I just got a vintage 2 -d- energizer hard case flashlight and I'm amazed by the build quality of the reflector and the spot it throws out with an ordinary krypton bulb . Eventually I'm sure I'll switch it over to led .
Daya Callan I have no doubt it will serve you well and would take a beating. The LED upgrade will put out more light for sure. You guys stay safe out there, from me and the rest of the UK
I HAD ONE YEARS AGO AND IT BROKE. SO I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE, BUT MINE HAS ONE HUGE BATTERY NOT ALL THOSE SMALL ONES YOU HAVE. I HAD SHOCKING TROUBLE UNSCREWING THE TOP. IM OLD AND MY STRENGTH ISNT WHAT IT ONCE WAS. I DIDNT THINK I WAS EVER GOING TO GET THE TOP OFF IT BUT I FINALLY DID THEN I HAD TO FIGURE OUT HOW AND WHICH WAY EVERYTHING WENT. I GOT SOME IDEAS FROM YOUR VIDEO THANKS. SUCH A FIDDLY DAMN TORCH THOUGH.
I do like this torch/flashlight still, it does show its age now compared to others on the market. Unscrewing the lens head is stiff and you're right the battery compartment/holder is a pain! I've looked at the nitecore range (but that's Chinese I believe) 2m submerged and 1.5m drop height. The newer cree flashlights are easy to handle, much much much brighter and some a rechargeable but it all comes at a price........
Great video, well done! Can i ask where did you get the battery pack that allows you to change out the D cell batteries from? I like that idea much better that having to pay extra for a 6V lantern battery that has 4 D cell batteries in them anyway lol.
Thanks for video and I appreciate the way you did it. Can you buy those bulbs at lowes or Home Depot? Can’t find on amazon - found out I needed it this am when the power went out. Thanks again! Have a beautiful day!
Krypton is superior to any LED in my opinion. LED are just awful on the eyes and very unhealthy to use as a light source. I would swap out that LED and put the Krypton back

omg. thank you. I couldn't figure out where the batteries were located.lol
I used to have one like that years ago, it had the standard bulb with it.
some one borrowed it from me never got it back. it was a good 6volt light.
Thank you! We are using this lantern for Hurricane Irma.

I do need to do a range test on it. Just to show it's capabilities

Mine came with it, with it now being so old suspect the only place will be selling sites if you can get them at all
@@andrewhollis6665 Thank you, much appreciate your quick reply!
Where do you buy the non polarity led bulbs? All of the ones I'm finding are centre positive.
It says in the video the torch site 👍

Jamie Huffman - sorry but I bought mine in the UK but I'm sure there will be a version in the USA
anybody knows if the lightbulb replacement is sold anywhere in the USA?

This is like being back in 3rd grade
mickeysl350 being English, you'll have to explain. :)
Sorry, but I don't understand why you don't speak? A running commentary would be good here...
Sorry about that but I believed a basic yet simple tutorial would be sufficient. Thanks for watching
@@andrewhollis6665 it was sufficient :)
