I really don't know why DGPT keeps pushing live when they struggle with the tech to make it happen properly. Worst thing for me as a disc golf fan is to anticipate a drive or shot, and watch the screen go 240 in the middle of the flight. Worst way to watch disc golf. All the while, there's clear, high-quality post-produced. Missing half a card's shots is also not ideal to say the least...and then paying to watch commercials (never)
@@joemam12 their answer tends to be that it will improve if more people subscribe. That's not how things work. You need to show your service is worth subscribing to first. Why would I pay costs comparable to other streaming services I use that work great for this quality of stream? Subscribers are paying money to them to beta test this at this point. I'd subscribe to a service that didn't look like I was watching pixels.
Live is wack. I can't stand the jumps back and forth to different holes and cards. There's no rhythm or flow to the broadcasting. Reminds me of watching the tour de France where they'll showcase the people that arnt even close to being the winner and that just isn't interesting.
1:17:42 elder brother Tyler :), I remember the two of them playing for team USA at World Team DGC in Estonia back in August 2019. Little boys at that time.
It can't be easy to film all of this live but I think it would be ideal if they could get the pixelation fixed and to where they're following the leaders of the tournament more so than how they mainly are just following one featured card (that happened to not really be in as much contention, near the top of the leaderboard). Somewhat more like a PGA event for example
It's cool to see young talent like Ahrens, but when he is trailing the leader by like 15 or more, with the back 9 to go, can't they put the cameras on some of the other cards where people are more in contention for the lead ?
They do a great job nonetheless and if it weren't for the pixelation issues, where you can't see the disc flying at times and such, it would be a lot better
I don't remember but they did mentioned it twice during the round, that I can remember. One of the times Nate said it was on the hole where there was a whole bunch of them in the rough, earlier in the round

Course over quality!!! Looks like a great place to play. My opinion might be biased because my internet only let's me watch on 480 most of the time lol
I watched almost all of the first round!! You can almost tell they’re playing disc golf!! Really cool that they are trying to sell this coverage 🤣🤣. It’s like a defective Amazon product you try to return but they say “it’s just fine, you’re doing it wrong”. Smh 🤦♂️
The amount of time the cameras spent on the players was awful. People would throw bad shots and you would be up in their faces with the cameras for about 10 seconds.
Thank you for your great commentary gentlemen. But there is no excuse for such bad video coverage. FPO round had horrible quality moments. We live in 21st century. At least I don't pay for subscription. And this is one of the reasons, don't know what to expect. Since 1st round is free and there is monopoly on broadcast, I feel bad for paying customers. Hope you will fix all the problems, from today on. Love to watch live competition, you know you can do much better.
Would love to watch more live but this quality is tough to watch. It’s almost never actually 1080p

you can seriously get better quality live streaming from a phone.
They need to tell the camera men to not drop the shot to the ground. Just keep the shot. Not great quality

Love watching the disc golf athletes ! And players.
Why is there no shot by shot coverage?

What I'm wondering is, are they able to start filming a little sooner in the round and then getting a camera on the guys who are shooting well?

I’m watching this post
Why is there 11 plus minutes before the coverage?
And if this is live coverage why do they only cover the two top cards ?
What are the low bushes with yellow flowers/leaves?

Nlnmooo.
Great commentary!
Day 15463 of asking dgn to sync the commentary with the video. So dumb when someone makes a putt and the reaction comes 3 seconds later
Swear
Why don't they have a camera on Miranda or Nikko? Would be nice to see some of their shots as they climb the leaderboard
looks like 480p cmonBruh

Ian, you gotta pick one, its either "ant"illa or "ont"illa. Cant be both!
It's actually Nickel-less Ant hilla duh
Honestly though, I think they pronounce it Ontilla and then Ian is saying his first name correct during the whole round "Neek-loss"
Hammes takes just as long as Nikko to putt. But he’s a pretty boy so nobody cries about it.
Nikko lovers 🤣
Recording someone's phone screen over their shoulder is RUDE.
