It’s a very lively car to drive and it’s quite tricky to control on the limit. If you over drive the car it will understeer on corner entry and oversteer on corner exit if you push to hard. Try taking a step back and seeing if braking a meter it two early and use a fraction less throttle on corner exit and see how you get on mate.
@@SimRacingJason Thanks I did learn I have to be very patient with the bmw, its just totally different to what i'm used to in something like ACC but i did really like the Radical car, that is fun.
What I like the most about rFactor 2 is that you can feel the differences from car to car in a convincing way. The level of detail in the driving lets you feel the intricacies of each car. You can tell what's going on between the steering wheel and the asphalt because you're feeling it. No touring cars which drive almost like F1 cars except for the power and grip, there are many other important details that make the experience different and engaging. It also means that you won't like every car and some will be harder to drive than others until you get used to but that's part of the fun.
There's been well over 100 drivers in the Rookies races. Hope to see you online👍 Been racing the M2 at Limerock, watch out for the uphill crest, it's a killer.
And that’s on a week day let’s see what the weekend brings number wise, it could get busy out on track. I did some practice laps at Lime Rock and found that crest and what it can do if you get it wrong on many of those laps.
All the online race videos i watch i never feel i could compete with anyone, so i always shy away from it. I know i would love it but just a big scaredee cat...hahaha! But that BMW looks and sounds lovely. Cheers ;)
Mate the only way to get over that fear is to jump in and race, we have all been there and we have all made mistakes but as long as you learn and use that to improve we can all benefit from more sim races on the grid.
Thanks for the video, online has been a blast this evening, been racing the baby beemer and the Radical, full grids, clean racing on the whole, hopefully it will last.
Hi Jason, great video. Can you post your RF2 AI settings or possibly do a video about them? I have recently gotten back into sim racing and RF2 and while racing offline to get back into the swing of things I find the AI pretty kamikaze. Your race seemed like the AI were reasonable between defending and similarly not looking to damage their own vehicles. I'll be checking your channel for other useful content.
Thanks mate and i tend to find that first party tracks such as those by Studio 397 give the best results when racing the AI, but this is not always the case as other will testify but that's just been my experience. As for settings i run the difficulty between 85% and 95% depending on track with the aggression from 25% upto 35%, I then set the limiter to around 5% and that seems to give the best range of AI that i can enjoy a good battle or two . Mate feel free to browse about my other videos but finding something useful might take a while !!!
@@ducat7493 Good point mate as Studio 397 did do a lot of work on the AI in one of the bigger builds during 2023 which has helped a lot, especially with the tin top content.
Thanks Jason for this fine example of racing in RF2 agains bots at Sebring. Some time ago I drove different cars against bots but they always had great difficulties to held their cars on track at Sebring. I was quite impressed of their racing lines in this race. Please share the settings you used in game for the bots. I want to recreate it on my PC.
I have always found the AI to be pretty good on first party tracks by Studio 397 and for this race I had the AI difficulty set at 95% aggression was at 35% with the variation limit set at 5%.
I really really hope this takes off mate and you will enjoy this car in the rookie series as we make our way to the BTCC cars a little further up the ladder.
Had a go at the online stuff last night and it was a blast. The Tatuus and Radical were excellent but the M2 just felt like driving on ice. I can't understand why it seems different to all the other cars including GT cars and yet everyone else seems to love it?
It’s not blessed with a lot of downforce and it runs a basic TC so it’s can be very lively if you are over enthusiastic with the throttle and that’s why I love pushing things to see how much I can get away with.
Tried getting online but put in wrong email account at first…and in true rf2 style when I now edit it on my profile to verify account it doesn’t save…no online for me then🤷♂️…I know it’s beta but as usual rf2 is driving me mad😂
@@Sweatydave1 yes I'm fairly new to rfactor2 and it can be frustrating at times. I wonder whether the official rfactor2 discord could help you? Seems active and helpful.
I've just been racing with this for the first time and I thought it was like driving on ice🥶

Mate I could not of summed up just how good RF2 is better than that, thanks for taking the time to put together such a great comment.

My pleasure and please let me know what did you think of the Radical, not connected with the iRacing version.

Great! No idea about this option, thanks for share!
My pleasure mate and I think it’s going to be very interesting to see how this all takes off.

Great video Jason 👍🏼
Thanks mate much appreciated.
Great video mate, these cars are great fun to drive, gonna get signed up this weekend....bring on some BTCC ranked racing👍👍
Thanks mate and glad you will be signing up and let’s hope we can make it through to the BTCC content as that’s what I am really excited about.
So they fixed it? I had massive vibrations while braking.
It’s been completely reworked mate and I didn’t have any issues with big vibrations under braking.
@@SimRacingJason That’s good to hear. Maybe I should install it again.
It did here and only with this car. These are fun to race.
Well if you sign up for the online service you can try it for free so there’s nothing to lose mate.
Think those vibrations were to do with TC…but RF2 is brutal if you flat spot a tyre so that could be an issue.
@Sweatydave1 oh you didn’t want a flat spot in RF2 as it’s really gives your FFB a real test.

Time to reinstall mate as I think this new ranked server racing could give you something to get stuck into.
@@SimRacingJason Maybe. I always found the dlc to be a rip-off though.
@meecob the good thing about this BMW is it’s free when you join the new online servers which is about as good as it gets.
