    It's not very often I find a Revit tutorial that can teach me something new but this video is the exception! A very clever solution for 3D SSMR seams! Thank you!

    YES!!! Finally a clear and direct tutorial for something most of us have been struggling with. These are the type of tips I expect from The Revit Kid.

    Amazing and so simple, thank you. Let's hope Revit comes up with an actual metal roof profile in the future.

    Just found something really useful as well for snapping the ribs together when you go in to edit the offset, if you set the same justification alignment for all the grid faces, they should line up, esp. if they are set to centered!

    That is a very intelligent solution for creating metal roof ribs... I suppose that if the cross-sectional profile is changed, that it could possibly create a barrel tile effect. Thank you.

    Would I repeat the same process for Ridge Capping or is there another method of doing that?

    Any ideas on how to curve the mullions over a barrel vault? The grid itself matches the vault, but the mullions are generated in one horizontal plane!
    Figured it out: Turn both grid 1 and grid 2 on, but only set a mullion shape for the grid you want to display. That "locks" the mullions to the curved face.

    Good tutorial. I do not have any mullion profiles in the drop down menus, and I can't seem to load any - I am a bit of a newb. Any help appreciated
    Got it. For anyone else who had the same problem - create a new curtain wall in new project and place some mullions on it. Then copy and paste into the 'real' project. Viola, mullion profiles appear in the drop down menu.

      Enda, you most likely purged the mullions out. Start a new project with the Architectural template. Find the mullions in the family browser. Copy and past them into your project from the browser.

    Does your roof already have to be in the sloped glazing before copying it?

    ok im having a problem with this in revit 2016, in 2013 it was fine but in 2016 when i copy then paste then select glazing it says slab thickness is error and it becomes flat and orange meaning i have to either reset shape or delete it, why doesnt it copy over it like yours did

    • @jeffreya.pinheiroaia1746
      @jeffreya.pinheiroaia1746 9 лет назад

      DjShadowsound265 sounds like you made your roof by modifying its sub-components instead of using the slopes... is that true?

    • @DjShadowsound265
      @DjShadowsound265 9 лет назад

      I chose the rood tool, drew it on level 2 as a plan then added a split line, then i selected the split line and gave it an elevation of 15' creating a gable roof. Then when i did all the copy paste etc etc , it didnt work ???

    • @jeffreya.pinheiroaia1746
      @jeffreya.pinheiroaia1746 9 лет назад

      DjShadowsound265 Yeah... do not use the split line tool... Select the edge of the roof when in sketch mode (magenta lines) and check off the box that says "Defines Slope" and then give it a slope....

  • @DjShadowsound265
    @DjShadowsound265 9 лет назад

    just checked again it says slab shape edit failed and becomes flat

    the problem with these type of tutorial videos, is that they are not acurate when it comes to detail drawings.
