I hate that recently I can't sit down and listen to his newest albums and not want to skip most of the tracks unlike his older stuff. I have so much love and appreciation for him because a lot of his music helped me through a lot and introduced me to Jake Hill who has become my favorite artist.
I mean you're not always gunna resonate with music, times & people change. You're most likely not some depressed or "misunderstood" 16 year old anymore so it's only fair you don't like his music in the same way you used to.
Same here. I found Josh A from his collab with Chills and Trippie Redd. I binged his whole discography and liked it. I decided to do the same for Jake Hill since they collaborated a lot and loved way more of his songs than Josh A. Now Jake Hill is a top 2 rap artist for me. His flow and voice is just so concise and much better than Josh A imo.
i would love to sit down with him and convey how a fan truly perceives his newest stuff. We want what’s best for him and will be honest about his music
Ironically Disgrace is my all time favorite Josh A album because of his melodramatic tone to it, it's the same reason why "Last night I accepted death" is one of my top 3 songs of all time, the main issue I have right now with Josh is almost every song I still think is great but there is no concurrent theme or feeling like it should be on the same album, love the vid, think Jake is picking up steam because he is doing exactly what fans want, I feel like lil revive feels like old Josh A more than Josh A himself
He did say on his podcast he was putting out different music on Josh a and lil revive is the style of his older music Unless I'm remembering it incorrectly
I am late to finding Josh, I found his music during the off time in between fearless ii and the return albums, but still love his music, I do agree that he has carbon copies of old music, but still think that when you break apart the albums all the songs stand alone are great. Sad to see that when the fearless ii album is all one it fails to do what it tried.
something people fail to realize is Jake hill had the exact same thing happen to him just very early on in his career. while Jake was still fairly unknown josh had just started to blow up and make a name for himself. shortly after about a year of a slow rise for josh, Jake had done many albums and found a way to make any kind of song and have it still work for him, but josh was still doing what everyone loved and didn't see a reason to try and expand his music to different genres. now years later Jake can make any song style and people will love it as a few examples are coward(phonk), in to the fray(rock and emo rap), all along(emo pop) and many more (there's was to many to list) and this doesn't mean Jake will leave josh as josh had stayed with Jake even during the massive blow up he had. knowing how they both are I cannot see a world where Jake leaves josh and stops making music with him. josh just needs to figure out how to make songs in different styles and genres and make them still feel like Josh A type songs. we just have to be patient while josh tries to master his craft the way Jake did. while we could possible see less collabs with them as we did before, they will at least be in different styles and genres.
Well said, I've been thinking about how Jake is capable of making different genres and still feel like him and it's cause he's been doing it a while and found a lane for him to chill in
I feel the exact opposite lol, maybe I’m in the wrong but I feel like Jake’s music, even tho I love it so much, isn’t hitting as hard as Josh’s. And I used to like Jake’s more. I’m just ready for Jake to do a full hard album instead of just an ep
I kinda think personally josh may be growing up more in a way, he may be finally finding happiness a bit more, thats why I think the fearless II songs sound the way they do, theyre kinda happier songs in my eyes even though the lyrics are still kinda deep, I could be horribly wrong but mabye hes thinking the death of lil revive is the start of his happiness, again I could be horribly wrong so please dont say anything bad 😭 Honestly tho amazing video mate keep it up pleasee its ive come back to this video multiple times its so good
I can agree with almost everything in this video. I started listening to josh when quarantine started. The funny thing is I found lil revive first but anyways I personally think the vaulters was rushed and used to get more people to stream the album. It did indeed work even got me hyped for the album. I hope with the next lil revive album probably coming out this October I’m hopping it tie up the story let alone continue it.
Just wanted to let people know from what ive seen josh a has fully leaned into the lil revive side of things making his new Christmas and Halloween tracks this year
Its kinda sad that in Ghost he literally made a comment on the negative reception to LVD, and then this album had even more backlash. I don't hate this album, but I think for the people that miss old Josh (which I do in some ways), he should do Disgrace 2 and have it be in very similar style to Disgrace, like some good shit talking songs, some rock elements, and the low energy vocals. And really he should go back to swearing. I probably sound like a child, but to me it adds more feeling to songs, not all songs need it but some could use it.
