yeah they can do that but nothing decent for the mpm line, as leader class figures they are great but for supposed “masterpiece” figures they leave much to be desired
They had to do it for Megatron, and I think they felt MP OP couldn't be simpler, in comparison. To be a MP, they probably felt he needed to feel substantial and similarly challenging. I don't agree with them, at all. The difficulty of MP-36's transformation is a necessary evil, but because it is evil, it should not be considered a standard by which any other Transformer need be measured. This level of panelly frustration ought to be avoided, whenever possible.

Dunno if this only true with the authentic and not the KO, but under the Autobot logo in truck mode, behind the panel there's a tiny square tab that clicks the panel flush with the cab. If you get it tabbed in the fuel tank will line up and stay tabbed in place as well. Also not as important, but for the panels on the outsides of the forearms; if you swing them out 180 degrees so the panel is resting against the hands, and then rotate the panel and the hand together, you won't encounter any resistance. The hinge can crack if you keep popping it into place.
Problem with that is the complete lack of paint throws off the already suspect tolerances. With my copy, the left hand side *refuses* to stay properly aligned.

Excellent video Ben but I have to be honest. I hate this mold official or otherwise. I believe in my own opinion mind you that MP-10 was a far better figure. And a better representation of Optimus Prime all around. Yes its Cartoon accurate but to me thats all it has going for it.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did. I'd love to see KuBianBao get off their asses and downsize this to Voyager size - a "MP44V", if you will - much like they did with MP10V.
Perhaps I missed it but what is the expected release date? As usual, the store online never have an accurate release date. I mean I know that the whole corona thing has messed with our concept of time but I'm pretty sure we are past June 2020.

Is this a production prototype? I noticed the matrix is missing paint and the eyes. You think when the release comes that it would have painted eyes and Matrix? For the damaged head tho. I prefer to unpainted eyes
I don't know about the matrix but I'm pretty sure that the eyes are going to be like that on every copy unless they do a reissue. Although it could be fixed with some paint or getting the toyhax labels for mp-44, which give you yellow or blue eyes

