  • It's becoming harder for RV travelers to find free or inexpensive place to stay overnight when traveling between destinations. Many of the large retailers like Cracker Barrel, Walmart have new limits on parking overnight.
Truck stops and rest areas are an option, however, these spots are highly desired by the truckers who need their sleep, they can be noisy and there is a better than average of getting damage to your RV there.
Enter Loves Truck Stops. Loves has been adding dedicated parking areas for RV's that are separate from the truck area. They have electric and water and there usually is a dump station available too. These are a great convenience, close to the freeways, electric to run your AC on hot summer nights, spacious and well lit.
In this video, we stopped at one and were more than pleased with the stay. The only regret is that there are not more of these located throughout the country.

Thanks for this. We didn't know how it worked. Now we do. And it looks a lot better than we thought.

Stayed at one in Cotulla, TX. Not impressed. They had 2 sites right next to the entrance to Love's. Noise, lights and diesel fumes all night. $40+, way too much.

They just open one up in Normal IL. Looks like there is about 20 hook ups.
