I agree. There's only a couple of solid episodes so far but his energy and charisma is off the charts. The overwhelming amount of emotional outbursts annoy me but he plays the scenes phenomenally. If there was more space between those moments I'd totally be crying every time, he just crushes it. Here's to hoping RTD steps back a little and gives the show over to guest writers more than once a season. I like RTD, but he's not "head writer for Doctor Who" material anymore. For season arcs, yes, keep him, but we need more people in the writing seats because Boom and Rogue felt fantastic as stories, and the odd RTD story here and there is fine like Dot And Bubble. Season 2 apparently has more guest writers so it has potential to be a genuinely good season. And the Moffat Christmas special is going to be GOOOOOOOD
Everyone complains about a new Doctor, everytime he regenerates. Then as the seasons unfold, and new stories are written the love affair begins anew. Ive been a Dr. Who fan since the early 70s. I loved Baker and immediately hated Davidson....for a couple of episodes, then his quips and sweater vest won me over. The same played out even with the revival. So, just be patient. Relax and let the love flow
Modern Who was my entry point to the fandom. Hated David Tennant, then loved him with the heat of a thousand suns, DESPISED Matt Smith and then fell in love and so on. It was a privilege to go back to Classic Who and experience everybody that came before as well. And I love some Doctors more than others, but every single one brought something new and amazing to the character and I hope this will continue till the end of time 🥰
I'm absolutely loving the fifteenth doctor! I loved his initial interactions with the fourteenth doctor after the bigeneration and he was amazing in The Church on Ruby Road! He was brilliant in Boom and he was incredible in those final scenes of Dot and Bubble! I loved the playful side of him in Rogue and I found it really emotional when he said goodbye to ruby at the end of Empire of Death! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of him in this year's christmas special and season 2! ❤️❤️🔷🎄😊
he is a doctor who technically didnt have to regenerate. he is greatly thankful for that and it shows through his appreciation of life and how energetic and happy he is....
My only wish is that if they're going to keep going with only eight episodes a season, they give Ncuti five seasons! He was pretty sparse in two of these episodes, and whether you like him or not, he deserves the time other actors got to explore and develop his Doctor!
Seems a bit premature to give him a "best moments" clipshow when he's barely been here a hot-minute. The last season had an anaemic number of episodes and he had maybe four minutes of actual screen time on 73 Yards and Dot & Bubble. Maybe wait a couple more seasons before dropping a "best moments"

Even this channels ratings are a bomb when they put this guy in. A 60-year-old franchise formerly beloved around the world and after 24 hours it only gets 8,500 views and 450 likes? There are people doing things like dancing for 10 seconds and making sock puppets and stuff the get over 10 times that many views. Disney won't even release the Disney Plus numbers they're so terrible and they always release the Disney Plus numbers. Most comic stores used to have a whole aisle or have I love Doctor Who stuff I know you're lucky if you can find a couple of action figures. This new show has even damaged the appeal of classic Who with some of the broadcasters saying they can't even look at their favorite episodes from the past. Classic Doctor Who merchandise is still selling okay but nothing like what it was before the Whitaker era. The theatrical release of the anniversary was met with empty theaters. Only a few mainstream shields for the BBC like the guardian say anything positive about the show. They took a 60-year franchise which was a global phenomenon especially during the baker years and during the Matt Smith era and they absolutely destroyed it with every woke, Dei and aren't white men so yesterday messaging from start to finish and every one of these lousy episodes that aren't even well-written and they are as atrociously acted. You can say you like it. I will respond by saying that you have phenomenally poor taste in entertainment and almost the entirety of the world agrees with me because they have walked away from the show.
The season as a whole was a let down, but Ncuti was fantastic. Say what you want about the abundance of emotional outbursts, he played them fantastically. And his charisma and energy make for some amazing moments. Keep in mind, a lot of doctors have had less than stellar starts. Colin Baker, horrendous start but was genuinely pretty alright later on, and became fantastic in expanded media. Similar can be said for Paul McGann David Tennant also got off to a bad start IMO. Yes he's the most popular modern doctor, but series 2 was quite bad on rewatch, only being saved by Tennant's charisma and being somewhat interested in the whole 10 and Rose thing. New Earth is a pretty bad series debut, Love and Monsters sucks but has an ironic appreciation factor to it, Fear Her just sucks, the only standouts being The Girl In The Fireplace and the finale 2 parter. The Cyberman 2 parter is ok but not really that good overall. Peter Capaldi, his worst series IMO is series 8, but his Doctor is genuinely fantastic and goes on an amazing arc. The finale and Mummy on the Orient Express are my only standouts, but damn it's a wonky series overall. And Jodie Whittaker, Chibnall's style isn't my thing, I don't like any of his episodes that much, but he's not the worst showrunner the show's ever had imo (looking at JNT) her first episode is fantastic but series 11 kinda blows. At least series 12 has a few genuinely brilliant episodes (the Nikola Tesla and Villa DioDatti ones are good and really) Ncuti is a good doctor, he just needs better stories and maybe a couple extra episodes per season, 8 a season/9 a year isn't enough for a series as complex as Doctor Who, for a good series arc, fleshed out stories etc.

I have been a long-time follower of Doctor Who for many years, going back to the original series itself. But when they brought in the Thirteenth Doctor, Jodie Auckland Whittaker, THAT was the start and failing point of what Doctor Who was all about, for me. The way she acted, the obvious script she was repeating word for word, let alone the fake running on camera to get from one place to another within a scene, made it really hard to watch. She pretty much started to kill off the character and value of who the Doctor was all about. When Jodie Auckland Whittaker took command of the Doctor, she started the downfall of the whole Doctor Who franchise, again, for ME. When I heard that she had vacated the character, I thought, 'About Damn Time. She Made My Teeth Itch Watching Her Whenever I Watched Her Play The Doctor'. Then when they brought in Ncuti Gatwa as the fifteenth Doctor, there were too many storylines and fake twists to the plot that you could see within the first 10-15 minutes of each episode being forced upon the viewer, there was no way he could successfully pull the franchise back from extinction. If anything, he pushed it further back into the whispers of what could have been, and what came before him. Granted, he may have just been following the script given to him, but he didn't add any value of his own to the Doctor's character by the way he portrayed the part. On many occasions, I have gone back and binge-watched the whole Doctor Who series, just because I had nothing better to watch, and I'm sorry, in MY opinion, both Jodie Auckland Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa together destroyed everything that had been successfully created before their involvement that came before them. Whoever it may be, if there ever will be a fifteenth Doctor, they are going to have to work that much harder to bring the viewing figures back up to where they once were to make the Doctor Who series feel valued again. If there is to be no fifteenth Doctor, then all I can say, the casting of both Jodie Auckland Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa has been the death of the Doctor Who character. Just MY opinion, and this is coming from an avid Doctor Who fan.

Fine ill rewatch this series for the 5th time. Great doctor so far. Can't wait To see if he gets darker as he goes on like Matt smith.

Whoever it may be, if there ever will be a fifteenth Doctor, they are going to have to work that much harder to bring the viewing figures back up to where they once were to make the Doctor Who series feel valued again. If there is to be no fifteenth Doctor, then all I can say, the casting of both Jodie Auckland Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa has been the death of the Doctor Who character. Just MY opinion, and this is coming from an avid Doctor Who fan.