UPDATE 2020Oct23: Well...I finally got it on 10/13. Love this beefy McBeast so far!! Hate the axe, but it's way more versatile than the MP10 axe just because it can go on either side (while MP10 is limited to the right hand exclusively). Still don't think it looks good, though, because it doesn't. (Side Note: That PDF on TFW2005 by God Orion is a godsend!!) The shoulder panel and Autobot symbol...this still doesn't bother me in the sense that most of the MP10 KOs did the exact same thing. Should these folks have left it smooth & blank for a sticker? Absosmurfinlutely. Does it bother me? Not really. That said, I have no intention of puttin' it in. 44 can't rock that like 10 did. 44 can't even rock it like 22 or 31 (Ultra/Delta Magnus) did. The small end of the blast effect parts looks like it suffers for having to be the LED light switch, it looks a little lopsided. I'm pretty sure that's why it doesn't fit as well as it should. The problem with the vehicle mode (and the robot mode lower legs) seems to be that those already suspect tolerances are made even worse with the KO being unpainted. Oh, and I agree, this transformation is a nightmare. I've found it a lot worse than MP36. This is gonna be a thing where I'll have to pull up transformation videos in the future (since this didn't include instructions), as I don't plan on transforming it often...just like my IT01. 😒😒😒 And finally, I still hope a Voyager sized KO of this is made. You hear that, KuBianBao!? Get off your candy asses and make it happen already!! Simplify the transformation some if you must, but make it happen!! (Meanwhile, these folks need to get on the ball with a KO of MP49 Black Convoy already...)
I'm proper excited! Ordered and paid for mine more or less straight away hoping the risk would pay off. I even had TE01 on order at the same time, but can cancelled it, again taking a risk hoping this would be good. After seeing the nee pics, then the chinese reviews, and finally this, I'm very happy with my decision. I also think the insignia looks bad, and will buff the red plate so it sits flush, and add a sticker, since I have a few! I saw that someone on tf forum, that apparently ShowZ said they will ship in Aug Lets hope it arrives soon!
Great review Ben. I was, and kinda still, concerned about the plastic quality and potential stress marks. So am I remiss in understanding that MP-44 can NOT carry MP-10's trailer? I was planning on getting one of those for it and my TE-01...both of which I ordered through ShopZStore. I was going to ask about the abdomen compression..but with the shots I've seen, that white piece will just show...maybe a chomed pen to that spot specifically will help.. Bravo and Cheers
Not Ben but you are correct. MP-44 can not use MP-10's trailer. they have a different connector. I'm also looking for an MP-10 trailer for the TE-01. Good luck finding one for a decent price.
Yer correct on the trailer... however, Ben is suggesting here theyre going to have an adapter piece that will accomodate the MP10 trailer. How and why he came to this conclusion idk but its what he said.
Yeah can’t compress the abs any more , little bit too viable for my liking and as for the trailer , no it doesn’t fit but I’m hoping someone can 3D print a small adaptor to accommodate those who don’t have the 44 trailer
Takara's doing Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime as MP49, and that runs $250 (at least with Hobby Link Japan, anyway) before shipping. I find it insane that they think that the trailer and stuff is worth $200...
Head has no lights in it, nor the space. This was confirmed on the. The head also comes off using the sliding block, so no need to rip the head off its ball peg. Finally, the same issue is occurring in the back knee joint. Still can't wait for Showz to start shipping! Edit: Head apparently is stuck to the block unless you unscrew it, then you can shave two small pegs to get it to work properly. Also, looks like they sent their best here. Quality will vary. Be warned! Check this review: Wan Xiang MP-44 Convoy. Try to ignore the intro hahahaa, I'm still excited, but the reviewer got a shitty quality figure
@@etiennebeaudoin6892 painting the eyes was easy. You can sort out the block so you can slide the heads off too. Fxing the leg tab, ab crunch, and antenna also easy. Fixing the arm that fell off, was... easy too🤣🤣

Hello Ben, is that a production sample you are reviewing? I also agree with what you said, that this KO-44 is a great replacement for TE-01 which I still love, but wish had a little more articulation. IMO, that KO-44 looks great. Now I'm really tempted to get one.
Ive noticed a pattern with the new line of MPs where back kibble is present and seems to be the norm. Especially compared to older MPs. I get most figures wont be posed with their back forward but transforming them and seeing the back kibble is unpleasant 😳
The te optimus prime is the best feeling plastic of all the optimus primes. It’s also the best of all the primes too so... I felt the mp44 felt cheaper. So that’s a bonus.
Ben, tell me, if you can, do you think one could swap the knees out on the KO and put them in the official. I have MP44 and yea, I was one of the unlucky sods to get one with shit knees

It looks to be a pretty good KO. Glad people are liking it. But I think if I where to get the MP-44 I would just shell out the $400 rather then the $100 for this. In a way I feel like this is over priced for what it is ultimately but that's just me

