  • RE5R05A Transmission on a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder.
    This Transmission belongs to TJ, an R&R technician.
    He was having a slight shudder when the torque converter clutch engaged. So he decided to install a new Dacco Converter and wanting to see in what condition the transmission was internally, so he opened it up and found nothing wrong with it.
    Give him credit, he got nervous being filmed. He's really fast removing and installing transmissions but has no practice assembling one. I think he did good.
    Great video for everyone, I know that on your rebuilds you will also struggle getting some parts assembled.
    I make things look easy...I apologize for that.
    Enjoy and have fun with your rebuilds.

My friend says I am crazy but I see everything as ABC...If some has done it can be learned and with help from video's like yours it helps us dyi guys learn. I very much appreciate you taking time to share. If I were more capable with filming(patience)...editing(patience)...and uploading(patience). I would love to share some of the things I have learned also. Not to make this a job but liking to help others like myself. Not professional but always trying to improve and be self sustaining.

    Gr8 vid what do you think about a tcc intermittent (CEL : P0744) 2001 Maxima with 204k miles I am thinking it's a sticking TCC solonide. as a effort I an doing the multi-drain and refill of ATF and using Lucus addive as well. after the first drain and fill its alot better. it was undriveable before. not its derivable but P0744 comes up every few hundred miles. its been about 1,200 miles since the initial drain and fill, drives about normal to me. going to do 2nd drain and fill. the Fluid is already dark/black again

    Hi Guys, Great video!! You guys do make the process looks so easy. Say, I have a 2008 Infiniti EX35 Journey AWD Crossover vehicle and I believe I have the same tranny as yours. The symptom that I am experiencing now is that the car shudder in reverse gear. I also noticed that the car has lack of power while in reverse as well. All the forward gears is shifts like silk. This symptom is popped up 1 day for me. The car has 108K miles now, but the 1st transmission flushed was done at 60K and now at 108K. Yes, the transmission fluid was flushed at the dealership and I think they said, they used 16 quarts to do the complete job. I had the dealership diagnosed and they came back with the symptom being a bad reverse clutch pack issue. I would like to know your thoughts on my transmission issue.
    Thank you!

    Hi. my car pathfinder 2010 4.0
    when changing gear from P to D or from R to D, there is always a delay of 2-3 seconds when shifting to D. The rest works very well. What can be? Electrovalve?
    I have new, original oil. Could some solenoid valve be responsible for this?
    while driving everything is ok.
    this is most noticeable when it's hot. and when I change from R to Drive.
    thank you for the information

    Hi,
    I have a car servise and repair automatic transmissions. We have one mystery car in our service. This mystery we try to resolve for two years. Car is ok and automatic transmission works all right during summer time. But during winter season it doesn't work. After starting of car everything works well for 30 - 120 minutes. After that time automatic transmission decrease of pressure in system and it burns all clutch packs which were engaged in this moment. This interval when car works well is different. Until it decreases of pressure everything completly works normal. After this control unit shows mistakes faulty gear-ratio and faulty gear speed on which it happened. We changed for new one: mechatronic, control unit, oil pumpe, all clutch packs, torque converter, case of automatic transmission, accelerator padel, output speed senzor of automatic transmission. This automatic transmission is RE5R05A. Do you have any idea where is problem?
    Thank you,
    Rasto

    greetings from Canada! Hiram Gutierrez do you know if the transmissions RE5R05A can be interchanged?I have a 2005 nissan pathfinder and I would like to see if I can put a 2006 infiniti g35 coupe it seems to be the same RE5R05A ,because pathfinder transmissions are hard to find and really expensive over here, thanks

    • @SuperRicolinox
      @SuperRicolinox 7 лет назад +1

      Justin Time,RE5R05A seem to be different from years and manufactures,I rebuilt mine and the clutch kit i used came with different extra parts,I had left 3 extra friction clutches and bunch of seals,and I think the tcm also have different settings,so far I only found out xterra,frontier and pathfinder are compatible

    • @SuperRicolinox
      @SuperRicolinox 7 лет назад

      Justin Time,I had to read a lot and watch some videos but other than one solenoid I need to replace everything is working well,luckily my transmission didn't get coolant damaged,instead someone bypassed the radiator and something plugged the oil cooler the transmission overheated and melted all the seals,That's why I got a good price in the truck and I was able to reuse almost everything from the transmission even the tcm

    Just bought a Infiniti G35 with this same transmission but didnt know it had the trans problem (auction car), my problem is the transmissions keeps going into fail safe (atleast I think thats whats happening) and going into 3rd gear (holds power fine in all gears that work 1-4th and reverse) so when taking off it will go though 1-4th gear then once it goes to hit fifth it down shifts on its own to 3rd gear. car is a rocket ship as far as that goes, no slipping in any working gears. when trying to switch to 5th gear, I believe whatever clutches that control 5th gear are shot, fluid is burned. Has anyone seen this issue before? Also my tiptronic doesnt work so I cant manually select 5th to see what happens. The car gives no lights indicating a problem and has no generic obd2 codes stored (not sure if id have to connect to the tcm with some special software and adapter) id like to pull the trans and fix that one problem if possible (im aware is probably has more but I just need to bandaid it for now, I love the car otherwise so I want to keep it and eventually put a trans in it but its my daily drivers so ive got to do something otherwise running the engine at 4rpm just to do 60mph in 3rd gear for half an hour to town wont keep that engine alive too long)

    • @DillonTurner395
      @DillonTurner395 9 лет назад

      Dillon Turner Update: my manual mode is working (sometimes I have to restart the car a couple times for it to work) and now when I manually select 5th, I get the same thing, feels like third and holds power. Another youtuber posted a video of the same issue but hasnt been on youtube for a year and has responded in a couple days so doubt ill get an awnser of what finally happen with his trans.

    The load rings are set like pistons rings. There is a shifted focus Hydraulic lock. If it were a magnetic set the valve body would not be necessary. And boy you could truly fix with a hammer. Thus it has only one moving part and a resetable clutchset of much stronger iron alloy that acts as it is it's own bearing as well. Think a wankel of a transmission
