It's a simple parentage verification dna test. many dog and cat registries already do that. Simple paternity testing. have the parents on file.. then do dna confirmation the parents.. it requires the captive breeders or thoes who say they are have the parent stock to profile..
I got a video topic recommendation for you. A Finnish company called Polar Night Energy has started testing an energy storage method where electricity/energy is stored as heat in sand. That heat could then be distributed as district heat to the local area during winters. I think it's a really interesting concept.
Fun fact: Smaug from Tolkien's "The Hobbit" was named after the scientific name for this one as he lived some time in the part of the free state where they come from in South Africa.
Nope ! Actual fact is obviously better than a fun one. The ACTUAL FACT in this case would be that the scientific naming of the south african lizard was in 2011. Yep 2011. Long, long, loooong after not only the writing of The Hobbit but also the death of its author.
I keep exotic pets and if it wasn't for our hobby, there would be far fewer endangered species in existence. Take the Poecilotheria Metallica for example, nearly wiped out due to habitat destruction but kept by private collectors in their millions.
@@megamanx466 name an animal that can't be captive bred, remembering that we can breed everything from tigers to pandas and everything in between. Only things we can't are whales and certain sharks. CITES do a great job and have even blocked me from certain arachnids recently.
@@caitgems1 This video literally stated that the lizards shown can't be captive bred as I recall, but *if* I remembered wrongly then please tell me. I rather not rewatch the video, because someone else is wrong. 🤨
so nice there are dedicated people working in preservation of endangered species.
We must save Trip.
Let's go! We shall save Trip and her people.
Incredible that we are developing genetic markers to tell if something is captive bred or wild caught, very useful tool to help prevent poaching.

This is great, thanks for covering this story!
Where humans passes, dead zones follows.

@@mayonezu9180 No thank you for that information.
Thank you Seeker 🤗
Gaze at the animals eye while they are in their natural habitat and you will never bring them home.
It is much better if everyone just stop liking to fascinate a fascinating being in a glass box, but fascinate it in the wild.
Thank you for shining the light on this.
Great Job Shivan!
nice movie! sad world we have
I’m loving this series! I’m excited to see what the next Indie video will be.
Ay 🇿🇦🇿🇦 the accent is a dead giveaway
Please make a video about Fusion and Photon Rockets!
It is so sad that people will pay money to take away the freedom of wild animals just to display them as trophyes.
Freedom agrees.
or to make medicine out of them
Unfortunately most people see animals as objects or property instead of as other fellow beings.
I want to see it at least before I died
We don't need to own the everything we like
This is so sad and depressing, especially for me since I have two reptiles as pets (bearded dragon and Russian tortoise).
They are pretty cute =)
They taste a lot better than they look.

I thought it was the other way around.
Also I'd recommend some sort of blockchain technology based tracking system
Sungazer:The second Yongragon(Eastern dragon+Weterndragon)+Smaug+Raiju(Pacific rim kaiju)
Leave the wild alone lest you wish to join it and never return.
I want one! Just kidding. That was my first thought on seeing it though. Hence the problem when people don't research the animals they purchase.
I don't think most care
You been in their time accutuly after seeing your enthusiasm bout telling about 'em is making me to say that wish you were one in one of them.
If peta could work properly. We could've done something.
Of course... Smaug... next we hear it likes shiny objects...
Oh.. "Sun" Gazer..
so Seeker had just basically said , look at these cute things .. if you want one , you better be quick , because they are going out of stock soon
Never been so early
Thank you for the video
I feel extremely bad that I won a bearded dragon even though it had been captive bread :(
Bearded dragons are a totally different species
Well, dragons are prominent in video games .
Great work
Reference to How to train your dragon or Game of Thrones?
Game of Thrones.
More dragons the better!!!
Remember 2019, when the only worst thing was ending of Game of Thrones.
@wulpurgis Probably more
Pretty sure dragons are just dinosaurs.
Looks more like a Glaurung to me
gazer gazer
Great video
Look up thorny devil, a marvel of evolution.
I hope they can save this species just in time unfortunately it was too late for the Western White rhino
Inspiration...👍
Dragons are real
I thought it was about saving Dragon Ball z
A scientific name included would have been nice.

Genetically engineered dragon pets soon?

Dragons are cool and all, but I'll stuck with the creature that was domesticated millions of years ago and is well known to reproduce in captivity.
wow
GOT 😭
No ads?
I know women like human dragons.

True, but that shouldn't impede regulations on wildlife trade and proving that a specimen is indeed captive-bred.
Some animals can be captive bred, but many also can't be, hence the problem this video shows. 😅