The ab crunch on the official is activated slightly, that's why. 😂
12:52
- "Io sono Turbo Man!"
- You know, it's an international release. 😅
The Tab near the gas tank has the same problem with the official. It keeps popping off. I hope infinite transformations also do an improved copy just like the megatron.
Yep hoping for a copy from then my self
Is there any word if they are going to make the trailer? Maybe as a separate piece?
Great review, Ben. Thanks for making and posting it.
Cheers.
Wouldn't surprise me; all the MP10 KOs did exactly that.
Excellent video Ben but I have to be honest. I hate this mold official or otherwise. I believe in my own opinion mind you that MP-10 was a far better figure. And a better representation of Optimus Prime all around. Yes its Cartoon accurate but to me thats all it has going for it.
This and IT01 Megatron make the perfect duo
the ultimate KO duo
@@possiblyli5510 thats ok. KOs have their place.
@@Getloose360 for sure. most of my masterpiece collection are KOs. I simply can't afford the officials. Especially not mp36 or mp44. The new masterpiece prices are madness
Just bought this guy just to show Hasbro up!
God the transformation. Still, I really want this.
Definitely in for a KO, but I might wait a bit and see who else puts one out. Maybe not though since the trailer isn't too big a deal for me.
Maybe I missed it in the video. They improved on a lot but that waist hinge sticks out like a sore thumb.
Yeah if anything it sticks out even more on KO
Maybe you can pivot it up more to cover the hinge? As you may notice the hip joint is angled down on the KO, while it's angled up on the official.
Another nice review bro. I definitely like the paint job on the official better. Great seeing them side by side. On a side note, what in the haberdashery is going on in the front seat of roller? Carly and Spike are over there gettin busy live on camera. Good thing this aint a kid's channel. Tell them to get a room. Jeeeeez..
Can you review the Newage XM-1 Mista MPM styled DOTM Soundwave?
Yeah that arrived today
@@BensKOllectables Oh sweet! What a nice coincidence.
Great review, but come back to me when some KO company removes the hunchback!
Lol I’m sure it’s on a companies to do list .. my bets are on infinite transformation
I think you’re right there Ben, them or THF or both!
Hi Ben, did you hear about the factory raids at Wei Jiang? Do you think they will remain in business and can still release their Ironhide? Or are they down for the count? Great video and take care!
Nope I’ve been told they are gone gone , apparently it wasn’t just Disney , it was hasbro as well
I need this in my life......
It will be cool if you can display/video of Mp44, KO Mp44, Mp10, Magic Square Op and Te 01 Op together. "Til all are one" takes a new meaning. Haha
been waiting for your review...so the KO is slightly taller and to replace the head you need to pop them off unlike the sliding feature of the original- at least the joints are fixed but stiffer....keep safe!
Yeah I tried and tried and tried to slide but it’s not happening , they all come with their own bit built in.. I am going to take a head apart and see what’s going on and investigate
You can’t even find this version anymore, they should do a re-release since MP-44 is coming back out again
As much as I want this I'll wait and see if they make an oversized one to replace mpp10
My supplier told me it is expected August now..
Lots of China stores have him in now , some are expecting in a couple of weeks
ShowZ initially had a release date of July, but it got pushed back to August.
I am sorry Ben but you mistransformed the backpack in robot mode. Great review, can't wait to get mine to fianlly enjoy that MP-44 mold, my official is back in its box...
Yeah I hadn’t folded it under , that’s actually how it comes out of the box
Can you by any chance state what parts are die cast on this figure? Most shops offering him for preorders listed him as KO MP-44 with added die cast without further details. That would be greatly appreciated!
I just got this in the mail today and I was wondering about the differences. I am very happy with my purchase. It's great for the price. On another note, You got me in a good way at 10:55 "It is a real mission" I never heard of that expression before and i love it ! is that your saying or is that a regional thing?
Only thing i dont like is that the eyes on the KO look very dead. At first i thought they were LEDs but apparently not
Got my deposit for this guy on Showz. Now I just hope that Wei jiang being taken out won't affect this guy
wei jiang got taken out?!?!?!??