No no I agree! I would be okay if he went darker again, I think his music was better from then, and I know Josh can make good music even though he's not in a bad head space anymore which is great! I don't want to make it seem like I want Josh to be mentally poor for the sake of his music's quality.
@@aperture3767 well I don't remember what song but but I think he said he doesn't care about what fans say he won't go back to that dark place he was in for those songs
Great video. One thing I would like to say is that when you were talking about the Revelation skit you mentioned that it was strange that this was the first time current Josh and Disgrace Josh met. In the previous skit the other Josh's leave present Josh alone to search for Disgrace josh. This heavily implies that Mixed Emotions - Confessions were in the style of current Josh and the ones from I Feel Like Dying - Vultures were the Disgrace Josh.
That is a great point! But to me, this brings in the question of pacing and how those songs play into the story, cuz even if we look at them that way, they still feel out of place, at least to me. And thank you so much for your support! it means the world fr.
@@aperture3767 Yeah, I get that. like I don't understand how sober is a Disgrace Josh song and the first 4 songs are kinda just jumbled around just because. Also the fact that Vultures is from the perspective of Lil Revive just doesn't sit right.
@@_Riccy_ Completely agree, I don't even dislike Vultures, the POV thing w Revive irritates me tho. The story just doesn't make sense at that point nor end on a proper note.
I don’t really get how people can complain about him not being like his old self but also complain about his music sounding the same as his old stuff. Pick a lane please.
People don’t know anything about his songs. He was controlled by people, jakehill took all the spotlight, his producers forced him to write the albums the way they want them to be. He talked about it a lot. His newest album is a testament to the end of that.
Tbh every song he makes is elite in my opinion, I love what he's going with his albums which include rap bangers, melodic rapping and singing in LV Deluxe and Fearless II for example
Oh yeah i always forget about that song, and it’s one of my favs! Point still stands tho, I think it’s been long enough, and they should collab again at some point if their paths cross.
@@aperture3767 yeah i agree because their only point is “we dont wanna be known as a duo” even though one song wouldn’t hurt. Its not like people are asking for 3 more BOD’s
Ok here's the thing I didn't start listening to Josh until I heard cycles from save our souls, but after I heard it I instantly fell in love, so I went back and listened to all of his and Jakes collab albums, personally I love fearless II and the last 3 tracks are great, but you did make some valid points on the album sounding like past tracks he had already made, and at the time of this comment, Josh and Jake collabed again with they're single back from the dead and lil revives song coven off hellraiser so I have a feeling a new Josh and Jake duo album is coming, I have much love for Josh and his music from the first better off dead to fearless II, I can't get enough of it
To clarify some stuff for you in your video, I generally agree with a lot of this video but there's a few things I would like to mention so u know if anybody hasn't already lol Vengeance is similar to Revenge as Revenge and YNA in general was meant to be Fearless 2, but would end up taking it's own form, this applies to Lonely Vibes as well, as it ended up being it's own sound. Fearless 2 had a specific order, without knowing this order I can completely see your points, the skits throw you off a bit, but songs 6-10 (Mixed Emotions, Lost Kids, etc) are meant to be CURRENT JOSH A as stated by him on his alternate twitter account. Vultures has story within the song, the lyrics were changed and formed to be sang in the perspective of Lil Revive. "I gave you everything you took" is referencing the lore of Lil Revive giving all of his time and effort into Josh, but "you took" references the fact Revive blames Josh for his death when he got hit by a car. Vultures also went rock because Lil Revive's style is confirmed to be more rock and less rap. Finally, Josh has wanted to make rock for many years from what he has said. His music generally reflects the fact he's been stuck trying to transition between rap, pop and trying to go to rock because you can hear how he combines elements of it all and it feels awkward and generally boring sometimes. For example, "I Feel Like Dying" has a whole rock theme and upbeat tune to it but he never feels like he puts too much emotion with his voice into it, like he's not leaning into the music per say, like you said. Josh would stay with the rock theme, but then switch it up when he hit a verse, with the guitar but also pop/rap style with the snare, high hat and other rap/pop instruments being implemented into those parts. It genuinely feels like he has a style just can't find the comfortable sound he wants to go with.
