A lot of weird threat assessment this game.
This is what happens when an actual biological female drops into a pod. Nerds malfunction for some reason and go into SIMP mode and try to play to impress instead of playing to win.
They did poor Cam dirty on this one.
Ganging up on Cam was so wrong on this game. Bowmaster was just shooting randomly.
I hate people getting so scared of the one ring in cams board. Theres a rhystic in board and hes under a ton of stax. Save that interaction geez. There has been way to many times people spending all their shit on a ring and then giving enough cards to someones else fish etc to combo without anyone interacting. Edit: Oof delaying one ring to have no interaction to atraxa in the next turn is fire. One card vs 4.
Anna was setting up a Time Sieve win so not wanting TOR to come down is totally fine. That said, it‘s also a huge tell what the plan is and Nate should probably have caught that the first time around.

As long as nobody is pubstomping casuals it's fine if I visit and I see cEDH in casual pods in my presence it will be known real quick I don't tolerate pubstompers.

Im kinda confused with Nate's gameplay here, like maybe I dont just understand what he was thinking but I feel like cam was the only player in the game who never really had a draw engine in play for very long and still got targeted hard for trying to play one where as the turn one remora, tailion, and study player was just popping off scott free? maybe im wrong idk
Killing the Ranger Captain instead of Talion was a head scratcher. There were definitely enough triggers to hit it 4 times that turn
I really love this channel, and I know they kind of help and "go easy" with guests (although who messed up was also a guest...)
There's an argument that leaving Talion isn't that bad as it fuels your bowmasters but once rhystic is on the board as well it's too much value and you will get triggers from the rhystic anyway.
@@worms35that argument is for people that don’t know magic. Drawing cards wins games not pinging for 1 damage
@@koreyg8552 I mean, I guess the point for that turn was that Cam was trying to put down a Grand Abolisher (which was countered but returned to hand), so he might go next turn, thus requiring to remove the RangerCaptain to lock him out of next turn.
However, yeah, later on, Talion needed to move asap.

Pretty poor threat assessment from Nate, even before rhystic came down it was clear Anna was the threat and her not wanting ring to resolve is a huge tell for time sieve in hand
even so, she could have just delayed atraxa, gone for sieve, killed the other two, give cam 1 turn, counter everything he does, and badda bing badda boom
This is the second game I've watched recently where Nate just completely throws the game with terrible threat assessment. Just about a month ago he spent his only removal on Yuriko while Cam had The One Ring and Minamo on board.

He's like "I got 5 permanents on the board I need to remove in mono W in order to win" and the table just crushes him anyway lmfao
Maybe not shooting Tallion with a million Bowmaster triggers was not the play.

Tbh, I feel like cam was really over targeted most this game.
I love this channel but this game was hard to watch, it definitely felt like the two tivit players were protecting each other and overly focused on getting cam out of the game. I hope that there aren’t more games like this. The threat assessment and the inaction from the players really took it out of me this episode.
Not sure how you don’t try to shoot down Talion with the bowmaster. Maybe a case of being nice to the guest

I feel like its worst offense is that it punches down incredibly hard on weaker decks in the format, and is even pretty indiscriminate in how it does so. Sure, the dude trying to make his selesnya jank deck work isn't doing too much rn, but i have 1 damage to point and he has a llanowar elves so....
This game play was a bit weak. Perfect example of someone giving the game to someone else

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: Casting Atraxa with no lands
i love that Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle can combo into infinite mana using Sol Ring, but players started to run Trinisphere, which i was able to deal with because white has a lot of different "destroy target Artifact/Enchantment" spells. But i stopped playing him mostly because all his "i win" combo's require him to cast spells and you need your graveyard. i can't believe i have mono black decks that don't require the graveyard as much as Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle does.
To me, the turn 1 play dylan did to mana vault into phyxrian metamorph to copy the vault look like a bad play. I would have either copied the mox opal for the consistent mana or held the og mana vault untap, the phyrexian metamorph for later target.
Mox opal is legendary and also needs 3 artifacts in play to have metalcraft turned on

I agree, tivit is insane and it can play all the board wipes and creature hate to deal with sisay and kinnan.

When I'm play teshar, have Oswald is a good card so I will always use it before do anything else, like I will use Oswald to sac the memnite to search Sol ring and then cast the ranger, instead just cast the ranger and do nothing,

I would've been losing my mind if I was Cam in this game. Kudos to him for keeping his composure. Not sure what Nate was on this time around.
I'm jealous. Our LGS doesn't even have a proper FNM or decent space to play. :( I have to host a room myself so that people can play.
Wouldn't cam draw from the last esper even though it dies before the trigger resolved but the trigger was on the stack before the creature died so it would still happen?
I would've never kept dylan's hand because in my playgroup everyone plays around turn1 remora by not playing 😅

As the game shook out, Teshar never hit, but I got a genuine question for Cam: why cast Memnite turn 1? It seems much more like a card for fodder either for Oswald or Teshar, and being on board ahead of Oswald being able to tap just opens up a chance for it to be interacted with while serving no other purpose.

Its games like this where i think a high powered agro deck would just kinda run over the game. I know they just lose to players who combo off but weird metas where people decks kinda stall out and dont do anything relevant right way it makes cedh look kinda low power.

it's pretty much the only option. Needed to turn on metalcraft so I could use mox opal