After they sell a bunch of these you'll see a infinite style release with paint and a bunch of improvements for about the same price. The k.o. game is hilarious.
This is what TFDIRECT sent over BUT I believe it’s final
@@BensKOllectables ahh okay cool, I still would like to pick him up! The eyes I could paint or toyhax it I did paint my mp10s eyes so yeah. Also the matrix is the same as mp10s? Or different
@@LethalVenom02 The Matrix is different; the original MP44 didn't reuse *anything* from the MP10 molds.
You just photozapped both o to the same page, right? Good for quick reference when I don’t have 2.5 metric hours to spend. 👍
(Side Note: That PDF on TFW2005 by God Orion is a godsend!!)
The shoulder panel and Autobot symbol...this still doesn't bother me in the sense that most of the MP10 KOs did the exact same thing.
And finally, I still hope a Voyager sized KO of this is made.
I saw that someone on tf forum, that apparently ShowZ said they will ship in Aug
Lets hope it arrives soon!
@@GreenHad0ken And here we are in late October...I am loving this thing, flaws and all!! Wait, aren't you on TFW2005?? (I'm Kamen Rider Decade)
@@DragoonMS Hey hey! It is I! As you know I've been busy making it look it's best since! Haha.glad you finally got to enjoy it, what a wait! ✊🏿
Hope they do Nemesis soon.
Takara's doing Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime as MP49, and that runs $250 (at least with Hobby Link Japan, anyway) before shipping. I find it insane that they think that the trailer and stuff is worth $200...
What equipment or camera did you use to shoot the video? Thank you
Where was the insignia in the box I don't see it?
You have to really look.I had to go get mines out of the garbage(inside the box).
In case people are not aware, some of the audio recordings on the KO are in Chinese Mandarin.... they are not in the original MP-44.
And i believe the English audio is recorded from the cartoon, including background noise, unlike the official.
Hi Ben! Just a quick one please. Has the KO's height been increased slightly compared to the Takara one?
Ben, I just picked up my KO and I was wondering if yours has the left leg knee panel closing and the left heel spur issue?
Does anyone know the best way to paint the eyes? would it be to unscrew the head and paint the inside?
@@etiennebeaudoin6892 I think so, would get the best result. That's the plan when mine arrives.
@@etiennebeaudoin6892 painting the eyes was easy. You can sort out the block so you can slide the heads off too. Fxing the leg tab, ab crunch, and antenna also easy. Fixing the arm that fell off, was... easy too🤣🤣
I kind of like the darker blue on the KO more.
Hey Ben thanks so much for reviewing this. Do you know how much tf-direct will be charging? I know they have the deposit listed but not the end value. Your videos are always top notch sunz! Also what kinda packaging ? Is it just a plain box or sumpn?
Don’t know if I should get this? Or wait for the eventual next one to come out
Good for people who hate paint. One thing I don’t like is the eyes looks dead.
The painting NEVER justifies the price of the figure, or any other official masterpiece figure.
Edit: trust me, it just never does.
I’m sure you can take the head off and take out the eyes. Paint them and put them back in easy enough
The shoulder in vehicle mode looks like a distracting off red color compared to the rest of the cab.
Since I don't actually have room to put a trailer anyway I think I might pick this up to go with my MS prime.
Check out the hinge at the waist, there's definently a difference, in appearance anyway. Looks like an excellent ko
I think it's mostly probably due to the waist hinges being extended.
What about the paint chiping?
Does the white and yellow paint chips just like the OG one?
How did you get your shoulder emblem out? Struggling with mine haha
Ben, tell me, if you can, do you think one could swap the knees out on the KO and put them in the official.
I have MP44 and yea, I was one of the unlucky sods to get one with shit knees
Possibly , it’s a bit beyond me though sorry
MP44 toy version please !
With the chrome is very very good.
Hey I ordered this guy quite a while ago from the website you linked and I have yet to get him how long does it usually take
Suspect this will be the first of many KO’s and will end up with a Megatron situation inside the next 12-18 months, which painted ones etc
That bigass backpack is killing me. #backpacklivematters
For a KO figure this looks awesome normally I don’t collect KO figures since I like having the official but I think I might change my mind the official prime is just way too expensive I may be able to get nemesis but I’d be fine with a KO in my collection I’ll just have to wait on it for now
Just preordered this, but I kinda wished that the eyes are painted. It doesn't make sense since there was no light piping
is it bigger? smaller? the same size? bc i wanna replace my te01 with this ko bc it would scale better with mp36
Hey Ben, do you have the Silver Leg third version?
It looks to be a pretty good KO. Glad people are liking it. But I think if I where to get the MP-44 I would just shell out the $400 rather then the $100 for this. In a way I feel like this is over priced for what it is ultimately but that's just me
Seeing that I bought two official MP-44, I think I’ll buy this as a desk bot or to display in truck mode.
Ben was that still a test shot version? Or ?
Ben will you be reviewing the Hasbro Red series of 6 inch articulated Transformers?