Idk if you saw but josh posted on Twitter which parts of the album are supposed to be the different Josh's. You got a most of the Josh's right but a few of them were not what Josh claimed them to be on Twitter. Great vid, love the edits and music clips!
thank you for the support! and i happened to have missed that tweet but frankly, you shouldn’t really have to explain something like when the music tried to but failed.
just a bit of my ranting… Retroland and Blessed 2 will always have a special place in my heart. when Lex said he was gonna be on the album i really expected an EDM type track in there, something like RIP or LEGENDS but he just said a couple words and dipped. i also feel like he didn’t do Retroland enough justice, i didn’t hear a piano/lofi type beat in there like Winona or Hollow (miss u) i kind of felt betrayed. i really wish we had gotten that snippet version of Vultures, i really loved that distorted voice he used, maybe im just used to unfinished Kanye songs lmao also great vid, loved the editing
If you listen to the whole album on RUclips you can pick up the actual story of the album and the different Joshes in the music. But I agree with a lot of the points in this video either way
So I too have been listening to josh a since i was in highschool as well and no matter what happens i will always be a fan of him, i love all of his songs and the music he makes, when i saw the song Dallas on his Spotify stuff i didnt want to listen to it but i gave it a shot and loved it yeah josh had a small portion in the song but it still worked, his lil revive side of things is also amazing and i will still love what josh does and i realized he has been makimg the same stuff but i will still love the music because its still good music and speaks well to me. You just need to remember making new songs and giving them a new beat isnt an easy thing, you have to put rhythm and beat to the lyrics. But i do hope he does go back to his old ways or makes some good things its just getting hard because everything sadly needs auto tune and its sad. But i will always love josh a and i will always listen to him because he also helped me out through tough times.
Fearless 2 Was a amazing album He has talked about how he doesnt like to make that music anymore because it makes him re experience his trauma Once again I think Fearless 2 Was amazing he switched up genres and thats it I still love his music a ton.
It's kind of funny I can agree with you on a lot of points but for some different reasons. I think I've always been more of a fan of Jake and lean toward enjoying most of Josh's music that goes that direction. (with Fearless II, the stuff before On My Own) Was never really into his slow emo songs because I just like a lot of people that do it better IMO. I think the worst part of Fearless II is everything after Revelation. It just reminds me of trash mainstream pop-hop that you would hear at the local bar. Would like to see him and Jake collab more again because in the last couple years I find myself just listening to Jake a lot more and just Josh's old music. Could just be a taste difference, but I find emo rap pretty hard to listen to unless it's creative and stands out.
came back to this after almost a year and i mostly agree. Fearless II seemed very rushed. josh said on the podcast before that Lonely Vibes was originally going to be Fearless II before it became its own style and became Pop. the songs like Let You Go seems very familiar to Broken off Fearless. I believe that the Rap tracks on the Deluxe and a few songs off GrimPeaks III were originally going to be on the original Fearless II. Very Good video with great points
Basically we don't need old Josh back, we just need the creativity and character back that Josh had in the BOD - Save Our Souls-ish era. Great first video man, loved it
After hearing the vultures leak, I’m so upset that vultures is the way it is now, it doesn’t feel right and definitely woke me up the whole fearless II album not feeling like josh, amazing video!
It is the best critique video I ever watched, hope to see more from you! 🔥Isn't there a new album from josh a? And yeah, I ain't getting anything wrong bro, don't worry😁
I dont think fearless 2 is about selfreflection, the whole Josh A/ Lil revive storytelling part with the other Joshes from older albums is not specifically made for the Fearless 2 album, like he said in the podcast, he always wanted to make some cartoon- animated stuff with lil revive and this whole storytelling thing is part of that. The idea to use this to make a selfreflection album is good, but i dont think thats what Josh had in mind when he made the album
First off this is a really well done video and you went about this topi quite well and most definitely make some good points. That said I genuinely don't understand why people have such a problem with his newer music and why he has received so much hate. Josh has been my top played artist sense BOD 1 and and Fearless II is my favorite overall album at the end of the day we will all have songs/albums we don't like but in the end it is up what the artist wants. And I love what he has been doing on lil revive recreantly and I'm happy for him. (Note: Art is subjective, and we all have a shift in preferences)
The SOS time was the best part of my life I've know about josh since 2015 and Jake in like 2018 and they have been helping me slot since life isn't the best again but it's better then before 2019
All songs are dedicated to each Josh so fearless Josh I'm the disgrace Josh and I'm not alone Josh have their own similarities of their original favorite song that's why it sounds like that
your not alone came at a turning point in my life and found it after a few key tracks save our souls led me to josh and since then ive awaited every drop from him but personally i haven't found anything that to really take me back to that era of music, it was similar to when nf dropped clouds it had some good tracks but just couldn't for me match the emotion
personally even though it is annoying that vultures got deleted (he confirmed on podcast) and all these other things, i still enjoy the music even though it doesn't feel like the original fearless
I’m only 3 minutes.. so I don’t know whether or not I’m going agree with you. But I don’t think I will. Lonely vibes, and disgrace are 2 of my 3 favourites from him. The other of the 3 being save our souls. You’re not alone is a great album too. And fearless 2 has one my all time favourites being vultures. Warfare is also a phenomenal song in my opinion.
