Thank you for making this video. As the agenda attempts to write out our part in history, it is refreshing to be reminded of the credits our culture has contributed to society. Mr Lewis Latimer Innovatively improved the filament in the lightbulb So much so that it could actually be used With a longevity in Homes in those times. Thank you!
Wrong! He did not invent the Carbon filament let alone the Electric Lamp. What he did do, was patent: "new and useful Improvements in Incandescent Electric Lamps" and he filed patent to improvements in the Manufacture of those filaments.
do you think in those times they would need a black man just to draft patents clearly he was more useful to them than just a patent drafter. In those times this man had to be inventing some of these things for him ti be of use to them
Correct. Latimer's patents were for improvements to the manufacturing process of the filaments. His patents had no effect on the longevity of the light bulb or even the filaments. His idea was to encase the filaments in a protective envelope during the carbonization process to allow for less breakage during heating. I really hate that people think others need to be lied to in order to gain a sense of pride.
Lewis Howard Latimer , inventor of the electric light bulb filament!
Definitely one of "My Top Videos" !
Thank you so much for this.

Thank you!
Latimer's carbon filament lamp won't work as outlined in the patent. He literally had a non-working device patented.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!✊🏿👍🏿
