@@vaibhavyadav9912 no, you have moved file to another drive so once you are pretty sure it is fully copied to the new drive, you can delete it from the old drive. I THINK.

Honestly very helpful! had to manually delete the original files in the original drive before carrying out mklink, but think worked perfectly fine in my experience(moving video game "The finals" and "genshin impact")
It worked! followed the steps and it absolutely worked, just a little note, if you see tons of repeated "new files" and it's taking a long time don't worry its because there's a lot of files to transfer, as an example I moved Genshin impact (a game) from drive c to d, and it took me 14 mins bcs of the small files. don't forget to mklink too. Good luck and have patience. Edit: the process is 100% reversible
So you moved a game; did you ever receive a blue screen in the process or is the game still running normally? According to another commentor, he said he experienced "blue screens" and etc. Did you ever need to reinstall the game for any reason? I'm asking because I really don't wanna reinstall Battlefront 2 haha... Considering the game's pretty much dead because of Dice, I might just uninstall it anyways :/

I did tried this with a software just now. But it's showing in both the drives (C and E)... what to do ? Happened to me at first, but remembered that when I searched for command prompt I just left clicked on it twice for it to open, and so I deleted from the D the program I'm trying to move to it. Searched for the command prompt again, but this time right clicked on it and run it as administrator then try the commands again and it finally worked!

OKAY GUYS, LISTEN.. I FINALLY GOT IT. AFTER SO MANY HOURS... I'm no computer geek or whatever, so all that file and drive stuff is confusing... So herea what I did. 1. Made a desktop folder to copy all my genshin stuff in. 2. Double clicked the (C:) File 3. Opened Program Files --> Genshin Impact 4. Copied everything genshin related or what was in that folder. 5.) Threw it all into that desktop folder from earlier. 6.) Deleted everything genshin related from the (C:) drive 7.) After that, took the desktop folder and dragged it to the second drive that had 100% nothing in it... Idk if it even make sense, but I hope It helped even just a bit..!

This is absolutely brilliant! However, can someone help me understand how this works. I'm interested how these things work so I can understand in detail. Like I can see after you do the mklink the folder re-appears in the drive you moved it from but doesn't actually take the space it did originally. I'm assuming this is so the app still opens as it's still got it's original path. Just interested how it's in the original drive but not taking the space, I noticed the little arrow on it so I assume it's something to do with that. As far as I know robocopy cannot copy open files and also other limitaions, I use partition assistant ao mei to move this, it's nice.