It sucks that the album is so meh considering that it's meant to be a sequel to basically the biggest album he's ever made, but man Warfare is a massive highlight to me, and feels (or atleast felt when I first heard it) much longer than it actually is (which imo is a good thing). Great video btw! Excited to see what you've got coming in the future
Thank you my man! That means so much to me, feel free to check out the other videos I have up right now! And I agree with all of your points. I loved Warfare and it feels like a 4 min track which I like, I wish more of his music on Fearless 2 was like that
@@aperture3767 oh yeah I'll take a look, especially since I'm about to lay down so I have nothing better to do. Listening to Warfare after going through the video really made me realize how almost iconic his basslines are, the bassline in Warfare alone gives it that Josh sound and the beat switch was just the cherry on top
@@DAventador44 Yeah honestly Josh uses a very similar drum pattern in a lot of songs but they hit because he changes the drum themselves up and it sounds dope most of the time
@@aperture3767 it's a very unique sound. My biggest disappointment though is the change in Vultures. I really like the song as is but man the original was next level, would love to see someone some day remix it to get that older sound
Yoooo are those live clips from Chicago in 2019? If so i was at that show and it was the first vacation me and my (now) wife went on right after we started dating. These two really helped bond us through music and I’ll always love them both
hey man sorry for not having seen this sooner, but i love this so much man. Josh and Jake will always hold a special place in my heart and my opinion of them or their music can’t ever change the beautiful moments they’re directly or indirectly responsible for. Very happy for both of you guys, and hope you guys are doing well :D
@@aperture3767 no worries, i appreciate that! 6 years later we’re still here going strong in a happy marriage 🙏🏻 our first Christmas together i opened a box with tickets to this show and a receipt for a hotel she booked. Blew my mind since we’d been dating less than 2 months. Jake and Josh showed me i had a keeper 💕
The weirdest thing about josh is his voice somehow got became less unique. In disgrace he did the low tone and like layered his voice I think and it just sounds soooo much better than this raw voice singing stuff he’s been doing. There’s no way he can go back and listen to disgrace or even yna and tell us fearless 2 is better quality music
I use Wondershare Filmora! It’s a free service BUT it has a paywall to remove the watermark. I highly recommend it as it’s super easy to use on surface level but also very effective to more complicated stuff and serves as a middle step between more “complicated” services like Vegas and Adobe, and “easier” services. I still need to understand Adobe editing softwares better but Filmora has always been super helpful and easy. Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram (@aperture_dotcom) or twitter (ApertureDotCom) if you have any questions and i’d be happy to help!
@@DAventador44 Yeah there are some premium effects and whatnot but I think you can do some crazy stuff, you just gotta be creative and willing to put in the time.
I really love every piece of his music but honestly, lately I feel like a teen somewhere in 16 when I listen to his music, when i'm actually nearly 20. The new albums (excluding fearless 2 it's great imo) just doesn't carry the same message. I really got my fingers crossed for new lil revive album and that it's much less about heartbreaks and love stuff (we got that in save our souls).
I just want to point this out there the lil revive idea of being a bad guy was actually in his podcast the Josh cast she talks about a potential lore in the Josh verse so pretty much he's creating a story with the music he also tweeted about it one point
damn i can't imagine talking about this dude for this long, but as an huge fan who's since grown out of his music I'll probably agree with what u have to say.
