Bought a 2020 Rav4 last week, I am still getting used to the power.. I've moved from a 1.6 L car to a 2.0 L Mid-spec SUV.. Mine came from Japan ( I'm from the Caribbean ) and I don't have the engine noise issue. I chose it above a Tiguan, and TDI Turbo 1.4 L is too underpowered, VWs have no resale value and I hear they begin to give trouble by year #3... I had a transmission breakdown with a Nissan, I'd prefer to not break down ever again.

The dealer only deleted the PC history, did nothing to fix the problem, and does not supply the needed paperwork to prove I was there. This practice is still going on today. The service tech brags, "as long as I work here, no one will ever qualify for Lemon Law protection " Problems got MUCH worse. In for repair 10 + times, towed in 4 times. After contacting Subaru customers support, they said because the dealer refused to supply paperwork for your visits, they refused to refund my money for the Lemon they sold me. Car was traded in, because it would not work, still under warranty, still not fixed because they didn't know how to fix it. Lost well over $14,000 because Subaru does not stand behind their cars, or the customer.
If you never had it, likely won't miss it. But I had Captain chair armrest for my old van as well as my old Tahoe. It was nice.... Should be an option.

@@sashellpottorff459 I honestly don't know about new ones. CVT in general has a reputation of not living as long as conventional transmissions. Once one of these CVTs goes out, they are ridiculously expensive to replace (in some cases over 6k). The driving dynamic is also totally different. The small size SUV I have has a good engine in it, but the CVT makes it feel underpowered because the engine runs at different rpm than the normal driver is use to.

tekz I'd avoid the 8 SPD rav4's , lots of people have been complaining about transmission issues that also plague the new Camry as well (Primarily hesitation and rough shifting). Until Toyota addresses these issues the hybrid is the way to go. The Hybrid has an eCVT which differs from a standard CVT like the CR-V. The belt and pulleys are replaced with planetary gears and electronic motors so it should do better long term the gasoline models. It's a bit more expensive but worth the extra money
The truth, months ago I decided on a Mazda which I’m pleased with due to the conventional 6-speed tranny it has and not the dreaded CVT or eCVT or iVT that Kia claims....
I am 6’1” and have chronic back issues. Out of the four you reviewed, what would your recommendation be for those both tall and back issues for comfort?
Hi. My wife and I both have Mazda’s. She has the cx5. I have the Mazda 3. Both are very comfortable for me and I’m 6 ft. For back problems I’d look for lumber controls and heated seats. Mazda does offer these options. Not sure about others. But when I have a bad back day, I can work in physical therapy, I use that heated seat and it actually reaches my lumbar area. Some heated seats may not heat above the actual buttocks area. Just check out different cars in your area. Hopefully you’ll find something comfortable for you.

I own the hybrid forester model at the moment, I love it especially for snow days, deep snow driving and sundays offroading! I guess the 150hp+17hp hybrid version is a little cooler than the 182hp american one to be honest! It's a little heavier in europe due to its hybridation, but when driving in town, the hybrid 0-40kmh start is actually pretty cool even though I use to be a 100% petrolhead! Hybridation is very small on that SUV though. It's incredible to drive on snow or offroad anyway! I use to do offroading with real 4wd, and I can do most of the stuff I use to do with that forester, and that is impressive from a family AWD! The CVT is way better than what I thought it would be first. I was one skeptical CVT hater, but finally it's not that bad although I'd prefer to have a manual (I know it's not really possible with hybridation though).
Narrowing my choice down to the RAV4. I like the CRV but not a fan of low displacement engines with turbo and CVTs. So glad Toyota stuck with a standard 8-speed automatic transmission. Should last quite awhile.

