When the album was released, I felt that it was a really new album, but after I heard the album more than once, I started to feel repetitive and bored quickly. I thought it would be a wonderful thing because he had not released the album for two years, and he had not hinted or published anything related to the album. Just a percentage in the bio of his account on the x/twitter platform. I don’t know why he doesn’t try to renew and release new things. He has many chances to succeed and be one of the best rappers because he has a wonderful voice and production that was good before. He has many chances to succeed and have a community that loves him. I love Josh, but there is something he always does that will most likely end his career, which is not caring about what people say and their opinions and what they suggest. He just does what he wants, and I am not saying that he should care completely and change everything just to please people, but as long as he is famous, he should care about what they say instead. It has its moments, there are some moments of huge improvement since Josh's last projects, especially in vocals and flow. The lyrics though feel 10x cornier than usual. Josh's lyrics have always been corny, especially in his rap, but its so much worse in this album. He had a lot of potential with this album, I loved the intro track "The Return," never cared for that kind of rap from Josh, because it does just sound like white boy NCS rap, but i feel like he did say a lot of true statements in that track, and hearing those strings as he says "Took a break for way too long, was almost done with rap" was hard af. I do like how he also played with how he rapped in this track, it didn't feel entirely flat the entire time. It definitely still has its corny lines though. I could go on about highs and lows of each track, but i'll just be repeating how Josh's vocal performance is much better than what we've heard before, but the lyrics are not there. The rhymes sound like Josh went to Rhymezone and picked the first word he saw that somewhat fit the context of the line before. I don't really care about the A.I cover, i do feel like Josh could just get an artist, he has the money and time. Or atleast he could've done something like Save Our Souls and just walk outside and take a picture. Overall i feel like Josh is just getting lazy with albums, but i'm hoping that's just because of his lack of interest in music over the past few years. I'm giving Josh a few more albums to make something great, otherwise it's just so tiring and boring to listen to him. Josh is super talented, he can rap fast without mumbling, he can sing really well, he just has to unitize that with something new. I've followed this guy for a large portion of my life, i really love to see him do well, and going back to 2019 he was doing really well. From Fearless, SOS, to Disgrace, he was experimenting somewhat well. I'm hoping he just gets thing's figured out and comes back with a banger. The only other thing is I don't like him using AI for his album covers, it rubs me the wrong way.

However I do would love to get a UPGRADE version just like when he released Lonely Vibes or even YNA. First of all, even if the album was trying out a "new sound" it still isn't good. Just because they "switch it up" (he didn't) it doesn't effect how it can be bad/good. If the music is bad, its bad, and vise versa. Second, Josh has never and probably can't make alternative or indie music lol?? If you actually listen to any alternative or indie music you'll know that Josh's music doesn't come close to this whatsoever, so I'm not too sure where you got this.
Grim Reaper and GP4 wereok as albums but I still feel like they have more cohesion and sound like Josh more than main Josh himself He needs to lean more into the slow melodramatic style like Disgrace and casual feel like Retroland that separated him from other artists and use his vocal skills in choruses Runnin With The Devil, Heart of Darkess and Never Sleep Again are some of his best songs and it's not even on his main :/

I personally did like some of his beat choices and flows and to be honest I LOVE Devil In Disguise it feels like a mix of older styles and newer ones. I just wish Josh would blend his old Disgrace and Fearless style with the new style to have beat variance and a album flow instead of just Lonely Vibes and YNA version 4.0, it's kinda a disappointment for me but not HORRIBLE 6/10

@@scxrdot I think I disagree with u , lonely vibes, lonely vibes dilux and fearless 2 hadnt have a lot of emo rap pop and nf music and lets assume that it s the case isn t that what people want and this is why the whole "we want the old josh a " started I might agree with u this album might have sounds simular to you re not alone and some tracks on fearless 2 but I don t see why ur so bothered with it I dont think its so bad to say it s a disappointement of an album I love the sound and the lyrics of it I will not take that from him just because some parts some beats sound like old songs

First of all, even if the album was trying out a "new sound" it still isn't good. Just because they "switch it up" (he didn't) it doesn't effect how it can be bad/good. If the music is bad, its bad, and vise versa.
Second, Josh has never and probably can't make alternative or indie music lol?? If you actually listen to any alternative or indie music you'll know that Josh's music doesn't come close to this whatsoever, so I'm not too sure where you got this.
josh literally drops better music on lil revive, like what are we doing here at this point, hellraiser and grim peaks 4 were so much better than this

Grim Reaper and GP4 wereok as albums but I still feel like they have more cohesion and sound like Josh more than main Josh himself
He needs to lean more into the slow melodramatic style like Disgrace and casual feel like Retroland that separated him from other artists and use his vocal skills in choruses
Runnin With The Devil, Heart of Darkess and Never Sleep Again are some of his best songs and it's not even on his main :/
@@UnatMar yeah I mean I still go back to listen to blessed often, its just so laid back and real and something that he hasn't really done since, this whole "I'm depressed so I put out bad music and I'm sorry for that and this time I'm coming back better" is just so overdone, like how many times can he say the same thing
Agreed, B2 is my personal favorite album tho, he was great at producing and performing on cloud rap.
I personally did like some of his beat choices and flows and to be honest I LOVE Devil In Disguise it feels like a mix of older styles and newer ones. I just wish Josh would blend his old Disgrace and Fearless style with the new style to have beat variance and a album flow instead of just Lonely Vibes and YNA version 4.0, it's kinda a disappointment for me but not HORRIBLE 6/10

The majority of die hard fans are annoying, and they most definitely can't produce music as good as Josh can. And now they're complaining that his songs are crappy, overdone, and dull. pretty solid review. i agree with a lot of what you said, however i personally feel like the album is even worse than a 4/10. the music is so uninspired, and as you said, its pretty much everything we heard in yka and fearless 2. i dont really understand why josh waited 2 years to drop this. i thought he would spend those 2 years experimenting and trying something new, but instead he just drops the same stuff people complained about in fearless 2. and my gosh, i cant get over how bad his lyrics are now. i thought the lyrics couldnt get any worse than warfare, but man this is close. i really hope he does use this reaction to actually do something else. i want him to experiment and be his own style of music, rather than sounding like a wannabe NF. thats all for my rant lol nice video!