Honestly, im a big josh a d rider but i love hearing this. i respect your opinion tbh its vaild, i feel like other people just say dumb things on why he "fell off"
Thank you so much for your support! Seriously means the world to me, and it keeps me going. And yeah I have my gripes with him but it doesn't help to just say shit without providing why you think that when prompted to do so.
At the end of Vultures its a cliff hanger which is going to be explored in the next Lil Revive Album and Also the last Double J song was Wash Your Hands It came out 2021 or 2020. Love The Video :)
i updated the description with the correction, thank u so much. And I'm not against cliffhangers, but the story itself felt super unfinished and didn't really feel like it earned that cliffhanger. at least in my opinion.
@@aperture3767 according to Josh's podcast channel, the one he just created, fearless II was the beginning of the storyline and the battle between the Josh's from every reality he created with his albums. And yes it may be unfinished, but he also did mention that the storyline will bounce between Josh A and Lil Revive account. It's like a perspective thing. eventually the battle will begin. You can look at Josh's recent podcast on the Josh a podcast channel and he explains the album and the storyline. The crazy thing was, actually, I'm not gonna go too deep into it, i have no idea if you are interested in watching the most recent podcast. So I'm not gonna spoil too much about it, even though I might've done that already, there's a lot more to it. Apologies, i think imma shut my mouth 🤣
@@MrKickOfficial I'll check out his podcasts but I stand by the fact that explaining the facts about the story doesn't excuse you leaving a story unfinished which is exactly what Josh has done. The story should be self-standing, especially as a first entry. Like imagine if Spider-Man No Way Home ended right after Tobey and Andrew Spider-Men showed up then the ending shot is a shot of Green Goblin watching the Spider-Men and he says "Ahhhh Spider-Man, all of them... I'm gonna kill them." then followed by a bunch of shots of Ned and MJ doing random things like drawing, playing board games, a bunch of other filler shots. That's like what the ending of Fearless 2 was.
@@aperture3767 well sometimes leaving a story unfinished is the way to get people anticipated for what's to come. in vultures, lil revive saying "when i find josh, imma kill him", it's like a message telling us "TO BE CONTINUED". And I get what you're saying with Spider-Man No Way Home, but there are movies that foreshadow that the story is continuing in a certain way. and a movie is majorly different from an album. you can see what's going on in a movie, but with an album that intends to form a whole storyline, there is no full picture. What Josh wants to do is drag the story on, you cannot fit an entire story in one album or this album wouldn't be out right now. I also see this album as a reboot of each character, except each character is more 3 dimensional. There Are Parts of The Album That give each character presented currently another appearance, which is why like mixed emotions felt like an older josh, that older josh was more likely the disgrace josh, and im going to say this now, when the albums were made and their realities were created, each josh doesn't change who they are. You're Not Alone Josh Wants To Prove Himself as an Addicting Feeling. Every Josh has their original personality from each album. What I'm also noticing is you're confused of Main Josh And Disgrace Josh Just meeting in a skit. The First skit was like a mission briefing for josh to find disgrace josh, the 4 songs is just main josh trying to find him with a sword in his hand from the fearless josh. Since He Knows what disgrace josh is since he created the character himself, maybe he has a passive ability to follow a certain song pattern that disgrace josh had and was trying to trust the flow of the music that josh had. and then in the skit, josh was probably lead to disgrace josh, but wasn't fully sure because, each character is in his world now, and all of this reality stuff that started in the album happened so fast. What I'm saying is a storyline doesn't have to be fulfilled to be perfect, since every story can be dragged on, its common knowledge, there could always be a way for a producer or developer to make a story continue from what is being present from the visible eye or ears of the public. And I can understand that first impression of the album, the 14 tracks because All Time Low, Cold Heart, & Undefeated are just bonus tracks. make the story not fully represented or look and feel unfinished, but the more you listen, the more you got to create that picture in your head, since there is no physical way currently to get the full picture that josh wants to represent.
I am also a fan that found Josh A in quarantine times and his last few albums haven't been bad to say, they just haven't been to the levels of SOS Fearless BOD or Disgrace. YNA has grown on me more and more since its release and now I'd say it's one of his best 3 albums. Lonely Vibes is interesting as I'm not a fan of the first half of the album always pressing play from Anxious onwards. For me it's his new songs sounding like carbon copies, same beats, similar lyrics, and a guitar synth or base in the back. He really needs to link with Jake again because it seems like he knows what he's doing more than Josh. Jake rn is keeping his music wide open with all different types and still knows how to put an album together. Or maybe Josh could try and venture to other artists and try creating something big like he did with Jake. For now, I consider him to be heading on a downward trajectory.
