Here is the template for you to copy and paste:
Dear [First name Last name],
I would be grateful if you would consider the [attached/enclosed] poems for publication in [Journal Name].
[Insert one sentence of flattery about the journal]
[Poetry CV, including your publication history and possibly your performance/slam history too]
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.

Just wanted to say that I really love your videos. A topic that interests me is what journals you can submit too. I looked online and I honestly got completely lost. Anyway, good luck on your challenge before 27 (yiu deserve more than 500 subscribers) and thank you for your channel and the information you give us all.

This was very helpful and I was just wondering what to write if we dont have any previous published peices and no competition backgrounds? Lol, my cover letters are mostly blank because of that.
Shall I include my name in the cover letter if it asks to write in third person?
And does local writers get an upper hand over foreign writers?
Yes include your name if writing in the third person. As for international writers, it depends on the publication - some places actively look for poems from round the world! My advice is to just keep trying
Stop making us crave for what your drinking before educating us because the craving will make our eyes to be focused on the cup hahaha.
I should add a disclaimer that everyone should make a cup of tea before sitting down to watch my videos :)

Hey! Thanks for the comment - it depends on what you're submitting. If you're submitting a collection then it is worth giving an overview of the collection. But for individual poems for publication I don't think it is necessary.
BUT if you really want to - I say no more than one sentence!
