Hi Rosie and happy Wednesday! My Junior high school had the best LAUSD coffee cake ever! Every morning I would line up to get my big slice of coffee cake and a box orange juice. I remember ours being real soft and high with lots of cinnamon crumble on top. Aww, the good ole days! Tfs and sending Cali love. XOXO

This looks really good, but not like the sweet roll I used to get at Sutter Junior High in the SF Valley. the roll I bought was shorter, more bread like than cake like, and was a 3 x 5 inch rectangle. It was 50 cents I think and sold out every morning. Does anyone remember this and (hopefully) have a recipe for that?
Hi Friend, You are describing a memory that I have of a sweet roll from my Jr. High with the LA school district. I was talking to a few girls on Facebook. They all spoke of the really good cinnamon roll. A cinnamon roll is spiral shaped and the sweet roll that I remember was baked as a big sheet and cut into large squares, which with a side of milk, is one of the fondest memories of my youth. No one that I have ever talked to has remembered this sweet roll. It sounds like what you describe. I you ever find a recipe, please share.

Hi Edward, Your kitchen, your rules. That's what I always say. You can do anything that your little heart desires. lol The original version of this cake is 4 cups of flour. This one is cut in half. We all grew up eating this at our break time. Good memories of Junior High, that is what we called it at that time. Now, they call it Middle school. We had a mascot that was called The Warrior. I heard the PC police changed that too. lol Take care and let me know how the Hens turn out.