I feel like it’s good to get someone like NEFFEX on the song cuz he has a big following so it could help him get his message to more people, plus NEFFEX is amazing can’t wait to see them work more.
Basically Josh’s music now sounds like it’s from a guy who was depressed, but now isn’t. I’m not saying he doesn’t go through pain or struggles, but it doesn’t sound very genuine anymore. Hellraiser and Back From the Dead were better but I’m cautious of what’s next.
ngl him & maybe Jake also both turned into NFs which isn't my taste at least I've grew out of during the end/after hs back in 2019. AND IT'S CRAZY TO ME because I know Josh's stuff did not sound anything like NF in the beginning
@@KadenFinity and im glad to hear that you enjoy it, but a lot of people,. including myself. are tired of this boring commercialized Josh, and we want the old josh back, but we may never see him again.
9 minutes into the video and I can already tell I disagree a lot with this guy as fearless 2 was my favorite project as it showed how Josh grew and became healthier and took control of himself. I’m going to finish the video and see how it ends
We need someone to interview him so we know what's going on but I looked it up on yt he did no regular videos and no interviews I haven't heard anyone talk to him for too long he has another profile that he makes music on lil revive but it's not the same though idk I've been commeting on his videos and trying to start a convo but he only replied once and isn't responding idk I asked if he could do a interview with a certain someone and he said that he is trying to set up something for us but idk he hasn't been doing anything
is it just me or am I the only one that like prefers the newer stuff? Like fearless to present I would rather listen to than anything in the past. i don’t really have much issues with his new music but ig I just may not be too hard to please😂. sure there are some songs I tend to skip over but I have that with almost any music I listen to. But his new grim reaper album for lil revive I actually can’t skip a song on it I love all of them. just my 2 cents tho
I think I feel alot different about this, Mood Swings was one of the first Josh A songs I ever heard and that style is something I personally really love. The You're Not Alone album is probably my favorite album from Josh and Lonely Vibes is a favorite for me as well. And from his new album the song Vultures has to be my favorite Josh A song. Now don't get me wrong I love all of his old music but I started listening to him during his newer eras and I myself love his new music
I never realized this. I still really like all these songs even tho they are the same thing over and over. I'm kinda fine with it. I really liked mixed emotions. But yeah I get what some people mean. But I still really like these songs.
I'm sorry but this video is pointless. you're looking into things way too much. As you said he's released 20 albums in how many years and he's young. a 1 min video saying slow down on quantity and focus on quality is all that is needed. the more time between albums the more unique they will be (if that's what you want).
nice review, also nice live video clip :)

I feel the exact opposite lol, maybe I’m in the wrong but I feel like Jake’s music, even tho I love it so much, isn’t hitting as hard as Josh’s. And I used to like Jake’s more. I’m just ready for Jake to do a full hard album instead of just an ep
Really great video. Brings a new perspective from an older fan of Josh, and makes me rethink my opinions on Josh's newer music. Great editing!
Thank you so much! that means a lot
No shot I got this video recommended to me and I go look and Josh A dropped an album literally like a week ago
I kinda think personally josh may be growing up more in a way, he may be finally finding happiness a bit more, thats why I think the fearless II songs sound the way they do, theyre kinda happier songs in my eyes even though the lyrics are still kinda deep, I could be horribly wrong but mabye hes thinking the death of lil revive is the start of his happiness, again I could be horribly wrong so please dont say anything bad 😭
Honestly tho amazing video mate keep it up pleasee its ive come back to this video multiple times its so good
If I’m honest disgrace is still actually my favorite of his albums even if most don’t love it
and hey! thats totally fair! It's grown on me a lot and I still really enjoy it as well.
I feel the same way
Yessss!
