I've got a science experiment for you'ze guys. I've always liked the ironhead magneto sporty. And I like the dry clutch but it's a trick to keep it dry in an oil environment. What if you took an ironhead and made the tranny trap door oil tight and then run a dry clutch with a belt drive. If it's an XLH you could grind off the elec start mount on the primary and it would be a kicker.
Something creative could be done with the engine cases . . . you could grind away some of the engine cases that form the primary compartment so the primary drive was really hung out there. I heard somebody a long time ago sold a sealed trap door for just such experimentaion.
Well . . . you asked for an idea. It needs further development. I like your vids and things.

Or, on a more sane note. How about an exploration into the set up of a dry clutch on a 60's Sporty? Thanks guys.

Dude I love the bike and the flathead engine is cool. I’d like to know which engine in your opinion is the easiest to build and most reliable.

Not sure if 60 over is too much for a panhead piston. Double check the cylinders and see if they are too thin. If a more knowledgeable person told you that the pistons were to oversized, it's possible that the cylinder walls are to thin, and may have some hair line cracks in them.

Guys I didn't see a front motor mount spacer going in, need that spacer for a knuck or a flatty in a wishbone frame.

@@947w0rks If you don't use that spacer the motor mount will crack and then break off completely.
