Imagine an IRL mustang pilot getting buzzed by a curious 262 while trying to land. Definitely would find its way to the history channel. "to this day, i still don't know why he didn't shoot me down. I always wanted to meet that pilot."
It was historically the other way round. Allied pilots had specific detachments to go down and beat the living shit out of german jets.
@@IowanLawman this was an American pilot recorded what he said. Get a grip the me 262 was too fast in that situation to kill a Mustang as recorded by American pilots.
those 30mm turn aircraft into confetti. great demo of the 262's potential when used skillfully.
I really enjoy flying the 262 a lot. I like the challenge of attacking fighters in it. if you fly it right your fairly untouchable, but it punishes mistakes hard

That P-38 Lightning kill was absolutely brutal. The front view of it and DerSheriff flying up from behind in the menacing 262 actually gave me goosebumps. Great marksmanship, Baron.

2:12, from the side that looks like a really high angle of attack. Does the 262 require a particularly high A.O.A. for take off and landing?
It looks like he didn't use any flaps to increase lift. Historically speaking the Schwalbe has low acceleration and with wings designed to create lift at high speeds that means little lift at low speeds. So yes when not using flaps the the plane is likely to require a high AOA when taking off.

A high AOA during take off and landing is a characteristic of all swept wing aircraft.
I have to say, that was a beautiful landing.

Anyone please, I have a 262 question. Every time I trying flying the 262 I get a "Right Engine Failure" / "Left Engine Failure". Not matter what I do, fuel system mod, slowing make throttle changes, nothing seems to work. I can never seem to get the engines to remain "on". Any suggestions would be helpful... Thank you in advance.

You probaly fly too slow our your throttle is too low. You have to fly the 262 beyond 8000 RPM.

To my knowledge there didn't really. They sometimes took off from highways but mostly from large airstrips.

I am not familiar with that particular field. But I imagine it was not a simple grassfield. It was probably large and was sufficiently maintained.

disappointed you did not rotate your plane 6 degrees right before starting the video. :) You made up for it when you absolutely shredded that first P-38. Armament on the 262 is devastating.

Don't you mean v-sync? I have a solid 60fps and never get any screen tearing.

Does Il2 model negative G's? I never thought about it before but nosing down that fast at that speed would probably cause some red out... probably a ME-262 and Tempest issue only though... Im pretty new to il2 so forgive me ignorance lol
sure it does model it, and it affects all aircraft. More or less. But even rolling the aircraft upside down for a few seconds has an effect on vision.
The disadvantage of 30 mm shells is there heavy and and you need to pull a lot of lead to hit your target, but it doesn’t take a whole lot of them to hit in order to bring down an aircraft. If you ever seen a 30 mm shell hit an airframe you know what I mean. It’s devastating. It’ll scare the shit out of you.

In this video I havent used reshade. I started reshade just recently and I am still testing things.
Why did the plane spawn in wild and not on the concrete? I didn’t think those old jet engines liked vegetables.
Yoo, pleas help me, i cant control the 262 on the ground, it just go straight forward, the nosewheel dose not turn right or left, what do i do wrong??
You probably figured this out already but the nose wheel of the 262 is a castor wheel, you need to steer it on the ground with the left and right wheel brakes.

Do you like the 262 now? A few days ago you said it was boring. Maybe that was because you had just been shot down in one :-)
While it was surely not nice to be shot down, I was saying that during this sortie and the sortie i was shot down in (edit in the voice coms). And i meant it. I find flying it just boring. The entire sortie consists of running away. I was getting tired of all the running as i was shot down.
Same goes btw for chasing the 262. Super boring. I havent shot down one so far, since i dont bother.
@PaNth3R I enjoy hit and run tactics. I mean I use mainly hit and run. I like stalking, beein unseen. But in the 262 its just that. If you are seen you play the running game.

Definitely not a fan of the jet. How many jets are the limit on this server? It feels like more than realistic.
I believe two. But the germans get more 262s´if they manage to protect the train with the jet fuel. I like that system. I dont like flying the jet that much. I like the "gritty" feel of a prop more.