Tysm for ur support! and yes I really hope the revive album is good.
same i had Lil revive recommended to me on RUclips first and then I started listing saw Josh A get recommended and got hooked
@@lagfos1283 and thats fine, I don't want him to suffer for his music, I personally don't enjoy his current music tho
The release of out the grave has me hopeful, seems like a current josh take on disgrace
Any chance you will review any other albums? I loved this and would love to see more
Such an great video I've never looked at Josh's music this way despite listening to him for well over 5 years now thank you for the amazing breakdown
Listening to his lil revive albums and even his podcast is still fire i think he still makes good music
Tbh every song he makes is elite in my opinion, I love what he's going with his albums which include rap bangers, melodic rapping and singing in LV Deluxe and Fearless II for example
Disgrace was my favoroite josh album imo but I see what you mean ngl RUN UP was there peak collab
this is one of the best reviews on Josh A. I love how in depth you went.
Aye thank you thank you. That means a lot. Thanks for checking out the video!
love this, glad to see you telling what we all think.

Run up is so sick, I bump it at the gym pretty much every day lol
Such a well edited video and solid points are made. Good luck with your next project
Thank you, brother. it means a lot
Great video! I love the editing and you have some great points. One note though: miss me was the last Double J song, not RUN UP
Oh yeah i always forget about that song, and it’s one of my favs!
@@prettiestgirljade at the time it was a problem, but I thought they’d collab again by now
Ok here's the thing I didn't start listening to Josh until I heard cycles from save our souls, but after I heard it I instantly fell in love, so I went back and listened to all of his and Jakes collab albums, personally I love fearless II and the last 3 tracks are great, but you did make some valid points on the album sounding like past tracks he had already made, and at the time of this comment, Josh and Jake collabed again with they're single back from the dead and lil revives song coven off hellraiser so I have a feeling a new Josh and Jake duo album is coming, I have much love for Josh and his music from the first better off dead to fearless II, I can't get enough of it
To clarify some stuff for you in your video, I generally agree with a lot of this video but there's a few things I would like to mention so u know if anybody hasn't already lol
Vengeance is similar to Revenge as Revenge and YNA in general was meant to be Fearless 2, but would end up taking it's own form, this applies to Lonely Vibes as well, as it ended up being it's own sound.
Great vid, love the edits and music clips!
thank you for the support! and i happened to have missed that tweet but frankly, you shouldn’t really have to explain something like when the music tried to but failed.
just a bit of my ranting…
Retroland and Blessed 2 will always have a special place in my heart.
when Lex said he was gonna be on the album i really expected an EDM type track in there, something like RIP or LEGENDS but he just said a couple words and dipped.
i also feel like he didn’t do Retroland enough justice, i didn’t hear a piano/lofi type beat in there like Winona or Hollow (miss u) i kind of felt betrayed.
i really wish we had gotten that snippet version of Vultures, i really loved that distorted voice he used, maybe im just used to unfinished Kanye songs lmao
also great vid, loved the editing
If you listen to the whole album on RUclips you can pick up the actual story of the album and the different Joshes in the music. But I agree with a lot of the points in this video either way
I took the album as the couple of songs before each skit of the Josh they were going to get was the flow he was going after plus his new flow.
I'm not okay with some arguments that are in there, but I really like the video man. you should deff do more video like this!
I appreciate the support! and I'm not saying that my arguments are objective facts. I just wanted to present my argument, not that you have to agree.
Fearless 2 Was a amazing album
He has talked about how he doesnt like to make that music anymore because it makes him re experience his trauma Once again I think Fearless 2 Was amazing he switched up genres and thats it I still love his music a ton.
It doesn’t feel the same to me either but I still love the music he makes and will support his passion no matter what
It's kind of funny I can agree with you on a lot of points but for some different reasons.
I think I've always been more of a fan of Jake and lean toward enjoying most of Josh's music that goes that direction. (with Fearless II, the stuff before On My Own)
Was never really into his slow emo songs because I just like a lot of people that do it better IMO.
Josh A will still be one of my favorite artist til I die.
The idea to use this to make a selfreflection album is good, but i dont think thats what Josh had in mind when he made the album
i would love a follow up video when josh drops a new album on his main account. it is tragic what happened to his music
The SOS time was the best part of my life I've know about josh since 2015 and Jake in like 2018 and they have been helping me slot since life isn't the best again but it's better then before 2019
I also really liked lonely vibes especially the deluxe
All songs are dedicated to each Josh so fearless Josh I'm the disgrace Josh and I'm not alone Josh have their own similarities of their original favorite song that's why it sounds like that
your not alone came at a turning point in my life and found it after a few key tracks save our souls led me to josh and since then ive awaited every drop from him but personally i haven't found anything that to really take me back to that era of music, it was similar to when nf dropped clouds it had some good tracks but just couldn't for me match the emotion
Great video man ❤️ love all the points that you made 🙏.
thank you so much my man!
