shared direction. Its upper edge was bent by
50-60 centimeters. The lapel was named "diplodium". The upper edge
of the chiton was fastened with buckles on the shoulders, slightly draping the front part,
the clothes were girded with a belt, distributing its entire width in smooth
soft folds around the figure or only in the center of the front and back,
the rest of the chiton was pulled up from behind the belt so that the
foot was opened, and then lowered, forming a draped overlay around the waist,
which was called "kolpos". When going outside, an Athenian resident sometimes, instead of her usual
outerwear, himatia, put on a cape of various types and sizes,
which was very similar to a shawl. The Greek women always took
an umbrella or a fan with them. They sought to preserve the light skin color, which was especially revered in Greece, and therefore they carefully
protected their face from the sun's rays.
Sometimes Greek women replaced the himatium with a khlena - a richly draped cloak.
The khlen cloak is smaller in size than the himatiy, bent by one third,
fastened on one shoulder, passing under the left arm. In such raincoats
The bark of the Parthenon is draped. "The collection of these statues in the museum on
The acropolis," writes French critic Andre Bonnard, "looks like a group
of mannequins prepared for a show with a free and free choice
of dresses designed for this show. But it was not chance that chose them, but
the artist. In the type of bark, the main thing for him is not the study of anatomy, but
of complex drapery. The folds of clothing are infinitely diverse
depending on the fabric, the style of the toilet, the part of the body that these clothes
cover. Its purpose is to guess the shape of the body and
at the same time cover it. Hairstyle and jewelry, which formed a single whole with clothes, complemented
the appearance of Greek women. Abundant, lush long hair,
mostly red, was one of the first signs of female
beauty. The hairstyles of women are extremely diverse and have had many
names. A characteristic feature inherent in all of them was to
cover their foreheads as much as possible. A large forehead was not considered a sign
of beauty by the ancient Greeks. Therefore, many women, whom nature had not
endowed with rich locks of hair, wore headbands covering their foreheads for
to make it seem smaller. The simplest hairstyle: the hair was parted
in the middle, combed from the sides with wavy strands back and at
the nape or on top of the head, so that the neck was open, tied in a bun.
That hairstyle was called "little torch". Dyed in a light
reddish tone, the hair only enhanced the impression of a torch. The shape and
line of the dress tried to create the impression of a longer and therefore
more flexible neck, which made the Greek women seem especially graceful and

Thank you, very nice. One note, or question, on historical accuracy. On the Acropolis here, two giant statues of Athena are shown. 2:20:50 one outside and made of metal, 2:28:30 one inside the Parthenon and made of ivory and gold (chryselephantine). The second one is the Athena Parthenos, and it existed for real. The first one, though, is fictional. Just to get the record straight. Thanks for any corrections.
