Yeah for a film I can see that. In Tangled tv series it was before Rapz & Eugene actually got married which they took them 3 years. The show is underrated & it shows them as a healthy couple
Maybe it felt even longer to the m since they were frogs and frogs only have a 10 year life span🤷🏽♀️
I think this is mostly due to the time period this movie is set to be in, 100 years ago people would get married really really fast.
I remember my grandma told me she married my grandpa after just 4 days of meeting each other, that happened "just" over 40 years ago and she said it took her sisters and brothers even less time after meeting their partners to get married! So just imagine how it was even before that.

Random history fact. The Wilson elected headline in the newspaper is about the American president Woodrow Wilson who was elected in 1913-1921. I think it was just added in to state when the movie is set.

Wilson was also the President that led America and its allies to victory in WWI and was the creator of the League of Nations (which was basically the beta version of the UN). He was one of four US presidents that won a Nobel Prize, his was for peace after creating the League of Nations 💛
Yeah! I figured since a lot of the fashion shown with the females at Tiana's restaurant were in flapper dresses which gave me the idea that this must've been around the Roaring 20s

Personally, the article seems to pin Germany’s downfall on America. Wilson was AGAINST the German Guilt Clause because he favored his own plan. The German Guilt Clause is what inevitably caused WWII, but pushing Germany into so much economic turmoil that they turned to Hitler for a better chance at living.
The German Guilt Clause was brought forward by France and England, they are to blame for Germany’s economic collapse that would lead to the deadliest war in modern history.
Wilson was also dealing with a spiteful House and Senate, who were petty and didn’t agree to join the League of Nations. Without America in the League, the power that came with America was lost. This is why the League of Nations failed, not because of Wilson, but because of the House and Senate.
I feel like Hoover, Jackson, and Eisenhower were worse. Hoover couldn’t fix the damaged economy of the depression, Jackson basically supported a mass genocide of Native Americans, and Eisenhower got involved in Vietnam (a war that was unnecessary).
It’s up to personal opinion of what makes a president “bad”, some people think Obama was the worst simply because he legalized gay marriage nationally. But, to me, Wilson was not the worst America ever had 💛
Honestly, Princess and the Frog is such an underrated movie. It was Disney's final 2D animation movie. I wish they didn't stopped...

She was talking about romance. She said "I've waited this long", which means she'll be waiting longer but she's fine with it because she's already been waiting.

i just realized that i can only think of three disney princesses that have both parents: Rapunzel from tangled and Merida from brave and Moana from well Moana
A theory about that is because Walt Disney bought his parents a house when he became rich. He didn’t know but the house had a gas leak and it killed his mom. His dad died later. That’s why usually the only living parent is the dad. (The little mermaid, Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine etc.)

The princess in *Brave* still has both her parents as well as no love interest, which really breaks the mould on several levels.
Another, while not a literal princess is Moana, still has both her parents and the main guy in it is more of a friend and mentor rather than a love interest.

Ray's death had me bawling, from him dying to his funeral. Then when it was revealed that we was finally with Evangeline I cried harder, especially since the two wishing stars that is iconic with Disney is now canonically Ray and Evangeline.

I prefer Tangled but I lovee this movie too !
Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997). The prince and Cinderella meet and hit it off before the ball, at the ball they don't just dance but actually have multiple conversations between dances, he doesn't need the shoe to recognize her in the end, and she doesn't wait around for a prince after the ball but makes plans to leave and start a new life on her own. It also has a TREMENDOUS cast of fabulous actors and singers (including Whitney Houston, Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Bernadette Peters, and Brandy). But I will concede the Princess and the Frog as the best animated Disney princess movie.

Tiana is a wonderful person and to me the most relatable Princess since Alice and Kida. The green dress is beautiful and the animation is stellar not to mention the songs, thanks to Randy Newman especially The Shadow Man is so suave and cool with the voice of Goliath from Gargoyles!

@@martinmccarthy2822 Rapunzel's parents are not dead, but the reason why I personally don't count her as having both parents is because she didn't actually have them growing up. She was separated from them and didn't even know about them, so in her formative years, she did not have both parents. Or really, either parent. A kid whose parent is alive, but they weren't around (whether intentionally or not) gets the psychological effects of not having that parent.
Funny you mentioned Naveen looking like Peter Pan in the beginning, since Evangeline is the second star to the right once Ray joins her.
This movie is based on Leah chase. Leah chases grandchildren or family members go to my school in New Orleans. She was a cook and had her own restaurant in New Orleans.

This is probably the most underrated Disney princess movie
Randy Newman is the songwriter for PatF. He also did the songs for the Toy Story movies, the Monsters Inc. movies, the Cars movies, a Bug's Life, and Cats Don't Dance. My personal favorite song of his is "I Think It's Going to Rain Today".
Since you watched The Little Mermaid, the songs in that one were written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, who also wrote the music for Little Shop of Horrors. Howard Ashman also wrote the songs for Beauty and the Beast but died of HIV/AIDS before the movie came out, the movie is dedicated to his memory. There is also a documentary about him called Howard that's on Disney+ for anyone who's interested.

Also, Ray is one of the most epic Disney heroes ever. He saves the protagonists in the swamp, fights and kills shadow demons, all for the love of a star whom he ends up with in the end. Even Hercules could only rise to be a god, much less an actual star.

I live near New Orleans and this is my ultimate comfort movie. It is incredibly accurate to our culture/accents/personalities and makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside

Charlotte did not get enough screen time. She is the best side human character. Even though she wanted to have a prince and that was her life long dream she gave It up for tiana. Also she only exclusively wears pink so she had that blue dress just for tiana. She was willing to make sacrifices to make her friend have her happily ever after. Also amazing video and we can all agree that dr.facilier’s hair was wonderful.

@@reginaharper3346 I hope not. I tried to watch it a couple of times after the retheme was announced, and I can't help but feel bitter every time I watch it. It's sad because I really used to love that movie, but what they're doing to Splash Mountain is just ruining it for me. I'm hoping that the retheme gets canceled so I can love the movie the way that I used to.

I remember seeing this film in theaters when I was 7 years old. I remember meeting Naveen and Tiana at Disney world when the movie came out. Now Naveen is a rare character. And Ray is played by Jim Cummings who is my favorite voice actor. I also love Keith David as Dr. Facilier. Wonderful voice actors. I don’t remember being sad by Ray’s death when the movie came out but my mom always said I did cry over it, but I can’t remember. I was super afraid of blood growing up so the friends on the other side scene scared me a lot at the time because of the blood. President Woodrow Wilson. The 28th president of the United States. Served from 1913-1921. (Means he won in 1912 and in 1916. Lost the nomination in 1920. Term limits weren’t introduced until after FDR died in his third term.)
