I'm almost glad I haven't met him in person. No stupid little words I could muster would come close to encapsulating how I feel about his music. I would end up just looking stupid.
His religion has everything to do with it. Part of what gives his work so much weight is his ever-apparent conflict with god and the darker parts of himself.
Rip my heart out Bazan
I was just at the house show in Eugene, Oregon.
He's incredible in person.
Never fails to make me cry, this is the most beautiful version of this song!

I'm almost glad I haven't met him in person. No stupid little words I could muster would come close to encapsulating how I feel about his music. I would end up just looking stupid.
seeing him tonight in ottawa can fucking wait
@skatetolive85 did that. he's amazing.
What this man is saying is.. devastating.
just learned to play this on guitar ... the first song i really learned ... pretty easy .
What's the name of this song?
@skatetolive85 I have.
Eduardo lesen
is Brasil Brasil
Why do I sincerely doubt that? Either you learned it wrong, or it isn't the first song you learned.
No, it isn't. Control is a concept album about a nuclear family that falls apart. Besides, he wrote all these songs before becoming an agnostic.
@skatetolive85 How I wish that when I met him, I'd known his music well enough to truly tell him that.
the song is about him and his divorcement with God.
His religion has everything to do with it. Part of what gives his work so much weight is his ever-apparent conflict with god and the darker parts of himself.
Maybe, but that's unsubstantiated. Who knows, though--maybe David would agree with you.
