Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

At face value of the music video alone, basically we got to see a small glimpse of 2 lives, survivors of some dystopic story, in their 11th hour, before they too get snuffed out, their clothes becoming part of the pile of the other nameless & forgotten, of which their stories we never got to see. On a higher level, the MV & song can be interpreted to however you want to, although there have been a dozen different theories on it already, including one theory about aging & another on discrimination. The director said there can be many meanings so don't believe what some people write to be offical. One was about living in a world where you have disabilities and how people are stigmatized. Another was a world of social media with everything being through a lense. But, as usual, they said they left it to anyone's interpretation and said many stories can apply.

Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

There's a sign when they first come in to the place when they find the camcorder that reads " " RISE FOR ALL" ...think thats a social commentary for the oppressors and for state of world , esp. these days. I feel IU and V have seen so much of how South Korea media, police and citizens can cause so much hate, pressure and judgement that people start to commit suicides at times. IU has known least 3 close idol young friends that exp this. Also recently, in headlines. Famous Actor from oscar winning movie "parasite" had recently killed himself due to all the pressure of media police, even though he was found negative in his drug tests. IU was main lead actress to him in a different show called. "My Mister". What an amazing message and masterpiece, truly deserves a Award in every category.

At face value of the music video alone, basically we got to see a small glimpse of 2 lives, survivors of some dystopic story, in their 11th hour, before they too get snuffed out, their clothes becoming part of the pile of the other nameless & forgotten, of which their stories we never got to see. On a higher level, the MV & song can be interpreted to however you want to, although there have been a dozen different theories on it already, including one theory about aging & another on discrimination. The director said there can be many meanings so don't believe what some people write to be offical. One was about living in a world where you have disabilities and how people are stigmatized. Another was a world of social media with everything being through a lense. But, as usual, they said they left it to anyone's interpretation and said many stories can apply.
The live version of this in concert made me cry. They also threw down a veil after the song to reference the clothes discarded after the cube got them. And there was a short clip with V and all of us ARMYs in the crowd screamed so much kjandfjlkands

Here's everything you might have missed:
1) IU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye. IU uses sign language in the dinner table.
2) The cube (the director said it is called "nemo") represents the society which discriminates against people having disabilities or those who are simply different (often considered as misfits) thus eliminating them. (the pile of clothes: The pile of clothes also reminds you of BTS "Spring day"MV which also features it)
3) The camrecorder shows how the world would have been if the society didn't discriminate against them. They would have get married happily.
4) The scene where they are at the restaurant and the scene where she is on stage singing in her wedding dress, you can see how the people around covered in black are all pointing their fingers at Tae and IU (represents how harshly the world judges them especially in their happy moments)
5) The whole mv was mainly shown from the pov of IU. You can see how she always put herself in the danger first and tries to protect Tae, how tenderly she loved him, her touches were so gentle as she saw his normal eye through the cam. But Tae loved her too. At the end of their life, he puts himself in front and tried to break the box. They both are equally scared but when time comes, they can sacrifice themselves for the other. This is true love.
6) IU taps three times on Tae's shoulder during the scene where he grabs her hand tightly. The three taps translates to "I love you" in sign language.

I honestly don't get this song. It sounds sad and not at all like love actually wins 🤷🏼♀️ Unless it's literally about two old people about to die singing about dying together but maybe some lyrics aren't well translated 🤷🏼♀️ But great MV and like you said her voice in the song completments the story.
