I love it when a song pops into your head, you think "I'll bet there's a how-to video of this".... ...and Justin's done one! Always clear, concise and fun. Thanks mate!
Justin, your lessons are top notch. I know you spend a lot of time listening to the original music to get the chord sequence and the playing details, what a fantastic ear. Keep up the good work, I am a devoted fan and student of your music lessons. You nailed the details of this song and made the lesson easy enough to pick up all the little nuances that makes playing this song very satisfying. From across the Atlantic, keep up the good work and may you and your family have a blessed Christmas.
You're so fun Justin, all your videos, it makes me happy, all of them, I'm similarly charmingly light-hearted. And yet you totally stay focussed and on task, great way to learn, light hearted AND effective
Just found this video and I gatta say, I really love how you taught this! Really optimal for ear and visual learners like myself! Very easy to understand! Nice guitar by the way! Thanks! 😊
Can't thank you enough for every single one of your tutorials. I have been playing guitar for 7 months and you've dramatically helped my transitions and finger picking. Thank you so much for taking time to create these. =)
Super good kind of really discovered the song today. Kind of a cool story they were saying on NPR about how their little girl her first two words were sad and happy because she would sing along to this song and she could say those two words. Thought that was cute. Justin now I love you this is great I love it great instruction great song
I learned this song a long time ago. For some reason during the main riff, I do pull-offs at G2 & D2. I don’t remember when I started doing that because I’m sure I didn’t learn it that way but it actually sounds pretty cool.
one, two, three and four and one , two, three and four and....very helpful to capture the correct rhythm of this great folksy-bluesy SC tune. Well done mate!
I've been using Justin's website for 3 years now and both his technique and song lessons are great. However, I sometimes question how he rates the difficulty level of some of the songs. I certainly wouldn't say this song is difficult, but it isn't an "easy beginner song" either.😊
Thank you for everything Justin. You made me love playing again when I was drowning in domestic chaos. Just wanted to put in a request if you could do a tut for Clapton's Signe. Nobody does it like you
I just came across this vid from ug. For the first time after years of trying, somebody who explains things in a way I easily understand, and moves at a pace that keeps your interest. Excellent. I've seen so many vids that just go over and over the same thing, with lots of ums and arrs to boot. Keep up the good work, I look forward to many more of your vids.
Selena is awesome, and I know I saw this on every video she appears on, but please consider covering the entire song at the start. I love the intro, just want it to last longer.
Justin youre the best teacher, please please do a tutorial on "soak up the sun" by Sheryl Crow....all the other ones out there are hard and I've been trying for a year to learn this song
Just recently seen this video and I liked it... I was hoping at the near end of this video that you will bring back Selina to sing along with you the whole song but sadly she did not😢 but anyway I enjoyed the tutorial. Just send my love to her... I like her...singing...
Great tutorial. The strum is quite tricky for the first ten minutes or so, but going back and looking at the furst part of the video oa few times really helped. Many thanks for the video. Lovely one to try out on my new 335 :D
Nice cover. Great lesson! A two for one deal!! It really is a fun song to strum. Thanks for the awesome tutorial Justin. : ) UPDATE: After playing this for two days, I must say this one is a great laid back acoustic strummer. Just what I need for my habit of "rushing". I play along to her music video. It's like jamming with Cheryl. Lol. Excellent choice Justin, and it sounds exactly like the song in her video when played as you show.
Justin I would love for you to do a video lead guitar part for this song I've watched a few live performances on YT but it's hard to catch what the lead guitar is doing except for the Keith Richards type chords please do a video for the lead guitar fills and alternate lead chords thanks and great lesson
i would love to see you and Salena just do some covers? this song and Fast Car come to mind? i know its not what you do on your channel but think it would be amazing :D keep up the great lessons!!!
Started playing 5-6 weeks ago, haven't done much song work, mostly chords and exercises. Although I love this song, it took 1-2 hours of slowing this video down and replaying a few sequences 20-30 times just so I can understand the first TWO BARS for the riff. Just that part, and I can't play it properly yet, still somewhat broken and a bit off. Damn.
I brought your 2nd series song book, and I have to say it's my favourite so far. loads of great songs in there, and paticularly love this song. Thanks for all the time and patience you take, to show us how to play such great songs. keep up the great work and thank you again. 😉
Please could you do "in need" by sheryl crow? Can't find it anywhere and it really makes me mad! I would be soooo glad if i could learn how to play it!!!
Your doing a great public service Justin,Thank You !
