    • @ananastea
      @ananastea 5 лет назад +33

      Full Kanga I did that for 7 days! No looking at my photos too. What I thought was that I’d look at myself with new eyes and reevaluate. And I got tired of myself in a way so it was a break lol.
      It hasn’t changed much the way I perceive my appearance (maybe too little time to change it). But an unexpected thing was I got used to stopping myself to look at a mirror while passing by it. That’s something you do completely unconsciously, and I took complete control of it and it took a while for it to become automatic when the challenge was over. Like someone was about to slap me if I looked! I was catching myself at the very thought and said “no” before I turned to the mirror. It proved you can even control your gaze/what your eyes look at.
      Same with your mind and thought process, guess you can control that the same way. That was very interesting to experience, not just to read about, sorry for a long comment.

It's amazing that someone can find a way to get such a useful and practical set of instructions across to people who are at the end of their rope and feel unable to take on anything else. ali h Libby is great...however my main problem with it is that a lot of books (at least the ones I’m interested in) seem to have weeks to months worth of wait before you can check them out. I understand that it’s free but still kind of a bummer for a digital service. :/

    Matt, every since I discovered your channel which I believe was either earlier this year or end of last year, Ive learned a lot from your work. I want to thank you for doing what you do and for sharing your experiences with us. I find motivation and inspiration in your videos and thus far have felt like Ive taken my life into my own hands. I feel a lot more satisfied with myself and I understand things clearer than I ever did before. Whether it is a lesson to learn from or simply starting new habits I have always dreamt of doing but never quite got around to it. I am grateful, and in a way I look up to you as a mentor and I appreciate every bit of information I have learned from you.

    Also, REWARD is so important when building new habits. Of course, the habit itself is rewarding as it is good for you blah blah. But take this example: I restricted myself from watching too much series. Now I only watch one at a time and 4 episodes a week. BUT if I manage to constructively work on my thesis five days in a row, then I can watch one more. Treat yo'selves people! :)

I'm a cyclist. most days I don't feel like going out for a ride, but once I'm 20 to 30 minutes in and loosened up I feel great and then I stay out for a few hours and have a great ride. I need to find a way to trick myself into getting started. Once I'm in motion it's all good. But isn't that true with most everything? I guess the key is just never stop.
