      She was the most beautiful aircraft in history. 747 is also majestic, but not quite the beauty of Concorde.

      Yes. In 2001 we had the twin towers and concorde. Now we have neither. All thanks to America. Think about it. All deliberate.

      Why backwards? It's all about efficiency.. they won't keep something around if it's no efficient enough. Planes nowadays are more sophisticated and more technology advanced....

    I feel so incredibly lucky to have seen her fly just once before she was grounded for good, even as a very young lad the memory is as vivid as ever almost 20 years later

    I was there, to your right - our view was obstructed by that bl**dy lorry! Have a VHS video of it somewhere. RIP Concorde :(

    The Air and Space museum in Chantilly VA has one of these. You can view it from an upper level and walk around underneath it. They also have an SR-71 Blackbird, and the shuttle Discovery.

    Actually it's the first time I see as night takeoff departure of the Concorde. Love it was done with a cheap phone video coz this thing passing by with full afterburners is the closing thing to Star War stuff and the Millenium Falcon I have ever seen. And I am not a Star War fan.

      It was done with a first generation digital camera so it’s a bit grainy. Canon IXUS if I remember rightly. No iPhones back then.

    I used to whatch concord take off from the parking rooftops from Kennedy. Let me tell you, the ground shook. For a long time

      Those 4 RR Olympus Engines , were also fitted to our Vulcan Nuke Bomber's, so massive power, plus after-burner's

      What still anoys me, is remarks about how loud she was. What about the Military air fields, all over the world, millions of people have to adjust to it. At least Concorde had a schedule, which you could prepare for, NOT THE MILITARY.

    Before I ever saw Concorde for the first time at Manchester a guy once told me that it makes your balls rattle and I can confirm it's true , mind you i was very close .
    My girlfriend at the time also remarked that her's did too . 😁

    Some say it was Ahead of its time, I think it was just Right though just too costly and gas gusseling for its time and maybe too dangerous as one of the reasons it was retired. However there WILL be another Super Sonic airliner soon

      The passenger's paid for the fuel. The rich never complained. Concorde was in regular service for 30 years, no civil airliner had a comparable safety srecord. Concorde was NOT reponsible for that single crash, it was other peoples carelessness.

    The Concorde wasn't the loudest plane. I saw the launch in Zurich (see my video of the last Concorde-flight from Switzerland). At the same airport I witnessed the takeoff of an old four-engine Tupolev; the ground vibrated, the sound was infernal!