Guess you missed the part at the end where I said you should watch the full review videos to see the faults. This is a best of video which is why I only mentioned the good.
The Tiguan looks absolutely tearable in any trim below the $50k R line. It pisses me off when companies make the lower trim levels look tearable to sell the higher trims.
That was just an awful review. Totally inconsistent with every other review I’ve seen. Some consistent reviews state the following: VW the slowest/ least reliable, Forester the noisiest and clumsy handling. RAV4 the loudest/Meh and the CRV large but like a toaster on wheels/boring. All the CVT in this group are loud and obnoxious.
Agree, CRV with its basic boring seats and front . I tried ordering the highest level of CRV package but it was still boring , cheap looking , virtually non existent good options available .
I'm surprised how much these guys like the look of the VW Tiguan. I like the interior, but the exterior is not that great - def not the best in this class.
I am considering the Mazda CX-5 for my next car. Not a fan of Toyota, so that's out. Honda CR-V seems like a car everyone has, I would never find my car in a mall parking lot, lol.
Besides the commonality, the Honda CR-V is having FREQUENT oil dilution issues with the 1.5 liter turbo engine. Aside from the large cargo space, I would not go with the CR-V (at least with the 1.5 which is standard above a certain trim level) for that reason. This issue has brought Honda from #4 to #12 in terms of reliability on Consumer Reports’ rankings.
I have a 2019 CX5... it blows all those cars away. It's luxurious and drives like a sedan. Awesome vehicle. My daughter has the 2019 RAV 4 but she loves the CX5 more. The Mazda feels and looks luxurious inside and it's quiet. The RAV 4 looks plain inside and the engine growls. Just because it sells more doesn't mean it's better. Having said that, I think Toyota will eventually buy Mazda... it can't survive much longer on its own in this type of competitive market environment.
Was there no critical judgement on any of these? I mean I should just pull a car name out of a hat according to these "reviews"?? Should we call it that??

Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, even fricking Chevrolet with the 2021 Trailblazer are leaving you in the past.
Also, offer some different wheel options, jeez.
Sincerely,
About to lose a customer.
NoPreset SnarkLimit I agree with you. Subaru lacks behind the competition as far as tech and value. AWD is great, but the competition offers so much more. One thing I love about subaru is that they're very safe vehicles.
All are pretty amazing. Love the CRV tho.
I'm planning to purchase a new SUV later this year, but I'm really having a hard time picking between a 2020 Subaru Forester, a 2020 Toyota RAV4, or a 2020 Ford Escape.
The Jayverse if you need all wheel drive, get forester, if you don’t need all wheel drive, get rav4. Forget about escape.
Never never never never never never never never never buy a Ford
I like the jeep compass.
It will break down by the time you drive out of the dealership
Hate the stop and go engine
Everything is amazing and great? Come on man, give some criticism and provide some critical thinking. This feels like an ad for all models. Sleepy as hell
Guess you missed the part at the end where I said you should watch the full review videos to see the faults. This is a best of video which is why I only mentioned the good.
Yep the full review videos tell you all the good and bad. This vid is just a summary.
I tried ordering the highest level of CRV package but it was still boring , cheap looking , virtually non existent good options available .
honda crv the best out of all of them
So tell us your best pick
Toyota RAV4
sounds to me like you got a kick back from all
Good comparisons.
Toyota RAV 4 looks like from a STAR TRECK movie. Not easy on eyes.
I'm surprised how much these guys like the look of the VW Tiguan. I like the interior, but the exterior is not that great - def not the best in this class.
xc 40 what happen
I am considering the Mazda CX-5 for my next car. Not a fan of Toyota, so that's out. Honda CR-V seems like a car everyone has, I would never find my car in a mall parking lot, lol.
Raj Dewan Get the 2021 RAV4 PRIME!
I'm george we all are george. That voice is so unique 😍
Porsche Macan?
Isn't the Tiguan VW really a dodge vehicle? sure looks like it! Actually FIAT...
Make a video about the best 3 row suv with best features for the buck!!!

Was there no critical judgement on any of these? I mean I should just pull a car name out of a hat according to these "reviews"?? Should we call it that??
These are highlights. I have full review videos of each one for your viewing pleasure.
Something about his voice was bothering me but I found the solution! Just increase speed in youtube to 1.25x speed and the voice gets better/more smooth flowing - love video speed control in youtube :) Total side note but if you ever get annoyed by the long drawl of southerners in youtube videos - bump up speed to 1.25 or even 1.5 and it will sound totally normal to us 'northerners'
The one I like least is the Rav4
Excellent review ! I'm looking at getting a new SUV soon but none of these really impress me that much.
Thanks, if these dont impress you then you might want to step up to midsize suvs.
Try a X3 or Q5 😅

I’m in the market for a new compact SUV, so I appreciate your reviews. I’m very intrigued by the upcoming Toyota RAV4 Prime edition.
Thanks! Yes me too, can't wait until its out later this year. Here is a first look video I created: ruclips.net/video/j792TnMODFE/видео.html
I bought my wife a 2012 Toyota Rav4 and know my daughter is the new owner. Last month l replace my wife with a Toyota 2020 Rav4 Premium and we love than both. Out standing vehicles.