Lil Revives newest album “Hellraiser” is in my opinion his best solo album.
As much as outlaw is a ford song it was one of my favorites from that album for some reason
personally even though it is annoying that vultures got deleted (he confirmed on podcast) and all these other things, i still enjoy the music even though it doesn't feel like the original fearless
and hey thats fair and valid, not everyone has to share my opinion.
And hey, thats fair! I'm not here to invalidate anyone taste in music.
My opinion: fearless 2 is my favourite album.
and I can respect that, even if you say that just be contrarian
The weirdest thing about josh is his voice somehow got became less unique. In disgrace he did the low tone and like layered his voice I think and it just sounds soooo much better than this raw voice singing stuff he’s been doing. There’s no way he can go back and listen to disgrace or even yna and tell us fearless 2 is better quality music
For real. It might have more time spent on it but it feels more hollow and less unique to Josh himself
Goddamn the editing it phenomenal, what do you use to edit this stuff? I use vllo and capcut

I thought Fearless II was fire. Great album!
6:26 that's the exact same thought I had on this Song lol. It really sounds like an ad for a Car or something
Fearless II was amazing what u mean
I just want to point this out there the lil revive idea of being a bad guy was actually in his podcast the Josh cast she talks about a potential lore in the Josh verse so pretty much he's creating a story with the music he also tweeted about it one point
damn i can't imagine talking about this dude for this long, but as an huge fan who's since grown out of his music I'll probably agree with what u have to say.
You're talented man. Holy shit

I started listening to josh A when I was 10 I don't know what happened I love josh A needs a little bit of pep in h is step❤
I'm pretty sure Josh's new album on Lil Revive will be a total comeback from the last album!
At the end of Vultures its a cliff hanger which is going to be explored in the next Lil Revive Album and Also the last Double J song was Wash Your Hands It came out 2021 or 2020. Love The Video :)
Oh yeah I forgot about that song lmao
i updated the description with the correction, thank u so much.
Sober was absolutely sick. they both killed it
I am also a fan that found Josh A in quarantine times and his last few albums haven't been bad to say, they just haven't been to the levels of SOS Fearless BOD or Disgrace.
I've seen these guys in concert. It was awesome. Better off dead Jake hill and josh A. Even got a shirt. Great video
Hellraiser and Back From the Dead were better but I’m cautious of what’s next.
lmao i thought i was the only one that thought outlaw sounded like it should be in a truck commercial
Disgrace was my favorite album by josh honestly, but Jake Hill literally every song he makes is fire imo
ngl him & maybe Jake also both turned into NFs which isn't my taste at least I've grew out of during the end/after hs back in 2019. AND IT'S CRAZY TO ME because I know Josh's stuff did not sound anything like NF in the beginning
smile is one of the sickest songs on the album fs

9 minutes into the video and I can already tell I disagree a lot with this guy as fearless 2 was my favorite project as it showed how Josh grew and became healthier and took control of himself. I’m going to finish the video and see how it ends

@Aperture the question is what are your type 3 Josh A songs in your opinion?
is it just me or am I the only one that like prefers the newer stuff? Like fearless to present I would rather listen to than anything in the past. i don’t really have much issues with his new music but ig I just may not be too hard to please😂. sure there are some songs I tend to skip over but I have that with almost any music I listen to. But his new grim reaper album for lil revive I actually can’t skip a song on it I love all of them. just my 2 cents tho
Cycles is definitely in my top 3 songs of all time
Imo I loved lonely vibes except I think his older stuff was still better
Also I fuckin love California
Fearless 2 was such a huge let down
fr, i want him to be better, and not have to make a video like this
I'm sorry but this video is pointless. you're looking into things way too much. As you said he's released 20 albums in how many years and he's young. a 1 min video saying slow down on quantity and focus on quality is all that is needed. the more time between albums the more unique they will be (if that's what you want).
